Paul Joseph Watson, InfoWars: “Obama Honors Islam before Dead Marines Killed by Islamic Terrorist; Americans Furious”

“President Obama issued a statement yesterday urging Americans to respect the religion of Islam before he even commented on a terror attack by an Islamic extremist in Chattanooga which killed four Marines, prompting widespread anger.

“The White House tweeted out a statement wishing Muslims ‘Eid Mubarak!’ as Ramadan came to a close, adding that, ‘the holiday is a reminder to every American of the importance of respecting those of all faiths and beliefs.’ . . .”

Marc Stiles, BizJournals: “Seattle mayor offers plan to help followers of Sharia law buy houses”

“For some Muslims, it can be hard to buy a house, and Mayor Ed Murray plans to do something about it.

“On Monday, Murray’s housing committee released its recommendations for ways the city can increase housing in the city. Most ideas were what you’d expect, including increasing the city’s housing levy and implementing new rules and regulations to foster development of market-rate and lower-income housing.

“One suggestion would help followers of Sharia law buy houses. That’s virtually impossible now because Sharia law prohibits payment of interest on loans. The 28-member committee recommended the city convene lenders and community leaders to explore options for increasing access to Sharia-compliant loan products.

“More and more lenders are offering Sharia-compliant financing, according to a USA Today report. The sector has grown to more than $1.6 trillion in assets worldwide over the past three decades, and analysts see potential for continued growth as the number of Muslims in the United States and Europe grows.

“It’s unclear how many Muslims in Seattle would benefit from Murray’s plan. The Washington state chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) estimates more than 30,000 Muslims live in the greater Seattle area . . .”

Ian Smith, NRO: “The Immigration Boon to Democrats”

“A new ‘sanctuary cities’ map from the Center for Immigration Studies goes a long way toward explaining why open-borders Democrats are so addicted to flouting our immigration laws. When you consider the political makeup of the cities, counties, and states where illegal aliens are welcomed, you start to suspect that the liberal elite in San Francisco and elsewhere aren’t interested only in cheap nannies and gardeners. For them, pulling in more illegal aliens is, perhaps first and foremost, about pumping up their political power.

“The Census Bureau includes aliens (both legal and illegal) in the statistics used to apportion our 435 congressional districts. This has the perverse effect of helping states with bigger immigrant populations to inflate both their representation in Congress and the number of Electoral College votes they are allotted (the latter is a function of the former). Just through their illegal-alien numbers, the states of New York, New Jersey, California, Florida, and Illinois, which all went for Obama in 2012, received eight additional congressional seats in the last reapportionment, with over half of those gains coming from their sanctuary cities and counties. It’s clear, then, why Democrats resist enforcing our immigration laws: More bodies mean more power.

“It is estimated that fully half of America’s 41 million immigrants have settled in just five metropolitan areas: New York City–Newark, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, and San Francisco–Oakland. According to data from the Center for Immigration Studies, every one of these cities and their surrounding counties has sanctuary policies of some kind. . .”

Julia Hahn, Big Govt: “Immigration to Swell U.S. Muslim Population to 6.2 Million”

“The Associated Press and NBC are now reporting that Tennessee gunman Muhammed Youssef Abdulazees was an immigrant from the Muslim nation of Kuwait.

“According to U.S. Census Data, the United States admits roughly 100,000 Muslim immigrants legally each year, representing the fastest growing block of immigration into the United States. Tennessee, in fact, is home to one of the fastest growing immigrant populations in the country, causing the President to give a recent speech there in favor of expansive immigration. The Mayor of Nashville has launched a New American Advisory Council to help facilitate the legally-sanctioned transition from the previous inhabitants of Nashville to the new ones.

“Both of Tennessee’s Senators, Sen. Lamar Alexander (R-TN)

and Sen. Bob Corker (R-TN)

, helped pass the Senate’s Gang of Eight bill which would have tripled the number of green cards issued over the next ten years.

“Unlike illegal immigrants, legal immigrants invited into the United States with green cards are granted automatic work permits, welfare access, and the ability to become voting citizens.

Pew Research has estimated that immigration will cause the population of U.S. Muslims to more than double over the next two decades—from 2.6 million in 2010 to 6.2 million in 2030. This demographic change is entirely the product of legal admissions–that is, it is a formal policy of the federal government adopted by Congress.

“Another major source of Middle Eastern immigration into the United States is done through our nation’s refugee program. . .”

Mark Levin Show (7/16/15)

“On Thursday’s Mark Levin Show: Domestic terrorist attacks by people born in the Middle East used to never happen, but today they’ve become common-place because of our immigration rules. Four defenseless Marines were murdered in Chattanooga, TN at the hands of an Islamic domestic terrorist. Our military personnel and police need to be armed at all times, and so do the rest of us, because these attacks will continue under current liberal policies and a porous border. President Obama seems to believe that our own military and police shouldn’t carry weapons, but trusts Islamo-nazis with nukes and ICBMs. The left is not about compassion at all when it comes to immigration; they’re willing to take some hits like this in order to push their agenda.

“Our politicians in Washington aren’t leaders – they’re politicians too busy positioning themselves for more power to put America first. Obama is circumventing Congress entirely by going to the U.N. Security Council. Once the deal is approved there, Obama will say Congress can’t reverse the deal. Obama and John Kerry have their agreement; Congress is now irrelevant.”

IRAN . . .

Joel Pollak, National Security: “Poll: Israelis Back Attack Against Iran, 47%-35%, in Wake of Bad Deal”

“A new poll published by the Israeli newspaper Maariv and cited by the Times of Israel reports that a plurality of Israelis support a military strike against Iran in the wake of the lopsided agreement negotiated by President Barack Obama’s team with Iran in Vienna this week.

“The new show of public support for military action comes as Israeli leaders–including those bitterly opposed to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu–line up to denounce the Iran deal. Opposition leader Isaac Herzog, backed indirectly by Obama in elections earlier this year, is now reportedly considering joining the Netanyahu government in a national unity coalition to oppose the Iran deal internationally. He is expected to join Netanyahu in lobbying the U.S. Congress to reject the deal and return to the negotiating table to craft a more effective one.

“Other polls have shown that roughly 4 out of 5 Israelis believe the new deal is dangerous for Israeli security.

“President Obama is reportedly lobbying Democrats, particularly Jewish ones, to support the deal; opponents of the deal are trying to build a veto-proof majority against it.”

Washington Times: “President Obama’s hissy fit”

“. . .Mr. Obama is widely regarded as having given away the store to get something he could call a deal. The Iranians, masters of bazaar haggling, clearly took advantage of the president’s eagerness, leading him to puzzle over what else he could give up to get his deal. Had he never matched wits with a used-car salesman? The mullahs even squeezed out a last-minute concession that enables Iran to resume trading in weapons in five years — something that hadn’t even been on the table.

“Jason Razaian, the Tehran bureau chief of The Washington Post, was charged with espionage, and has been held in prison for a year. Saeed Abedini, an Iranian-born American living in Idaho, is a Christian pastor who was arrested in 2012 while visiting Iran. He was sentenced to eight years in prison for attempting to “undermine” the regime.

Amir Hekmati is a former U.S. Marine from Michigan who was visiting his grandmother. He was charged with spying and has been imprisoned since 2011. Robert Levinson, a former FBI agent, vanished in Iran in 2007 on a private investigation, but photographs show him alive and apparently a hostage of the Iranian government.

“Mr. Obama held a winning hand and threw it away. It was a major embarrassment in a string of such embarrassments in pursuit of a deal that may well be a catastrophe. . .”

Charles Krauthammer, WaPo: “Worse than we could have imagined”

“When you write a column, as did I two weeks ago, headlined “The worst agreement in U.S. diplomatic history,” you don’t expect to revisit the issue. We had hit bottom. Or so I thought. Then on Tuesday the final terms of the Iranian nuclear deal were published. I was wrong.

“Who would have imagined we would be giving up the conventional arms and ballistic missile embargoes on Iran? In nuclear negotiations?

“When asked Wednesday at his news conference why there is nothing in the deal about the American hostages being held by Iran, President Obama explained that this is a separate issue, not part of nuclear talks.

“Are conventional weapons not a separate issue? After all, conventional, by definition, means non-nuclear. Why are we giving up the embargoes?

“Because Iran, joined by Russia — our “reset” partner — sprung the demand at the last minute, calculating that Obama and Secretary of State John Kerry were so desperate for a deal that they would cave. They did. And have convinced themselves that they scored a victory by delaying the lifting by five to eight years. (Ostensibly. The language is murky. The interval could be considerably shorter.) . .”

John Batchelor Show (7/16/15)

Thursday 16 July 2015 / Hour 2, Block A: Orde Félix Kittrie, professor of law, Arizona State University, in re: international law, especially nonproliferation and sanctions, anent the Iran deal. China has supplied 90% of Iran;’ illicit nuclear materials, incl routing US materials there.  White House claims that there’s no evidence that North Korea is involved in such thing, but it clearly acknowledges that China is.  North Korean-Syrian project was well known.  . . .   China has an interest in distracting the US from the Far East, so China makes money and deflects Western displeasure. Iran can easily circumvent the just-announced deal, which best covers existing/known sites. To what degree is China thinking long-term, but one broker, Karl Lee, a China-based nuclear supplier ($5mill reward for him from State), and US has been complaining about him since 2004 but China wont touch him.  The breathtaking US passivity is, in fact, complicity by  the White House. Chinese govt is subcontracting the sales of illicit nukes to Karl Lee and his colleague Shihai Cheng ..  ..  ..  ..  ..  ..  ..  .. “The China-Iran Nuclear Pipeline: How to Shut It Down  President Barack Obama has said that the final nuclear deal with Iran will “cut off every pathway that Iran could take to develop a nuclear weapon.” U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry has likewise said that the deal “shuts off the four principal pathways to a bomb for Iran”—the Natanz uranium facility, the Fordow uranium facility, the Arak plutonium facility, and covert Iranian attempts to produce fissile material. The Natanz, Fordow, and Arak pathways would involve Iran building a bomb mostly through work at known locations, with technology and materials that it already possesses. So long as the deal is in place, keeping these three pathways closed will depend largely on the vigor with which the United States and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) monitor known locations and respond to readily detectible violations. The fourth pathway, in contrast, would include Iran creating a secret, parallel new nuclear program with technology and materials covertly procured from foreign suppliers. Even with the nuclear deal’s managed access arrangements and dedicated procurement channels, both the United States and the IAEA will have limited capacity to detect either secret nuclear facilities within Iran or the covert receipt by Iran of nuclear-related materials.  It is therefore critical to be able to deter or prevent foreign suppliers from sending nuclear-related materials to Iran. “Despite this, little attention has been paid to the longtime leading suppliers of Iran’s nuclear program: ostensibly private brokers based in China. Foremost among them appear to be Karl Lee (also known as Li Fangwei) and Sihai Cheng, who, according to U.S. federal and state prosecutors, have shipped vast quantities . . . “Thursday  16 July 2015 / Hour 2, Block B: Robert Satloff, Washington Institute exec dir, in re:  Analysis of the terms of the Iran deal. Democrats are important because of the 60-day review process.  “Verification!”  “Don’t trust but verify.”  Predation.  “When will inspectors get in to suspect sites?” Candor?  Iran can delay inspection of any site for up to 24 days.  “Anywhere/anytime” –the “anywhere” is accurate; “any time” is inaccurate.  While a large, thousand-centrifuge site couldn’t be hidden in three weeks, a small, metallurgical process could be scrubbed in days.  “If Iran isn’t lying, it’ll be the first time in 30 years” – Olli Heinnen. Snapback – the reimpostion of suspended sanctions automatically – doesn’t exist.  “When inspectors request access to a site, they have to name the bldg, say why, what they know they’ll find, and how they know what makes them suspicious.  “Well, it comes from intell agencies . . .” “Thursday  16 July 2015 / Hour 2, Block C: Eli Lake, Bloomberg View, in re: Obama’s Iran Strategy. Ship rocketed in Suez Canal today, probably from ISIS.  The structure of h Middle East collapsing, turmoil growing.  Pres Obama selling a realignment of US policy, has signed a major agreement with a major sate sponsor of terrorism without demanding an end to terrorism, and . . . .  A moment of abandoning American leadership in the traditional sense.  If Iran does not cheat, can have nuclear breakout in Year 13; if it does, . . . . As for training to cease sabotage: teach Iran to detect incipient sabotage??  Steny Hoyer, Minority Whip.  Lots of groups affiliated with Soros; also Natl American Iranian Council – threatening Democrats.  Crude.  Our system allows the Executive to conduct foreign policy – lots of precedents to this. Also, it’s a political game: even if they win a 2/3 majority n the Corker vote – still, so much will go through anyway.  Revert tot the pix of the ship under attack in the Red Sea – Iran ahs been pouring money in to materiel to bad actors; Iran is an exporter of terror.   Soleimani. Three [no – more] Americans held by Iran. Next president can continue the deal, but not clear that this president can enforce the next Administration’s compliance.”  ;  ;

Sy Snyder, PoliticsPA: 7/17 Ups & Downs

Stephen Reed. The hammer finally came down on the former Mayor of Harrisburg this week. Ever since Reed’s home was raided in June, we’ve been waiting to see what the final results would be. It’s hard to imagine anyone saw this coming. Attorney General Kathleen Kane announced 499 criminal charges against the ex-Mayor. At the heart of the case was Reed’s penchant for buying artifacts and keeping them himself. These items include a life-sized sarcophagus, a full suit of armor and a “vampire hunting kit”. Apparently he really got into that horror resurgence from a few years ago. Of course, the scariest place of all is still prison.

Katie McGinty. As we reported on Monday, the Democratic Party rolled out the red carpet for McGinty last weekend. She flew with dozens of Senators on a chartered flight to the DSCC retreat in Martha’s Vineyard. This would seem to suggest some serious support within the party for a Senate run. Both pundits and our readers believe McGinty will run. The only question left to answer is, what does Katie McGinty think?

Ed Pawlowski. The Allentown Mayor’s political and personal future gets cloudier by the day. Late last Friday, we learned that the FBI is expanding its investigation into Reading. Then on Tuesday, it was revealed that Pawlowski’s closest political advisor Mike Fleck was recording his conversations. Finally, the Hillary Clinton presidential campaign returned the May $1,000 donation from the Friends of Ed Pawlowski. Unfortunately for the Mayor, he is about to learn how many friends he really does have.

Pat Toomey. The Senator continues to rake in the cash as his re-election contest nears. In this year’s second fundraising quarter, Toomey raised $2.2 million (which is more than some presidential candidates have been able to cobble together). He also has $8.3 million cash on hand as he prepares to defend himself against the Democratic initiative to take back the Senate in 2016.

Scott Wagner. Just when you think you’ve seen it all, someone decides to tape some iPhones to a fire extinguisher. It turns out that some of Sen. Wagner’s famous posters were being knocked down, defaced or just plain stolen. How do you solve such a problem? Through stealth surveillance apparently. It’s doubtful this whole incident will help or hurt the State Senator. He has become such a polarizing figure that the episode is just another reason to love or loathe him. One thing it definitely does, though, is make him stand out.”

Washington Examiner: “Planned Parenthood video shows commodification of death”

“In 2013, the criminal trial of Kermit Gosnell and his abortion “house of horrors” shocked the nation. For years, state inspectors had overlooked numerous egregious violations at Gosnell’s Philadelphia facility — it was a sanitary disaster, he was killing already-delivered babies and it was also a fire-trap from which patients could not be safely extracted in case of emergencies resulting from his quackery. Worst of all, at least two women had died from botched abortions there, and countless others had been maimed.

“That case showed the perils of ideologically motivated under-regulation and under-enforcement in a medical field that, to put it mildly, doesn’t always attract the best, brightest or most scrupulous of medical practitioners.

“This week’s revelation about the nation’s largest abortion business contains softer but much broader echoes of a similar Wild West mentality. In a hidden camera video obtained by the Center for Medical Progress, Planned Parenthood’s senior director of medical services, Deborah Nucatola, describes Planned Parenthood’s role in obtaining and preserving fetal body parts that are subsequently used for medical experiments. (Both the full version and an edited version are available on YouTube.)”

Ellan Pao, WaPo: “Former Reddit CEO Ellen Pao: The trolls are winning the battle for the Internet”

“. . . The Internet started as a bastion for free expression. It encouraged broad engagement and a diversity of ideas. Over time, however, that openness has enabled the harassment of people for their views, experiences, appearances or demographic backgrounds. Balancing free expression with privacy and the protection of participants has always been a challenge for open-content platforms on the Internet. But that balancing act is getting harder. The trolls are winning.

“Fully 40 percent of online users have experienced bullying, harassment and intimidation, according to Pew Research. Some 70 percent of users between age 18 and 24 say they’ve been the target of harassers. Not surprisingly, women and minorities have it worst. We were naive in our initial expectations for the Internet, an early Internet pioneer told me recently. We focused on the huge opportunity for positive interaction and information sharing. We did not understand how people could use it to harm others.

“The foundations of the Internet were laid on free expression, but the founders just did not understand how effective their creation would be for the coordination and amplification of harassing behavior. Or that the users who were the biggest bullies would be rewarded with attention for their behavior. Or that young people would come to see this bullying as the norm — as something to emulate in an effort to one-up each other. As the Electronic Frontier Foundation, which was founded to help protect Internet civil liberties, concluded this year: “The sad irony is that online harassers misuse the fundamental strength of the Internet as a powerful communication medium to magnify and co-ordinate their actions and effectively silence and intimidate others. . .”

Marisa Schultz, NY Post: “Teachers union members want Hillary endorsement withdrawn

“WASHINGTON — Furious American Federation of Teachers members are demanding the union withdraw its endorsement of Hillary Rodham Clinton, calling it premature and undemocratic.

“‘There was no internal discussion. Zero. Zip,’ said Steve Conn, president of the Detroit Federation of Teachers. ‘This is wrong and something needs to be done.’

“The 45-member AFT executive board voted Saturday to back Clinton despite an AFL-CIO request to wait until July when the presidential field is more set.

“Critics say union head and longtime Clinton supporter Randi Weingarten secured the early nod to hamper a surge by Clinton rival Bernie Sanders. . .”

A very worthwhile class to take! Janet

York PA Political Leadership School

STARTS ON SATURDAY, JUL 18, 2015 – 9:00 AM

Thank you for your interest in FACL’s Political Leadership School.

This is not a class on political philosophy or ideas.  This is practical, no nonsense and tested information on how to be effective in politics.

This intense one-day training covers:

The Real Nature of Politics – why just “educating” people alone won’t result in change

The Biggest Lie in Politics – and how the political class uses your convictions against you

How to work effectively at the Capitol – getting a bill sponsor and a roll call vote despite the leadership

How to build a group – putting pressure on legislators

All of our instructors have years of experience putting these principles to work in multiple states.  They have worked for the cause of freedom with organizations such as National Right to Work Committee, National Pro-Life Alliance, National Association for Gun Rights, and Campaign for Liberty as well as federal, state and local campaigns, including major presidential campaigns, and successful campaigns for U.S. Senate and Congress.  They know what works, and also what has been proven not to work in getting politicians to vote right.

This class will teach you how to turn your passion into effective action.

We sincerely hope you can join us.
