Janet: “Say No to SYRIAN Refugees – Contact Legislators”

Last week’s attacks on the capitol of France by Syrian refugees and refugees from other countries as well as native born Jihadists are a harbinger of things to come for the United States.

“Isis boasted that French blood was sweet bur American Blood would be sweeter.  Isis has also boasted that the United States would be attacked in the near future. “President Obama continues to move forward with his unconstitutional plan to surge tens of thousands of Syrian Refugees into the United States even though: FBI Director James Comey testified before Congress that it was not possible for the U.S. to properly vet Syrian refugees because there were no data points that would show past activity for the majority of Syrians. “Due to the security risk to the American People the United States should immediately curtail all plans to resettle Syrian refugees and all other non-vetted Mid-eastern refugees on American soil. “If you agree please contact the office of your Senators and Congressional Representative also please contact your State Senator, Representative and Governor Wolf and sign the online petition as well! “All members of congress can be reached through the Capitol switchboard the number is: 202 224-3121 “Senator Bob Casey can be reached at: 202 224-6324 Phone 866 802-2833 Toll free 4254 202 228-0604 Fax Senator Toomey can be reached at: 814 453-3010 Phone 814 455-9925 Fax I suggest contacting the local offices as the DC switchboard is often jammed. “The evidence suggests very strongly that the left-wing, Democratic claques that run a great many American cities — particularly the poor and black cities — are not capable of running a school system or a police department. They are incompetent, they are corrupt, and they are breathtakingly arrogant. Cleveland, Philadelphia, Detroit, Baltimore — this is what Democrats do.” Kevin Williamson Http://

Kevin Williamson, NRO: “Rahm Emanuel and Chicago Politics”

“It is difficult to believe that Rahm Emanuel is in it for the money, but he is. Just not in the way that one usually means by that expression.

“Emanuel, the mayor of Chicago and former right hand to President Barack Obama, doesn’t need a Chicago salary or a check from the city’s already overburdened municipal pension system. Political animal that he is, he has had excellent luck finding paydays on Wall Street: After leaving the Clinton administration, Emanuel, who holds no relevant degree and who had no experience in finance, was hired by Wasserstein Perella, where he was paid approximately $450,000 — per month. He had previously enjoyed a generous retainer from Goldman Sachs, which paid him “to introduce us to people,” as one executive put it. On the precipice of 60, Emanuel remains admirably thin, but it isn’t because he’s missing any meals for want of pocket money. “Mayor Emanuel is in a tough spot just now: A Chicago police officer was involved in a controversial shooting, and the mayor appears to have been involved in a cover-up, delaying the release of a video of the incident and a $5 million pay-off to the family of the deceased until after his reelection, which was a historically close one. The calls for his resignation are coming not from the pages of National Review but from those of the New York Times, where Bernard E. Harcourt is demanding a show of accountability. As the critics called for his head, the mayor reiterated that he remained loyal to Police Superintendent Gerry McCarthy, and continued to insist upon his loyalty to the man as he demanded his resignation. McCarthy, who once policed the pacific streets of elegant Newark, N.J., wasn’t ready for Chicago-style politics. “Chicago is corruption itself. If Bill de Blasio’s Manhattan is Dorian Gray, Chicago is the picture: 2,700 shootings already this year, neighborhoods entirely lost, a public-school system that is so deep into piddling corruption that it doesn’t even know what its dropout rate is. In a low blow for the ages, comedian Sherrod Small sneered about another city: ‘Philadelphia is nothing but Baltimore with electricity.’ Perhaps. What is Chicago?

“Port-au-Prince, eventually. . .”

“. . .The earth is warming. But not much, not quickly, and not lately. While it seems as though we are caught on the horns of a dilemma, my goal in this short essay is to make the dilemma disappear, so we can focus on things that need our attention now. Decarbonization will not change the temperature or climate picture for our planet. Decarbonization benefits one group: those whose livelihoods depend on your belief in their story.” David Siegel

Washington Examiner: “Cloudy with a chance of mass murder”

These “grin and shuffle” maneuvers advance your self-interest . . . In this case, Obama’s job applications . . .

“Next week, I will be joining President Hollande and world leaders in Paris for the global climate conference,” President Obama said ahead of the event that began this week. “What a powerful rebuke to the terrorists it will be, when the world stands as one and shows that we will not be deterred from building a better future for our children.”

“One could hardly blame the leadership of the Islamic State if they had a hearty laugh at this peculiar response to its attacks on Paris last month. The same could be said about the multiple instances in which Obama and high-ranking members of his administration have asserted that climate change poses a greater national security threat than terrorism, or is, as Secretary of State John Kerry once put it, “the world’s most fearsome weapon of mass destruction.”

“For the civilized world, this rhetoric is no laughing matter, and not just because of the bad policies that may emerge from the Paris talks. Western news consumers are well accustomed to careless and cynical but attention-grabbing predictions about the potential effects of climate change — cannibalistic polar bears, no more coffee, social injustices, whatever major storm just hit nearby or will hit tomorrow, et cetera, et cetera.

The new fad of blaming climate change for terrorism, or treating the two as comparable security issues, is troubling. It should make voters worry about the quality of their elected leaders.”

Scott Johnson, Weekly Standard: “The Threat from ‘Minnesota Men’”

“If you get your news from the headlines, you can be excused for thinking that “Minnesota men” pose a special risk of taking up the terrorist jihad at home and abroad. As theWall Street Journalreported this past April, for example, “U.S. charges six Minnesota men with trying to join ISIS.” The “Minnesota men” featured in such headlines are almost invariably drawn from Minnesota’s swelling population of Somali Muslim immigrants. The state—mostly the metropolitan Twin Cities area—is home to 35,000 such immigrants, the largest Somali population in North America.

“Starting in the 1990s, the State Department directed thousands of refugees from Somalia’s civil war to Minnesota. As Kelly Riddell pointed out in the Washington Times this past February, in Minnesota these refugees “can take advantage of some of America’s most generous welfare and charity programs.” Riddell quoted Professor Ahmed Samatar of Macalester College in St. Paul: “Minnesota is exceptional in so many ways but it’s the closest thing in the United States to a true social democratic state.” After a dip in 2008, the inflow of Somalis has continued unabated and augmented by Somalis from other states. If it takes a village, Minnesota has what it takes.

“Unfortunately, according to a September report of the House Homeland Security Committee task force on combating terrorist and foreign fighter travel, Minnesota also leads the country in contributing foreign fighters to ISIS. Reviewing the public cases of more than 250 Americans who had traveled to join ISIS, the task force found that 26 percent of them came from Minnesota. When it comes to exports to ISIS, we’re number one. . .”

Sarah Westwood, Washington Examiner: “New Clinton emails contradict Benghazi testimony”

“. . . Emails sent the night of the attack indicate Clinton did indeed receive updates about the unfolding violence in Benghazi via her private, unsecured email network, contrary to her testimony in an Oct. 22 hearing before the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

“Clinton argued last month that she had conducted the majority of her work outside of email and that she had been receiving live updates about the attack in person, not on her private server. When describing her modes of communication she used on the night of the attack, Clinton cited secure phones and the SCIF, or sensitive compartmented information facility used for viewing classified material, in her home.

“But Clinton defended the lack of Benghazi updates among her private emails by arguing that most of her communications did not take place over email. . . .

“Clinton claimed in the select committee hearing last month that she was unaware at the time that most of the memos Blumenthal sent her were actually written by Tyler Drumheller, a former intelligence official. However, an email released Monday indicates Clinton received emails about Libya that were written by Drumheller himself, including one the day after the Benghazi attack.

“Although Clinton was barred from participating in Clinton Foundation events by an agreement with the White House, she evidently looked for ways to integrate her State Department work with that of the Clinton Global Initiative, an arm of the foundation. . .”

Bob Cusack & Ian Swanson, TheHill: “FBI chief is wild card for Clinton”

“FBI Director James Comey is the pivotal figure in the 2016 presidential race that no one is talking about.

“Comey, a Republican appointed by President Obama who enjoys a stellar reputation on both sides of the aisle, is investigating Hillary Clinton’s use of a private email server as secretary of State.”

Clinton is the overwhelming favorite to win the Democratic presidential nomination next year and is expected to be a tough candidate for any Republican to face in 2016.

Yet the controversy surrounding her private email account remains an Achilles’ heel.

The GOP-created House Benghazi Committee flopped in October when Clinton testified for 11 hours. That hearing failed to produce anything newsworthy about her use of a private server and attracted criticism from liberals and conservatives alike.

Its failure makes it clear that the FBI will have the final say on whether Clinton did anything wrong or illegal. And whatever the verdict is, both parties will have to accept it because Comey is, in many ways, untouchable.

The 54-year-old FBI chief, confirmed by the Senate to a 10-year term in a 93-1 vote this summer, is known for his independence and aggressive prosecutions.

Ben White, Politico: “Could an ‘accident’ by Janet Yellen derail Clinton?”

“A likely December interest-rate hike has Democrats feeling nervous, and analysts divided on the economy.

“The general election is still almost a year away. But much about the economic picture that will frame the 2016 presidential race will come into the focus in the next two weeks as the Federal Reserve prepares to raise interest rates for the first time in nearly a decade and the job market improves to levels not seen since 2007.

“The overall backdrop — an economy that is strong enough for the Fed to start hiking rates — should favor Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.

“But the first Fed move, which is widely expected to come on Dec. 16, presents a potential wild card that could roil global markets, slow U.S. growth and provide an opportunity for Republicans in an economy that retains significant structural problems that have left many voters deeply frustrated and casting about for tough-talking outsiders like Donald Trump.

“‘Back in 2008, the U.S. economy was in the emergency room and we have slowly emerged. We can walk pretty fast now but we are still structurally impaired and cannot run,’ said Mohamed El-Erian, chief economic adviser at Allianz. ‘And the Federal Reserve action likely to come in December presents risks of both a policy mistake and a market accident.’ . .”

John Nolte, Big Journalism: “Trump 100% Vindicated: CBS Reports ‘Swarms’ On Rooftops Celebrating 9/11”

“The DC Media has spent the last two weeks attempting to destroy Donald Trump with lies. Outright lies, and they are doing so in order to protect a 14 year-old cover up. Not only have eyewitnesses and contemporaneous reports proven Donald Trump 100% correct about Muslims celebrating 9/11,  a just-uncovered  local CBS News (WCBS-TV in New York) report completely vindicates Trump’s claim of “thousands and thousands” of Muslims celebrating the fall of the World Trade Center. . .

“FACT: Donald Trump is now 100% vindicated.”

Quinnipiac Poll: “December 2, 2015 – Bump For Trump As Carson Fades In Republican Race”

“Eleven months before the 2016 presidential election, Donald Trump is the undisputed leader in the Republican field, as Dr. Ben Carson, in a virtual tie with Trump four weeks ago, drops to third place, according to a Quinnipiac University National poll released today.
“On the Democratic side, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton widens her lead over Sen. Bernie Sanders of Vermont to 60 – 30 percent, compared to 53 – 35 percent in a November 4 survey by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN-uh-pe-ack) University Poll. Former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley has 2 percent, with 6 percent undecided.
“Trump gets 27 percent of Republican voters today, with 17 percent for Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida, 16 percent each for Carson and Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas and 5 percent for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush. No other candidate tops 3 percent, with 8 percent undecided.
“Last month, Trump had 24 percent, with 23 percent for Carson.
“Among Republicans, 26 percent of voters say they “would definitely not support” Trump, with 21 percent who would not back Bush. . .”

Stephen Kruiser, PJM: “Cruz Surges to 2nd Place in New USA Today Power Rankings”

. . . The Iowa primary is coming. Will those good folks vote for anyone opposed to the use of ethanol in gasoline? . . .

“Ted Cruz is on the move.

“The combative Texas senator has climbed to second place in our GOP Power Rankings, the highest he has placed in the 14 weeks we have been polling political experts on who is the strongest candidate in the Republican field.

“The biggest news of the week was Ted Cruz’s surge in Iowa,” said Emory University professor Andra Gillespie. “One of the interesting features of this cycle has been the crowded evangelical field, where no one candidate has dominated and (Donald) Trump has held his own. Social conservatives may have found their candidate in Ted Cruz.”

“Trump remains No. 1 in our survey, with 17 first-place votes. While he has continued to toss out comments that are considered poor taste or inaccurate, he is the unquestioned front-runner.

“But Cruz and Marco Rubio are gaining ground. Rubio actually took more first-place votes in our survey (seven) than Cruz (four), but Cruz scored higher in total because 19 of our experts put him in second place. . .”

Sarah Ferris, The Hill: “UnitedHealth CEO regrets entering ObamaCare”

““It was for us a bad decision,” UnitedHealth CEO Stephen Hemsley said at an investor’s meeting in New York, according to Bloomberg Business.

“UnitedHealth, the country’s largest insurer, announced last month that it would no longer advertise its ObamaCare plans over the next year and may pull out completely in 2016 — a move that sent shockwaves across the healthcare sector.

“Hemsley’s remarks double down on his earlier warning that the ObamaCare exchanges remain weaker than expected after two years and that it will take far longer for insurers to profit from the millions of new enrollees.

“The company had already eyed ObamaCare’s federal marketplace cautiously since it launched in 2013. UnitedHealth only began selling plans on the exchanges last year.

“Now, UnitedHealth officials have said that move will result in a half-billion dollars in losses over two years. . . .”

Erick Erickson, Red State: “The Most Surprising Thing About the Colorado Springs Shooting”

“This past Friday, a lunatic who lived in a shack with no running water or electricity killed three people in Colorado Springs, CO. He wound up going into a Planned Parenthood facility. Three people were killed. None of those were abortionists or patients. A pro-life Christian preacher/police officer was one of the victims.

“At 3:30pm on Friday, while the facts were shifting and things were still unknown, I was already getting emails from leftists blaming me, my rhetoric, RedState, talk radio, Center for Medical Progress videos, etc. for the killings. Again, at that time the facts were still unknown and even now a lot of facts are unknown. The man was neither a church goer nor a pro-life activist. He was a lunatic.

“But the left had its narrative. It had been searching for a moral equivalence since Paris and could not resist the fundraising opportunity to claim pro-life Christians were even a bigger threat than muslims. After all, according to the left, if someone shoots up a Planned Parenthood facility, it is proof that all Christians are one degree away from a terrorist related rampage. But when a Muslim walks into a place screaming “Allahu Akbar,” it’s just workplace violence.

“There is one surprising thing about the Colorado Springs shooting at the Planned Parenthood clinic. It is that it is a rare event. . .”

Byron York, Washington Examiner: “The coming battle over Guantanamo and the imperial presidency”

“Congress recently forbade President Obama from bringing Guantanamo inmates to the United States, or even preparing a place in the U.S. to which the terrorist prisoners might someday be transferred. “The specific action Congress took was to renew earlier bans on the president spending any appropriated funds for those purposes.

“Republicans and Democrats spoke in a strong and unified voice; 370 members of the House and 91 members of the Senate voted for the defense authorization bill that contained the Guantanamo provision. Other than a measure passed by unanimous consent, it’s hard to find Congress more united.

“Obama signed the bill into law, but at the same time released a signing statement making clear he might bring Guantanamo prisoners to the United States anyway — no matter what Congress says.

‘The restrictions contained in this bill concerning the detention facility at Guantanamo are … unwarranted and counterproductive,’ Obama wrote. ‘As I have said repeatedly, the executive branch must have the flexibility, with regard to the detainees who remain at Guantanamo, to determine when and where to prosecute them, based on the facts and circumstances of each case and our national security interests, and when and where to transfer them consistent with our national security and our humane treatment policy.’ . . .”

Amity Shlaes, John Batchelor Show: FLAT TAX? (12/1/15)

“. . . Republicans by contrast are heading toward the very un-progressive flat tax. The simple levy hasn’t been this popular since 1996, when Steve Forbes campaigned with the promise of a universal 17% income tax rate. Several of this campaign’s flat taxers are actually out-Forbesing Forbes. Ted Cruz is calling for a flat 10%. Ben Carson, Mike Huckabee and Rand Paul also propose some kind of flat rate. Jeb Bush, Marco Rubio and Donald Trump pay their respects with plans that reduce the number of tax brackets. “Republicans—who are headed into yet-another televised debate tonight—are aware that voters feel rooked since 2008. But GOP candidates believe that even today voters don’t equate redistribution with fairness. And they are betting that voters desire a trustworthy government more than an arbitrary one. . .”

Mark Levin Show (12/1/15)

“On Tuesday’s Mark Levin Show, Consent of the governed is all but dead, and our government no longer represents us. The bureaucracy has grown to become so massive and the people have become disregarded. Education and highway bills that are filled with massive new programs and mindless social engineering are being rushed through Congress by the left. Americans did not vote for members of Congress to create massive government and pass omnibus bills. More government centralization and overreach has happened as a result of massive federal bureaucracy controlled by the left. Congress and especially, Republican members should be putting a stop to liberals devouring Reagan’s prosperity with its own permanent fixtures. Unfortunately, Republicans in Congress are surrendering to President Obama and seek to make peace with those who promote tyranny, instead of defending the Constitution and American’s freedoms.

“Later, leftist billionaires are benefiting from the climate deal President Obama is pushing. This is the statism of the left and not capitalism. Leftists hate the Industrial Revolution which created the vast middle class and now they rob the middle class with their green initiatives.

“Finally, the FDA is a disaster for people and is forcing some Americans to get their drugs and treatments outside of America. The FDA has made it hard for Americans to gain access to life saving drugs and may be responsible for the deaths of many. The media should be focusing on this and not Trump’s 9/11 claim.”
