“. . .What DOJ found made me ill. Wilson knew about the theft of the cigarillos from the convenience store and had a description of the suspects. Brown fought with the officer and tried to take his gun. And the popular hands-up storyline, which isn’t corroborated by ballistic and DNA evidence and multiple witness statements, was perpetuated by Witness 101. In fact, just about everything said to the media by Witness 101, whom we all know as Dorian Johnson, the friend with Brown that day, was not supported by the evidence and other witness statements. . .” Jonathan Capehart

“. . .Apart from Hillary and the idea of the first female president, the Democrats have little to turn to — which explains why Hillary may well be nominated even if her health and inclinations — and her disastrous performances — lean against it. . .”

LEADS . . .

Jonathan Capehart, WaPo: “‘Hands up, don’t shoot’ was built on a lie”

“. . . this month, the Justice Department released two must-read investigations connected to the killing of Brown that filled in blanks, corrected the record and brought sunlight to dark places by revealing ugly practices that institutionalized racism and hardship. They have also forced me to deal with two uncomfortable truths: Brown never surrendered with his hands up, and Wilson was justified in shooting Brown.

“The report on the Ferguson police department detailed abuse and blatant trampling of the constitutional rights of people, mostly African Americans, in Ferguson. Years of mistreatment by the police, the courts and the municipal government, including evidence that all three balanced their books on the backs of the people of Ferguson, were laid bare in 102 damning pages. The overwhelming data from DOJ provided background and much-needed context for why a small St. Louis suburb most had never heard of exploded the moment Brown was killed. His death gave voice to many who suffered in silence.

“The unarmed 18-year-old also became a potent symbol of the lack of trust between African Americans and law enforcement. Not just in Ferguson, but in the rest of the country. Lord knows there have been plenty of recent examples. And the militarized response to protesters by local police put an exclamation point on demonstrators’ concerns. But the other DOJ report, the one on the actual shooting of Michael Brown, shows him to be an inappropriate symbol. . .”

Hayley Peterson, Business Insider: “A senior Starbucks executive says he was attacked online after the coffee chain began a campaign this week encouraging baristas to talk about race relations with customers.

“I felt personally attacked in a cascade of negativity,” Corey duBrowa, the senior vice president of communications at Starbucks, wrote in a post on Medium on Tuesday.

DuBrowa blocked several Twitter users Monday and then deactivated his account.

“I got overwhelmed by the volume and tenor of the discussion, and I reacted,” he wrote. “Most of all, I was concerned about becoming a distraction from the respectful conversation around Race Together that we have been trying to create.”

Also: Phil Wahba, Fortune: “Starbucks to encourage baristas to discuss race relations with customers”

“Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz has never shied away from involving his company in controversial debates, whether those debates are about same-sex marriage, or gun control, or U.S. government gridlock.

“But the executive, who oversees a coffee empire with 4,700 U.S. stores, has now taken on arguably the most polarizing political debate in the United States: race relations.

“Starbucks published a full page ad in the New York Times on Sunday — a stark, black, page with a tiny caption ‘Shall We Overcome?’ in the middle, and the words “RaceTogether” with the company logo, on the bottom right. The ad, along with a similar one on Monday in USA Today, is part of an initiative launched this week by the coffee store chain to stimulate conversation and debate about the race in America by getting employees to engage with customers about the perennially hot button subject. . .”

Edwin Mora, Big Govt: “Border Patrol Agent: 60 Percent of Illegal US-Mexican Border Crossers Succeed”

“WASHINGTON, DC — A Border Patrol agent, while testifying before a Senate panel today, indicated that nearly 6 out of every 10 aliens who attempt to infiltrate the United States through the U.S.-Mexico border are not apprehended.

“The agent accused the Obama administration of misleading the American people by manipulating illegal cross-border activity statistics.

“Chris Cabrera, a Border Patrol agent at the Rio Grande Valley Sector in Texas, added that his fellow agents “face retribution” from their superiors for reporting illegal alien groups larger than 20.

“Cabrera is the vice president of National Border Patrol Council (NBPC) Local 3307, a union for border agents. He testified before the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee on behalf of NBPC.

“Ask any line Agent in the field and he or she will tell you that at best we apprehend 35-40% of the illegal immigrants attempting to cross. This number is even lower for drug smugglers who are much more adept at eluding capture,” said Cabrera in written testimony prepared for a congressional hearing today. . .”

Also: Edwin Mora, Big Govt: “Border Patrol Agent: We are Punished for Reporting Illegal Alien Groups of More Than 20”

“WASHINGTON, DC — A U.S. Border Patrol agent from the Rio Grande Valley Sector in Texas told lawmakers today that his fellow agents are punished for reporting illegal alien groups of more than 20. ‘Agents who repeatedly report groups larger than 20 face retribution. Management will either take them out of the field and assign them to processing detainees at the station or assign them to a fixed position in low volume areas as punishment,’ Border Patrol agent Chris Cabrera told a Senate panel. ‘Needless to say Agents got the message and now stay below this 20 person threshold no matter the actual size of the group.’

William Bigelow, Breitbart: “San Francisco May Lower Voting Age to 16”

Neuroscience tells us that human impulse control and rationality mature in the early 20s. Leftists appear to like impulsive audiences . . .The Bolsheviks did, so do the Imams, and so do the Dems who simplify rules and encourage immigration across our borders . Nature’s trap: The non-impulsive assume that we are all like them and that public instruction and negotiation will dominate impulses. Very smart leftists in Manhattan or Jerusalem are convinced that impulses can be reined by lecture and rational examples. Not so. Gregory Clark has demonstrated in ten countries that social awareness for one generation is entirely predicted by that same trait in the prior one. Social programs do not promote achievement but do suppress complaints . . . true in Sweden, true in China where the same families that ruled before Mao are still dominant. See Gregory Clark, (2014) The Son Also Rises: Surnames and the History of Social Mobility, about $15 at Amazon. See also Rich Lowry, NRO: “Class, Not Race” . . . Although Robert Putnam’s latest book, Our Kids, subscribes to the fiction of social learning instead of heritability . . .

“Facing a decline in ‘progressive’ politics, San Francisco supervisor John Avalos is offering a city charter amendment to allow 16-year-olds to vote. He argues that allowing the teenagers to vote will stimulate more civic involvement and inculcate a desire to vote that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.

“Avalos told the San Francisco Chronicle, ‘I have seen the power of young people to be able to make changes and positive contributions to their community, and it makes sense to give them the right to vote.’

“Avalos is following the path laid out in January by the San Francisco Youth Commission, which passed a resolution to allow 16 and 17-year-olds to vote. If Avalos succeeds in getting six votes from the eleven-member Board of Supervisors, the teenagers would be eligible to vote in city elections.

“Two cities in Maryland, Takoma Park and Hyattsville, have given 16-year-olds the right to vote, but San Francisco would become the first major city to do so. . .”

Jake Sherman, Anna Palmer and John Bresnahan, Politico: “Aaron Schock resigns after new questions about mileage expenses”

Dreams of being Obama . . .

“Illinois Rep. Aaron Schock resigned Tuesday, less than 12 hours after POLITICO raised questions about tens of thousands of dollars in mileage reimbursements he received for his personal vehicle.

“Schock billed the federal government and his campaign for logging roughly 170,000 miles on his personal car from January 2010 through July 2014. But when he sold that Chevrolet Tahoe in July 2014, it had roughly 80,000 miles on the odometer, according to public records obtained by POLITICO under Illinois open records laws. The documents, in other words, indicate he was reimbursed for 90,000 miles more than his car was driven.

“The discrepancy added to a growing wave of ethical and legal problems for the 33-year-old politician. . .”

Also: Terrence McCoy, WaPo: “The self-destructive mania of Rep. Aaron Schock”

“. . .According to a review of newspaper clippings going back to when he was a teenager in Peoria, Ill., Schock always pushed for more, more, more — and to be the youngest to ever have it.

“It’s a characteristic that propelled Schock to be the youngest school board member, the youngest Illinois state legislator, one of the youngest members of Congress. It pushed him to work out so hard it looked painful, to clog his Instagram profile with action-star theatrics, to get into business hot and early because that’s what Aaron Schock does. He wins. He takes risks. He’s bold, like his bright-red office.”

Mark Krikorian, NRO: “End Birthright Citizenship Now”

“. . . To the extent that supporters of our current practice have made any coherent arguments at all in response to claims that such children are “anchor babies,” they have noted — correctly — that having a U.S.-born child does not give parents any formal right to stay or work in the United States, so that the “anchor baby” label is inaccurate. They have claimed that automatic citizenship for children was not a magnet for illegal immigration because the parents remained deportable and were, in fact, sometimes deported. “President Obama has changed all that.

“Thanks to a strategy outlined in a memo by John Morton, the director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, illegal aliens with U.S.-born children have been effectively exempt from deportation since 2011. Last November, the president took the next step, and decreed that nearly 5 million illegal aliens were to be granted work permits and Social Security numbers — a grant that is nominally temporary but that everyone involved understands is actually permanent. Whatever the outcome of the various lawsuits against the Obama administration, an expectation has thus been established: The anti-borders Left (with its collaborators on the Right) will stop at nothing, including lawless executive decrees, to ensure that a child born in the United States really is an “anchor baby.” This converts the immigration law into the immigration suggestion, giving the president effectively unlimited power to admit and legalize foreigners, regardless of Congress’s wishes. . .”

Richard Pollock, Daily Caller: “Exclusive: Obama Admin Kills Program That Helped Poor File Taxes, Sends Funding To Liberal Groups”

“. . . As a replacement for the taxpayer assistance centers, the Obama administration has funded community service groups with $12 million in matching grants.

The administration has asked the volunteer groups to perform the same service as those offered by the Tax Assistance Centers. But the staffers are volunteers, not tax professionals.

As it happens, some of the largest grants issued under this program — called the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program — have been awarded to groups that have political ties to the administration. . .”

HILLARY . . .Victor Davis Hanson, NRO: “Hillary or Bust!”

“She’s weighed down with negatives, but do the Democrats have a choice? Hillary Clinton will not run in 2016 on the slogan of continuing the hope-and-change policies of Barack Obama. The president has not enjoyed a 50 percent approval rating since a brief period after his reelection. And he is no friend of the Clintons. Abroad, chaos in the Middle East, failed reset with Russia, leading from behind in Libya, and the deaths in Benghazi are no more winning issues than are, at home, the Obamacare fiasco, $9 trillion in new debt, and the alphabet soup of the AP, IRS, NSA, and VA scandals. “The Democratic party has also radically changed in just the six years Barack Obama has been in the White House, as it suffered the greatest losses in Congress since the 1920s. Other than hoping for a serious Republican scandal, the Democrats can only cling to two assumptions. One is historic voter turnout by minorities. The second is bloc voting on the basis of racial and gender solidarity. “If there is insufficient turnout, or if groups do not vote in lockstep on the basis of their racial or sexual identities, then — witness the 2010 and 2014 elections — Democratic candidates can get walloped.

“Why? “A paradox arose in Obama’s efforts at encouraging bloc voting. To galvanize groups on the basis of their race, tribe, or gender, the Obama cadre has resorted to divisive language — ‘punish our enemies,’ ‘nation of cowards,’ ‘my people’ — that turns off independent voters and even some liberal white voters. When the president weighed in during the trial of the “white Hispanic” George Zimmerman by telling the nation that if he had had a son, that boy would have looked like Trayvon Martin, such an eerie tribal appeal bothered at least as many Americans as it may have stirred. Blacks and Latinos may appreciate Eric Holder’s constant sermonizing about white prejudice or Obama’s riffs on Skip Gates and Ferguson, but just as many other Americans do not believe that Gates was singled out on the basis of race and do not see how the thuggish Michael Brown, who had robbed a store and rushed a police officer, could conceivably become a civil-rights hero. . .”

ISR/IRAN . . .

Jonathan Beck and Haviv Rettig Gur, Times of Israel: “Netanyahu hails ‘a great victory for our people,’ though Herzog in no hurry to concede”

“Polling stations opened at 7 a.m. on Tuesday and Israeli citizens headed for the ballots to vote for Israel’s 20th Knesset. Polls from the end of last week had left options open for a tight race. The TV exit polls were published at 10 p.m., as polling stations closed, after which official results began to roll in. The official final results won’t be publicized until Thursday.

Netanyahu, vying for the role for his fourth time (third consecutively), had made a last-ditch attempt over the past days to win back voters mainly from the right-wing bloc, vowing Monday night to block a Palestinian state should he remain in office. . .”

Also: Daniel Halper, Weekly Std: “WH Avoids Congratulating Bibi”

Jonah Goldberg, NRO: “The Cotton Letter’s Inconvenient Truth”

“. . .In a purely rational world, that would be all one needed to know that Iran is not a reliable negotiating partner. Alas, we do not live in such a world. But there’s more evidence. Iran, according to our State Department, has been the chief exporter of terrorism for the last three decades. It has worked closely with al-Qaeda, facilitating its attacks on America and our allies. Most of the September 11 hijackers traveled through Iran with the help of the Iranian government. U.S. judges have ruled that Iran was an accomplice in the 1998 U.S. Embassy bombings in East Africa and the September 11 attacks. During the Iraq War, Iran was responsible for numerous American deaths.

“And it’s not like any of this is ancient history. Indeed, in 2012, the Treasury Department designated the Iranian Ministry of Intelligence and Security as a major promoter of terrorism and violator of human rights.

“Right now, via its brutal proxies, Iran is manipulating events on the ground in four Arab capitals — Baghdad, Beirut, Damascus, and Sanaa. Whatever success there has been against the Islamic State in Saddam Hussein’s hometown of Tikrit has been thanks to Iranian advisors operating in Iraq and the Shiite Muslim militias they control. On Sunday’s Meet the Press, retired admiral Mike Mullen, former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said he fears Iran more than Islamic State.

“So, obviously, the greatest villain in the world today is . . . Senator Tom Cotton (R., Ark.). . .”

Caroline Glick, RCP: “Israel’s Next 22 Months”

“. . . Now unfettered by electoral concerns, over the past week Obama exposed his ill-intentions toward Israel in two different ways.

“First, the Justice Department leaked its intention to indict Democratic Sen. Robert Menendez on corruption charges. Menendez is the ranking Democratic member, and the former chairman, of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He is also the most outspoken Democratic critic of Obama’s policy of appeasing the Iranian regime.

“As former US federal prosecutor Andrew McCarthy wrote this week at PJMedia, “It is perfectly reasonable to believe that Menendez may be guilty of corruption offenses and that his political opposition on Iran is factoring into the administration’s decision to charge him. Put it another way, if Menendez were running interference for Obama on the Iran deal, rather than trying to scupper it, I believe he would not be charged.”

“The Menendez prosecution tells us that Obama wishes to leave office after having vastly diminished support for Israel among Democrats. And he will not hesitate to use strong-arm tactics against his fellow Democrats to achieve his goal. . .”

Daniel Estrin, MyWay: “As Israel votes, Netanyahu takes swipe at Arabs”

“JERUSALEM (AP) — With his political future in question, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday made a last-ditch appeal to hard-liners as the country went to the polls in a tight parliamentary election, saying that high Arab voter turnout was endangering his right-wing party’s dominance.

“Opinion polls had shown a close race heading into the vote, with Netanyahu’s opponents, led by Isaac Herzog of the centrist Zionist Union, in a slight lead. The last available poll was published Friday, when a significant number of voters were still undecided, meaning the race was still too close to call.

“But amid signs that his six-year reign could be in jeopardy, Netanyahu has veered sharply to the right in the closing days of the campaign, making a series of statements aimed at shoring up his hard-line, nationalist base.

“On Tuesday, he reiterated a pledge to prevent the establishment of a Palestinian state — backtracking from six years of his own policy and putting him at odds with the United States and other Western allies.

“At midday, Netanyahu claimed high Arab voter turnout was putting his right-wing Likud Party’s rule “in danger,” according to a posting on his Facebook page. “Arab voters are going to the polls in droves. Left-wing organizations are bringing them in buses,” he said.

“He also called on supporters to vote for him to ‘narrow the gap’ between Likud and the Zionist Union. “With your help, and with the help of God, we will build a nationalist government that will protect the state of Israel,” he said.

“Netanyahu’s comments toward Israeli Arab voters were remarkable because they targeted Israeli citizens, and they quickly attracted accusations of racism. Israel’s Arabs, who make up 20 percent of the population, have long complained of discrimination. . .”–israel-election-3b8fe348f3.html

Adam Kredo, FreeBeacon: “Iranian Dissidents Criticize Obama’s Nuclear Diplomacy”

“Claim White House ignoring human rights, working with murderous regime

“. . . In each letter, the dissidents—most of whom are currently political prisoners in Iran—criticize the White House for ignoring the issues of human rights and democracy in Iran as they push to finalize a deal with a regime that the dissidents says is murderous and untrustworthy.

“Iranian reformers and those seeking a change in the country’s leadership say they do not view the agreement as representing the plurality of Iranians.

“Any deal in which the real representatives of Iranian people are not present and human rights are ignored, is basically a deal between President Obama and Khamenei’s agents, and Iranian people will not consider it to be legal,” 21 Iranian political prisoners wrote in an open letter to Obama that was translated from Persian for the Washington Free Beacon.

PA . . .

Salena Zito, Trib Live: “Sestak’s quote stumble fails trust test”

“. . . Eleven days ago, former two-term Congressman Joe Sestak, a Democrat who represented suburban Philadelphia from 2007 to 2011, said he would again seek the U.S. Senate seat now held by Lehigh Valley Republican Pat Toomey.

“He announced a platform of ‘restoring Americans’ lost trust in their political leaders by being accountable to the people,’ with a bold but gimmicky walk across the state to show he knows what it’s like to walk in Pennsylvanians’ shoes.

“It was typical political-showman stuff — except for a misattributed quote from a classic novel.

“His campaign press release declared: ‘Standing in front of Independence Hall, Joe said America is about ‘We the People’ and that — quoting Scout in To Kill a Mockingbird — ‘You never really know a man until you stand in his shoes and walk around in them.’’

“Those words about walking in another’s shoes actually came as advice from the character Atticus Finch to his daughter Scout in Harper Lee’s 1960 Pulitzer Prize-winning novel.

“Asked about the misattributed quote, a campaign spokesperson said Sestak “made the conscious decision to attribute the quote to the narrator, who was Scout. . .”

Ed Mahon, WITF: “Gov. Wolf’s sales tax expansion would cover child care, nursing homes and more”

Will the GOP legislature do anything about Wolf’s plans or will they circle like buzzards at a fresh kill????

“. . .Americans for Prosperity announced last week that it had released a radio ad criticizing Wolf over the plan, saying it will increase the cost of many everyday items, such as soap, diapers and Tylenol. ‘Even the cost of a Hershey’s bar will increase,’ one of the speakers in the ad says.

“During an interview on WITF’s “Smart Talk” Wednesday, Wolf was asked about a person living in a nursing home who will have to pay more in sales tax without any property tax reduction. Wolf said people should look at the big picture.

“‘I’m looking at somebody who will look at his or her entire life and say, ‘Is this plan making my life better or worse?’’ Wolf said.

“Wolf said the economy is a lot different now than when Pennsylvania’s first permanent sales tax took effect in the 1950s. ‘We’re just bringing ourselves into the 21st century,’ he said. . .”

Mark Levin, 3/17/15

“Benjamin Netanyahu was re-elected as Prime Minister of Israel despite President Obama’s best efforts and his surrogates meddling in the election. Netanyahu pulled a Reagan by winning re-election in the face of an aggressive media campaign against him. His re-election sends a strong message to surrounding Arab states that Israel is a strong force that will not surrender. It also sends a strong message against Obama’s policies that Israel will continue to fight against a nuclear Iran. Netanyahu’s re-election should give conservatives in America hope, that sometimes you just have to stand on principles and fight for what’s right. Mark speaks to Caroline Glick, Deputy Managing Director of the Jerusalem Post, and Joel Pollak, Senior Editor for Breitbart, about the election and its impact on Israel and the rest of the world.

“Also, President Obama continues to act as the spokesman for the middle class even though he is doing everything in his power to destroy the middle class. He is also more willing to listen to Islamo-nazi regimes than his own Congress. If Iran took the same positions as the GOP, Obama would adopt them without question.”

Barb: Dhimmitude

Obama used it in the health care bill. Now isn’t this interesting? It is also included in the health care law. Dhimmitude — I had never heard the word until now. I typed it into Google and started reading. Pretty interesting. It’s on page 107 of the healthcare bill. I looked this up on Google and yep, it exists. It is a REAL word. Dhimmitude is the Muslim system of controlling non-Muslim populations conquered through jihad (Holy War). Specifically, it is the TAXING of non-Muslims in exchange for tolerating their presence AND as a coercive means of converting conquered remnants to Islam.

ObamaCare allows the establishment of Dhimmitude and Sharia Muslim diktat in the United States .

Muslims are specifically exempted from the government mandate to purchase insurance, and also from the penaltytax for being uninsured. Islam considers insurance to be gambling”, “risk-taking”, and “usury” and is thus banned. Muslims are specifically granted exemption based on this. How convenient. So I, as a Christian, will have crippling IRS liens placed against all of my assets, including real estate, cattle, and even accounts receivable, and will face hard prison time because I refuse to buy insurance or pay the penalty tax. Meanwhile, Louis Farrakhan (the Muslim) will have no such penalty and will have 100% of his health insurance needs paid for by the de facto government insurance. Non-Muslims will be paying a tax to subsidize Muslims. This is Dhimmitude.

Health Insurance Exemptions: Apr 13, 2010 … Dhimmitude is the Muslim system of controlling non-muslim populations … The ObamaCare bill is the establishment of Dhimmitude and Sharia …

Mark Fainaru-Wada and Steve Fainaru, ESPN:” SF’s Borland quits over safety issues”

Boxing, soccer, rugby? . . . it’s manly to be brain-damaged . . . impulsive people in the stands cheer for impulsive people on the field . . .

“BERKELEY, Calif. — San Francisco 49ers linebacker Chris Borland, one of the NFL’s top rookies this past season, told “Outside the Lines” on Monday that he is retiring because of concerns about the long-term effects of repetitive head trauma.

Borland, 24, said he notified the 49ers on Friday. He said he made his decision after consulting with family members, concussion researchers, friends and current and former teammates, as well as studying what is known about the relationship between football and neurodegenerative disease.

“I just honestly want to do what’s best for my health,” Borland told “Outside the Lines.” “From what I’ve researched and what I’ve experienced, I don’t think it’s worth the risk.”
