“The number one thing you hear when you ask any Republican about Donald Trump is this — he fights. You hear it from Rush Limbaugh. You hear it from other talk radio show hosts. You hear it from the base. You hear it even from some Democrats. And in all cases, you hear it somewhat admirably. They may not like or endorse Trump, but they respect that he just doesn’t give a crap and fights.” Erick Erickson
Janet: ALERT . . .
This week, Congressman Diane Black (R-TN-06), a nurse for more than 40 years and member of the Congressional Pro-Life Caucus, introduced H.R. 3134, the Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2015. The legislation has the support of 80 original cosponsors and would place an immediate moratorium on all federal funding of Planned Parenthood for the span of one year while Congress conducts a full investigation into the organization’s activities. Introduction of the bill follows the release of multiple undercover videos showing Planned Parenthood employees discussing the harvesting of aborted babies’ tissue and organs.
Please Call Congresswoman Diane Black

Joel Pollak, Breitbart: “Kerry, Moniz Lie (Again) About Iran Deal”
“If the Iran deal were any good, the Obama administration would not have to lie about it. Yet Secretary of State John Kerry and Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz continue to do just that. The latest example is a joint op-ed in the Washington Post, in which the Laurel and Hardy of American diplomacy attempt to defend the nuclear deal using a series of half-truths and blatant lies that is worth decoding concisely, in full.
“Claim: Obama fixed the mess Bush left. It is telling that Kerry and Moniz begin by blaming Bush. Here are the facts about what really happened when Obama took office. Bush left his successor a rare diplomatic achievement: a series of UN Security Council resolutions that united the international community against Iran’s nuclear program. Obama set about trying to unravel that consensus. He opposed new sanctions and allowed the regime to regroup during the Green Revolution–an event Kerry and Moniz omit. Yes, Iran was racing down the nuclear path–and Obama was content to let it do so, until Congress and the French–the French!–pressured Obama to acknowledge reality.
“Claim: The Iran deal is the ‘best’ and ‘only’ way to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon. By President Obama’s own admission in April, the deal allows Iran to achieve ‘zero’ breakout time toward a nuclear weapon after ten years or so. Many better deals were possible, including deals that address Iran’s support for terror. But Obama gave up on those options–and on military pressure.
“Claim: The deal blocks ‘each of Iran’s possible pathways’ to a nuclear bomb. It blocks certain pathways–“the highly enriched uranium and the plutonium production pathways”–but only for now. It does not block “the covert pathway,” because the deal does not tell us about nuclear sites that Iran may have concealed, does not force Iran to account completely for its past cheating, does not provide the kind of access to military sites needed to monitor Iranian compliance, and–again–allows Iran to ramp up its program after several years.
“Claim: Inspectors will have access to suspicious sites in 24 days–which is plenty. 24 days are a minimum, not a maximum. It is possible that Iran could hold out against international inspectors for far longer than that–perhaps months. Trace nuclear isotopes would still probably be detectable through environmental sampling at larger sites, though not at the smaller sites where Iran is likeliest to cheat. And not every form of cheating will involve radioactive material–some may involve conventional materials used in illegal centrifuges tests.
“Claim: ‘The plan approved in Vienna does not expire — it is indefinite.’ This is the most egregious lie of all. The ‘indefinite’ provisions refer to the Additional Protocol to the Non-Proliferation Treaty, which the Iran deal says the Iranian parliament still has to approve. It gives no deadline for that approval–unlike the interim agreement, which set the deadline at one year. And in any case, Iran’s compliance with the Additional Protocol is voluntary. So the plan is ‘indefinite’ only in the sense that it is indefinitely weak and inadequate.
“Claim: The U.S. ‘fought hard’ to keep the ballistic missile and arms embargoes. There is no ballistic missile embargo. The Iran deal replaces a mandatory ban on ballistic missiles with a voluntary one, and Iran says the embargo does not apply anyway, because none of its missiles are fitted for nuclear weapons. The fact is that the ballistic missile and arms embargoes were last-minute demands by Iran that the U.S. failed to resist because of Obama’s eagerness to sign a deal. They will allow Iran to continue its nefarious regional reign of terror.
“Claim: The Iran deal takes nuclear weapons ‘off the table’ and allows us to tackle other regional problems. False–the Iran deal leaves nuclear weapons very much on the table. It has already triggered interest among other regional powers in acquiring nuclear weapons. And it removes whatever leverage the U.S. once had to deal with Iran’s terrorism, its human rights abuses, its detention of four American captives, and its threats to Israel and other allies. It also makes solving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict virtually impossible, because Iranian-backed Palestinian terror groups will receive more weapons, eroding what is left of Palestinian will to compromise.”
Peter Foster, UK Telegraph: “Iran ‘side deals’ fuel opposition to nuclear deal in Congress”
“Republicans raise questions about confidential deals between Iran and IAEA as Congress accuses Mr Obama and Mr Kerry of being “fleeced” by Iranian negotiators
“Senior Republicans seized on the existence of the confidential roadmap agreements between Iran and the IAEA during acrimonious hearings on Capitol Hill where John Kerry, the US secretary of state, was accused of being “fleeced” by Iranian negotiators.
“We don’t even have a copy of the agreement to ascertain on behalf of the American people whether the IAEA process has any integrity. So it’s very disappointing,” said Bob Corker, chairman of the powerful senate foreign relations committee.
“Mr Corker said that he had written a letter asking for additional materials about the agreement after receiving a classified briefing on the deal, but said that his sense was ‘we’re never going to get’ the information.
“Republicans have been demanding to see the agreements between Iran and the IAEA, which codifies past elements of Iran’s nuclear programme and its possible military dimensions and the inspection of the Parchin military base.
“‘That we are only now discovering that parts of this dangerous agreement are being kept secret begs the question of what other elements may also be secret and entirely free from public scrutiny,’ Senator Tom Cotton, a Republican from Arkansas said in a statement.
“The Obama administration has said it is misleading to talk of ‘secret deals’, saying that the IAEA always has a duty of confidentiality in its inspections process, and that the confidential agreements are part of the deal.
“Susan Rice, the National Security Adviser, said the administration was ‘satisfied’ with the IAEA-Iran agreements, and would share their contents with Congress. ‘So there’s nothing in that regard that we know that they won’t know,’ she said. . .”
Victory Davis Hanson, NRO: “Appeasing Iran Ignores the Lessons of History”
“The now-concluded Iran nuclear negotiations predictably reflect ancient truths of appeasement. While members of the Obama administration are high-fiving each other over a deal with the Iranian theocracy, they should remember unchanging laws that will surely haunt the United States later on. “First, appeasement always brings short-term jubilation at the expense of long-term security. British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain was a beloved peacemaker after the Munich Agreement of 1938 with Adolf Hitler but derided as a conceited fool and naif by May 1940. A few years from now – after Iran has used its negotiated breathing space to rearm, ratchet up its terrorist operations, and eventually gain a bomb to blackmail its neighbors – the current deal will be deeply regretted. Expect a Nobel Peace Prize for Secretary of State John Kerry now, followed by Chamberlain-like infamy later. “Second, the appeasement of autocrats always pulls the rug out from under domestic reformers and idealists. After the Western capitulation at Munich, no dissenter in Germany dared to question the ascendant dictatorship of Adolf Hitler. “Until last week, Iranian dissidents and reformers had blamed the theocracy for earning Iran pariah status abroad and economic ruin at home. Not now. The haughty ayatollahs are bragging that they faced down the West and will restore the economy – as they wink to applauding crowds that Iran will soon be nuclear and dictate its terms to the Middle East.
“Third, appeasers always wrongly insist that the only alternative to their foolish concessions is war. Just the opposite is true. Time was not on Iran’s side. Teheran was growing desperate for financial and commercial relief from global sanctions and embargoes. In contrast, the world had no such urgency and could have easily waited for a cash-strapped and ostracized Iran to give up on a bomb. There were plenty of alternatives short of war in dealing with Hitler from 1936 to 1939, but none after. Expect that in five years Iran will be better armed, richer, more confident, more aggressive – and nearly impossible to deter without the use of force.
“Fourth, beneficiaries grow to hate their appeasers. Such ingratitude might seem counterintuitive, given the gifts that the Iranians have just received from the Obama administration. But we should remember that Hitler called his Munich appeasers ‘worms’ and pushed them even further. Under the rules of appeasement, an aggressor privately has only disdain for compromises that benefit him, and yet feels a weird sort of respect for those who deter him. Expect an emboldened Iran to double down on its anti-Americanism, as it brags about how a weak and decadent Great Satan meekly caved to its demands, which will only grow greater. . .” http://www.nationalreview.com/article/421484/iran-deal-appeasement-nuclear
William Kristol, Weekly Standard: “Dishonorable Agreement”
“President Obama had a moment of impressive moral clarity at his Iran press conference Wednesday. It was when he was asked about Bill Cosby.
“‘I’ll say this: If you give a woman—or a man, for that matter—without his or her knowledge, a drug, and then have sex with that person without consent, that’s rape.’ And, Obama continued, ‘I think this country, any civilized country, should have no tolerance for rape.’
“Nor, surely, should this country, or any civilized country, tolerate those who kill our soldiers and Marines, who boast about doing so, and who provide enhanced instruments of terror and pay bounties to others to do so.
“Yet President Obama has an abundance of tolerance for the Iranian regime, which gets access to $150 billion as a result of the deal he is now touting. He even has tolerance for Iran’s main instrument of war and terror, the Revolutionary Guard Corps and its leader, Qassem Suleimani, who are explicitly removed from the sanctions list in the deal. Bygones are to be bygones. Indeed, foregones are to be foregones, since the deal doesn’t even contain a commitment from Iran to mend its ways or forbear from continuing to try to kill and maim, and help others try to kill and maim, American soldiers and Marines, Jews around the world, Syrian children, and Israeli teenagers.
“There is plenty to object to in the rest of the deal—the fact that Iran is legitimized as a nuclear threshold state, the porous inspection and verification regime, the amazing commitment in the notorious Annex III.D.10 to help the Iranian regime fight off attempts by others to slow its nuclear program, and more. But how can we debate all of that without attending to the $150 billion that is going to a regime with American blood on its hands?. . .”

“Joe Sestak. The second shoe has finally dropped and Joe Sestak at last has a credible primary challenge. While the famously indefatigable retired Admiral is likely not afraid, Katie McGinty has a much better chance at victory (and bigger backers) than Ed Pawlowski ever did. Furthermore, while the ex-Congressman improved his fundraising totals somewhat, he is still facing a $6 million cash on hand gap compared to Sen. Toomey. It’s quite the Catch-22. If Sestak had raised more money, he might have been able to win over wary Democrats. Yet that same hesitancy makes it harder to raise cash. Regardless, it’s a good thing Sestak envisions himself a fighter because he will face one or two serious bouts in the next year and a half.
“Mary Isenhour. The long-time Democratic strategist got a huge promotion this week, as she’ll be taking over for Katie McGinty as Governor Wolf’s Chief of Staff. Isenhour was previously Wolf’s Secretary of Legislative Affairs and is considered one of the top political operatives in the commonwealth. She’ll be facing the challenge of her life, however, with a budget standoff heading into its fourth week with no end in sight. Isenhour must steer the Wolf Administration to brighter shores in the months ahead.
“Jim Burn. Speaking of shoes dropping, Jim Burn’s long battle to remain Chairman of the PA Democratic Party also finally ended this week. Burn sent out a two and a half minute YouTube video to committee members stating that he will step down on Sept. 12th. Tom Wolf tried to remove him a year ago, but Burn resisted and the then-candidate created FreshStartPA instead. It’s unclear what the soon to be former Chairman will do next.
“Joe Denham. You probably haven’t heard of Joe Denham (yet), but it was a great week for him. He is running against Mike Parrish for the PA-6 Democratic nomination to take on freshman Congressman Ryan Costello. While it will be an uphill battle for the West Whiteland Township Supervisor, an internal poll done for his campaign shows a prosperous avenue. Parrish donated money to Republicans for years, including McCain, Corbett and Romney, and has yet to prove he can overcome that baggage with Democratic voters. Either way, we may very well have another competitive congressional primary on our hands.

Fox: “House OKs bill to crack down on ‘sanctuary cities,’ White House threatens veto”
“The House approved legislation Thursday to punish so-called “sanctuary cities” for failing to cooperate with federal immigration authorities, in the first congressional response to a branzen murder earlier this month in San Francisco allegedly committed by an illegal immigrant.
“The bill, sponsored by Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., would penalize jurisdictions that bar the collection of immigration information or don’t cooperate with federal “detainer” requests, by blocking them from receiving certain federal law enforcement grants and funding.
I”t passed 241-179. The Senate is considering similar legislation.
“Sanctuary city policies needlessly endanger American lives by refusing to honor the federal government’s authority to enforce immigration laws,” House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., said in a statement. “Unfortunately, the Obama Administration’s own foolish policies enable rogue local governments to defy federal immigration laws. All too often, these reckless policies create preventable tragedies.”
“The legislation already faces a White House veto threat. . .”
J. Christian Adams, PJM: “Illegal Alien Crime Wave in Texas: 611,234 Crimes, 2,993 Murders”
“The murder of Kathryn Steinle on the Embarcadero in San Francisco by an illegal alien is the most familiar example of a crime committed by an alien. But an unreleased internal report by the Texas Department of Public Safety reveals that aliens have been involved in thousands of crimes in Texas alone, including nearly 3,000 homicides.
“PJ Media obtained a never-before-released copy of a Texas DPS report on human smuggling containing the numbers of crimes committed by aliens in Texas. According to the analysis conducted by the Texas Department of Public Safety, foreign aliens committed 611,234 unique crimes in Texas from 2008 to 2014, including thousands of homicides and sexual assaults.
“The report describes an alien crime wave of staggering proportions exacerbated by federal officials unwilling to enforce immigration laws.
“The Texas DPS report says well over 100,000 individual criminal aliens have been booked into Texas jails:
“From October 2008 to April 2014, Texas identified a total 177,588 unique criminal alien defendants booked into Texas county jails. These individuals have been identified through the Secure Communities initiative, in which Texas has participated since October 2008.
There are almost certainly more criminal aliens who haven’t been identified as aliens. The 177,588 criminal aliens identified by Texas through the Secure Communities initiative only can tag criminal aliens who had already been fingerprinted. Arrests of illegal aliens who have not been fingerprinted prior to arrest are not included in these arrests numbers derived from the Secure Communities initiative.
“That means that the already stratospheric aggregate crime totals would be even higher if crimes by many illegal aliens who are not in the fingerprint database were included. . .”
Bloomberg: “At Border, Donald Trump Declares ‘I’ll Win the Hispanic Vote’”
“Speaking in Laredo, Texas, the 69-year-old billionaire real estate developer, reality-television host and Republican presidential frontrunner said he was confident that he would take the nomination. He said he would win over Latino voters even after describing undocumented Mexican immigrants as criminals, setting off a firestorm of criticism.
“‘I’ll win the Hispanic vote,’ Trump told reporters at the World Trade Bridge, one of 28 spans connecting Mexico and the U.S. in Texas. ‘Over the years, thousands and thousands of Hispanics have worked for me, and now work for me.’
“Border Patrol agents had planned to accompany Trump and hold a meeting with him but backed out after consultations with their national union, the National Border Patrol Council said. Trump said the local was silenced by superiors in Washington. . .”
Kirsten Powers, USA Today: “Crush Planned Parenthood”
Black lives matter?
“Planned Parenthood head Cecile Richards apologized last week for the uncompassionate tone her senior director of medical research, Deborah Nucatola, used to explain the process by which she harvests aborted body parts to be provided for medical research.
“Nucatola had been caught on an undercover video talking to anti-abortion activists posing as representatives of a biological tissue procurement company. The abortion doctor said, “I’d say a lot of people want liver,” and “a lot of people want intact hearts these days.” Explaining how she could perform later-term abortions to aid the harvesting of such intact organs, she said, “We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”
“This is stomach-turning stuff. But the problem here is not one of tone. It’s the crushing. It’s the organ harvesting of fetuses that abortion-rights activists want us to believe have no more moral value than a fingernail. It’s the lie that these are not human beings worthy of protection. There is no nice way to talk about this. As my friend and former Obama White House staffer Michael Wear tweeted, ‘It should bother us as a society that we have use for aborted human organs, but not the baby that provides them.’. . .”
END NOTES . . .
Mark Levin (7/23/15)
“On Thursday’s Mark Levin show: Democrats don’t care about American culture, they just care about getting votes and staying in power. The left sees immigration as their counter-revolution to the American revolution – they see immigrants as a viable voting block and shower them with freebies to ensure that vote. Immigrants today are different than immigrants from 100 years ago because of chain migration and the massive welfare state. We used to have measured, gradual immigration that allowed time for assimilation; today there is no period of assimilation, just one unprecedented and uninterrupted flow of immigrants with no end in sight. Those who claim this is good for America are either uninformed or lying through their teeth. Also, just because the rest of the world says our nuclear agreement with Iran is a good deal doesn’t mean it’s a good deal for America. Members of Congress are just now realizing this, like Sen. Bob Corker, who paved the way for President Obama to get his deal. Later, Mark is joined by Carly Fiorina to discuss her run for the 2016 presidency.”

U.S. President Barack Obama and Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) were the most mentioned names repeatedly cited by some 24 speakers, as pro-Israel groups and Jewish community members seek to pressure the senior Jewish Senator to disapprove the agreement and vote to overdid the president’s expected veto. “Fact: Schumer – you control the votes to stop the deal,” one poster, distributed to the demonstrators, read.”
