Jenny Beth Martin: SCOTUS
“Join Tea Party Patriots co-founder Jenny Beth Martin and other patriots Monday, April 18 at 8:30 a.m. on the steps of the Supreme Court building to protest President Obama’s executive-amnesty agenda and his Supreme Court nomination.
“The justices that morning will hear a challenge to the president’s executive-amnesty order – which would grant work permits to 5 million illegal immigrants – and it’s crucial we send the message that our immigration laws need to be upheld, not blatantly ignored against all common sense by our commander in chief.
“President Obama is intent on pushing through a liberal nominee to stack the bench in his favor on this issue. It’s the perfect example of why Senate Republicans must hold firm, with no hearings and no votes for any Supreme Court nominee until after the election.”
As the western versions of democratic nations gained wealth, they extended electoral franchises to the point of extreme populism, and parliaments had no function but to seek new laws to give, like manna, to the people. This legislative pace grew ever more rapid; laws accumulated faster and faster. It was a social appetite which, as with gluttony, led to obesity and cholesterol-rich sclerosis, clogging arteries and restricting thought, individual freedom and innovation, as well as constraining fluid action. This is why modern empires have shorter lives than those of old: their processes accelerated their lives and ultimate demise.

John Batchelor: North Koreans told to prepare for a long march
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/asia/northkorea/12206185/North-Koreans-told-to-prepare-for-new-arduous-march.html “In a proclamation that will strike fear into the hearts of the North Korean people, state media has ordered the citizenry to prepare for a new “arduous march”. “The term was first coined by the North Korean leadership in 1993 as a metaphor for the four-year famine that decimated the nation from 1994. “The famine – in which as many as 3.5 million of the nation’s 22 million people died – was brought on by economic mismanagement, natural disasters, the collapse of the Soviet bloc and the consequent loss of aid, combined with the regime’s insistence on continuing a life of luxury and feeding the military. “Now, less than one month after the United Nations Security Council voted in favour of new sanctions against North Korea for its recent nuclear and missile tests, Pyongyang has announced a nationwide campaign to save food. “The road to revolution is long and arduous”, an editorial in the state-run Rodong Sinmun newspaper stated on Monday. “We may have to go on an arduous march, during which we will have to chew the roots of plants once again”. “The Chosun Ilbo, a South Korean newspaper, reported that every citizen of Pyongyang is being ordered to provide 1kg (2.2lb) of rice to the state’s warehouses every month, while farmers are being forced to “donate” additional supplies from their own meagre crops to the military. “There are also reports of North Koreans hoarding food supplies due to fears of another famine, while the regime has started to crack down on the open-air markets that serve as an important source of additional food for city-dwellers and have been tolerated in recent years.”

Jonah Goldberg, NRO: “Clintons Are in No Position to Surf the Populist Wave”
“. . . the Clinton team has come to grips with the fact that the Sanders and Trump insurgencies are two faces of the same larger phenomenon. Huge swaths of the American electorate are fed up, ticked off, and wildly disappointed with the direction of their country.
“In a society so polarized along ideological lines, it’s no surprise that partisans will have partisan explanations for why this is so. But the underlying conditions driving the discontent are in fact bipartisan. Anyone who listened closely to both the tea parties and the Occupy Wall Street crowd could hear the echoes of similar complaints. The incestuous relationship between big business and big government drives both the Left and the Right crazy.
“As a conservative, I think the right-wingers have better remedies for the problem. In a nutshell, big corporations will always have the resources — financial, political, legal, etc. — to manipulate and navigate around regulations. Smaller firms simply can’t handle the compliance costs of draconian regulations.
“The result: Only the really big companies can survive and thrive, which in turn makes them “too big to fail.” That’s why community banks are being destroyed by Obama’s policies: They can’t carry the costs the way the big banks can, and, lacking connections and influence, they’re small enough to fail.
“In other words, if you think Big Business and Big Government are hugging each other too much, the last thing you should do is have government tighten the embrace. . .” http://www.nationalreview.com/article/433522/hillary-clinton-populist-election-2016
Rudy Takala, Washington Examiner: “Watchdog group sues for FBI records on Obama”
“A watchdog group on Thursday announced it was suing the federal government to obtain records on President Obama held by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
“The lawsuit from Judicial Watch, filed against the Justice Department in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, follows a 2011 Freedom of Information Act request in which the group sought information the bureau obtained from 2008 interviews with associates of former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich. Those included meetings with Obama, his former chief of staff Rahm Emanuel, and senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett.
“Blagojevich was later convicted on 17 charges of public corruption related to an attempt to profit from filling the Senate seat left vacant when Obama was elected president. He is currently scheduled for release from prison in 2024.
“The FBI has denied Judicial Watch’s request for information on multiple occasions, and says releasing what it learned from interviewing the president and his advisers could ‘reasonably be expected to interfere with enforcement proceedings.’
“There are no enforcement proceedings related to the case known to be pending, leading critics to charge that the agency’s denial is politically motivated. . .”
Andrew McCarthy, PJM: “European-style Islamic Enclaves in the United States?”
“. . . An obvious question arises: Can the proliferation of Islamic enclaves that has occurred in Europe happen in the United States? For now, the situations are not comparable. The U.S. has a vastly larger population than any individual European country; and compared to Europe, we are geographically remote from the Middle East. Muslims make up only about one percent of our population (as opposed to ten percent of France’s), and because we have historically been a melting pot for diverse immigrant populations, we do a better job of assimilating Muslims into our society than the Europeans have.
“Still, as I outlined in my 2010 book, The Grand Jihad, a major challenge of radical Islam’s “civilizational jihad” against the West (to borrow the Muslim Brotherhood’s description of its objective in America) is voluntary apartheid. That is the strategy by which Muslims of the fundamentalist bent integrate but quite intentionally resist assimilation. It is very difficult to assimilate a subpopulation that comes to a host country with the specific intention of changing the country rather than becoming part of that country’s culture.
“So is there a large enough, determined radical Islamic faction in the U.S. to trigger the development of sharia-supremacist enclaves – many of which, in Europe, have become “no go zones” hostile to the police and other government authorities?
“In a report published today, the Clarion Project’s Ryan Mauro contends not only that it could happen here but that it is already happening, and has been for some time. He points to Jamaat al-Fuqra, a Pakistani Islamic-supremacist group that has rebranded itself as “Muslims of the Americas.” The group claims to have established 22 “Islamic villages” in this country, the best known of which is “Islamberg,” the group’s headquarters in upstate New York. . .”

ALL OF A SUDDEN. MESSAGE FROM A CONCERNED CITIZEN: “Has everyone lost their ability to see what is happening in the USA? Think America! Before Obama, there was virtually no visible presence of Islam in America. All of a sudden, Islam is taught in schools. All of a sudden, we must allow prayer rugs everywhere and allow for Islamic prayer in schools and businesses. All of a sudden, we must stop serving pork in public places and institutions. All of a sudden, we are inundated with law suits by Muslims who are offended by America. (For God’s sake, they are IN America) All of a sudden, we must allow burkas to be worn everywhere even though you have no idea who is covered up under them. All of a sudden,Muslim training compounds are popping up throughout the USA. All of a sudden, Muslims are suing employers for being expected to do their jobs. All of a sudden, all of our aircraft carriers are recalled for maintenance by Obama rendering the Atlantic unsupported. All of a sudden, our troops are withdrawn from the middle east. All of a sudden, there is no money for American poor, disabled veterans, jobless Americans, hungry Americans, or displaced Americans, but there is endless money for Obama’s refugee programs. All of a sudden, Obama fills the Federal Government with Muslims in key positions. All of a sudden, there is an ammunition shortage in the USA. All of a sudden, Americans are threatened by the Federal government for complaining about Muslims. All of a sudden, the most important thing for Obama to do is disarm American Citizens.
Now, why is it so important for Obama to disarm America? Why? Because a disarmed country is ripe for takeover by the Muslim Army that Obama has imported into the United States. Nikita Krueschev, the Russian Dictator who visited the USA in the 1950s said the USA could never be occupied by any army because of it’s citizen Army. Obama knows this fact and is doing everything within his power to disarm our Citizen Army. If Obama can’t do it legally, he will abuse his power and take every gun from Americans because he knows he must do that to turn the USA over to Islam. Be wary and watchful. Obama’s actions speak far beyond his words. Obama won’t even say the words “Islamic Terrorist”, WHY?”.. This we command you: that if any would not work, neither should he eat. II Thessalonians:, 3:10
Washington Times: “Weather facts vs. fantasy”
“The EPA guessed wrong about the increase in methane readings
“Harvard researchers published a paper in the journal Geophysical Research Letters last month indicating that U.S. levels of atmospheric methane, a greenhouse gas, increased more than 30 percent between 2002 and 2014. The scientists compiled satellite and surface readings of methane to arrive at their finding, one that directly contradicts the EPA’s estimate that methane during that period had not risen at all, owing to the agency’s efforts to hold it down with air-quality regulations.
“The implication of the research is unsettling. It challenges the central premise of the president’s climate change policy — an undeniable link between increasing greenhouse gases like methane and rising temperatures — and that the government must step in with strict regulations to save the planet. In defiance of computer-model forecasts, there has been an 18-year ‘pause’ in the warming trend even as heat-trapping gas was supposed to have billowed across the landscape. The contradiction between prediction and measurement has the look of a well-cooked hypothesis.
“Stubborn environmentalists reached a different conclusion from the new study. In an upcoming cover story in The Nation magazine titled ‘Global Warming’s Terrifying New Chemistry,’ Bill McKibben, a ‘climate activist,’ accuses the EPA of failing to block hydraulic fracturing, or fracking, a natural gas drilling technique in which methane sometimes escapes into the air. ‘We need to stop the fracking industry in its tracks, here and abroad,’ he argues.
“This is a convenient argument for opposing fossil fuels in any form, an argument drawn from fantasy, not facts. . .”
Sharona Schwartz, The Blaze: “Netanyahu Sends Sharply Worded Message to Sen. Patrick Leahy About Human Rights and ‘Bloodthirsty Terrorists’”
“Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had sharp words for Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) over a letter the U.S. lawmaker sent to Secretary of State John Kerry suggesting Israeli security forces had committed “gross violations of human rights” in the shooting deaths of Palestinians who Israel said were in the act of perpetrating stabbing attacks.
“The IDF and the Israel Police do not engage in executions. Israel’s soldiers and police officers defend themselves and innocent civilians with the highest moral standards against bloodthirsty terrorists who come to murder them,” Netanyahu said in a statement Wednesday.
“Netanyahu asked Leahy why he hadn’t displayed concern for victims of Palestinian terrorism.
“. . .Politico this week obtained the letter that Leahy and 10 members of Congress sent Kerry dated Feb. 17 that asked if Israeli and Egyptian military actions could trigger the “Leahy Law,” which prohibits the U.S. from providing assistance to foreign militaries which grossly violate human rights. . .”
Bill Gertz, FreeBeacon: Russia Doubling Nuclear Warheads”
“New multiple-warhead missiles to break arms treaty limit
“Russia is doubling the number of its strategic nuclear warheads on new missiles by deploying multiple reentry vehicles that have put Moscow over the limit set by the New START arms treaty, according to Pentagon officials.
A recent intelligence assessment of the Russian strategic warhead buildup shows that the increase is the result of the addition of multiple, independently targetable reentry vehicles, or MIRVs, on recently deployed road-mobile SS-27 and submarine-launched SS-N-32 missiles, said officials familiar with reports of the buildup.
“The Russians are doubling their warhead output,” said one official. “They will be exceeding the New START [arms treaty] levels because of MIRVing these new systems.”

“‘This crossing is just around the corner, before 2020,’ says the report.
“‘These two age groups will then continue to grow in opposite directions,’ it says. ‘By 2050, the proportion of the population 65 and older (15.6 percent) will be more than double that of children under age 5 (7.2 percent).
“‘This unique demographic phenomenon of the ‘crossing’ is unprecedented,’ says the Census Bureau. . .”

Tyler Durden, ZeroHedge: “All Hell Breaks Loose After Trump Says Women Should Be ‘Punished’ For Illegal Abortions”
“. . . Host Chris Matthews presses Trump on anti-abortion position, repeatedly asking him, “Should abortion be punished? This is not something you can dodge”
- “Look, people in certain parts of the Republican Party, conservative Republicans, would say, ‘Yes, it should,’” Trump answers
- “How about you?” Matthews asks
- “I would say it’s a very serious problem and it’s a problem we have to decide on. Are you going to send them to jail?” Trump says
- “I’m asking you,” Matthews says
- “I am pro-life,” Trump says
- “How do you actually ban abortion?” Matthews asks
- “Well, you go back to a position like they had where they would perhaps go to illegal places but we have to ban it,” Trump says
Matthews then presses Trump on if he believes there should be punishment for abortion if it were illegal
- “There has to be some form of punishment,” Trump says
‘ “For the woman?” Matthews says; “Yeah,” Trump says, nodding
- Trump says punishment would “have to be determined”
- “They’ve set the law and frankly the judges, you’re going to have a very big election coming up for that reason because you have judges where it’s a real tipping point and with the loss of Scalia, who was a very strong conservative, this presidential election is going to be very important,” Trump says
- “When you say what’s the law, nobody knows what the law is going to be. It depends on who gets elected,” Trump says
“Obviously, this was ‘gotcha’ journalism on Matthews’ part (once he established that he was referring to illegal abortions he knew he could pin Trump between having to either say women should be punished or that women could break the law with impunity), and as we saw last year with the whole Kurds/Quds Hugh Hewitt debacle, Trump is susceptible to badgering. The other problem here is that it isn’t clear that Trump truly believes some of the things he’s forced to say as a Republican candidate, which leads to exchanges like that recounted above. ‘Don’t overthink it: Trump doesn’t understand the pro-life position because he’s not pro-life,’ a Cruz aid tweeted. . .”
Katie Glueck, Politico: “They can’t stand Cruz, but they’re voting for him anyway”
“Wisconsin’s Republican establishment is publicly lining up behind Ted Cruz. Privately, it’s killing many of them to do it.
“A substantial slice of Wisconsin Republican party veterans and business leaders can’t stand Cruz’s combative style in the Senate, abhor his hard line on immigration, could do without his heavy religious rhetoric and have misgivings about his general election prospects. But they’re willing to swallow all of that to back their best hope of beating Trump, though some can’t help but pine for “Paul Ryan — or someone like him — coming out of a contested convention.
“Cruz ‘may not be their first choice, but he may be their only choice,’ said Brandon Scholz, a longtime GOP operative who runs a governmental and public affairs shop in Madison. ‘Others who have not been on the Cruz ship are, at least at this point, buying into, Wisconsin is the firewall to stop Trump.’ . . . ”
CBS: “Ted Cruz tries to get John Kasich thrown off Montana ballot”
“Emails obtained by The Associated Press show Cruz campaign officials have raised questions about the 622 signatures submitted by the Kasich campaign. A minimum of 500 valid signatures is required for a presidential candidate to qualify for the Montana ballot.
“The Cruz campaign asserts Kasich’s petition contains signatures with invalid notaries, improper dates, mismatched phone numbers and illegible names, among other potential discrepancies.
“Because John Kasich’s campaign filed only 622 signatures, and the minimum number of signatures required under Montana law is 500, there is a reasonable probability that material defects with his petitions reduce the number of valid signatures below the required minimum,” the campaign said, “and John Kasich is therefore not eligible for placement on the ballot.”
“As of Wednesday, the campaign had not filed a legal challenge.
“Kasich supporters dismissed the claims. . .”

Andrew Napolitano, Reason: “The Clinton Investigation Enters a Dangerous Phase”
“. . . Here is her dilemma.
If she were to talk to federal prosecutors and FBI agents, they would catch her in many inconsistencies, as she has spoken with great deception in public about this case. She has, for example, stated many times that she used the private server so she could have one mobile device for all of her emails. The FBI knows she had four mobile devices. She has also falsely claimed publicly and under oath that she neither sent nor received anything “marked classified.” The FBI knows that nothing is marked classified, and its agents also know that her unprotected secret server transmitted some of the nation’s gravest secrets.
“The prosecutors and agents cannot be happy about her public lies and her repeated demeaning attitude about their investigation, and they would have an understandable animus toward her if she were to meet with them.
“If she were to decline to be interviewed—a prudent legal but treacherous political decision—the feds would leak her rejection of their invitation, and political turmoil would break loose because one of her most imprudent and often repeated public statements in this case has been that she can’t wait to talk to the FBI. That’s a lie, and the FBI knows it.
“Some Democrats who now understand the gravity of the case against Clinton have taken to arguing lately that the feds should establish a different and higher bar—a novel and unknown requirement for a greater quantum of evidence and proof of a heavier degree of harm—before Clinton can be prosecuted. They have suggested this merely because she is the likely Democratic presidential nominee.
“The public will never stand for that. America has a bedrock commitment to the rule of law. . .”
Monica Crowley, Washington Times: “The FBI stalks Hillary while Bill Clinton trolls Obama”
“. . . Former Hillary Clinton IT specialist Bryan Pagliano, a key witness in the investigation into her use of a private server, struck an immunity deal with the Justice Department and apparently has been singing. An intelligence source told Fox News that he has told the FBI a range of details about how her personal email system was set up and maintained. The source described him as a ‘devastating witness.’
“Mr. Pagliano is a pivotal — perhaps the pivotal — key to Mrs. Clinton’s server and what was being done on and through it — and by whom.
“Mr. Pagliano was in charge of server(s) since the 2008 campaign. He was paid $5,000 for “computer services” by the Clintons before he joined the State Department staff. After he started working there in May 2009, Mr. Pagliano continued to receive payments from the Clintons to maintain the server.
“Mr. Pagliano can name all those who had access to the Clinton server and devices and when, and reportedly is doing so, allowing investigators to piece together an evidentiary timeline. It was emphasized to Fox News that Mrs. Clinton’s deliberate “creation” and “control” of the private server used for her official government business is the subject of “intense scrutiny.”
“Mr. Pagliano can also testify to the security of the server and what was told to whom about it. Again, the server has the documents, including the at least 22 top secret and above top secret ones deemed too damaging to national security to publicly release under any circumstances. That is a matter of some risk for Mrs. Clinton. . .”

Janet: Women should get to decide who uses our bathrooms!
“This type of bullying is coming to Pennsylvania, it is here in Harrisburg now. HB 1510 ans SB 974 are in the works and even Senator Scott Wagner is a sponsor.
“It is time to have the voice of the faithful be heard. “We win when we act. Act now. Contact your Representatives and tell them NO on HB 1510 and SB 974.
“How have we reached the point where it is an outrageous statement to say that you would very much prefer that men not use women’s bathrooms, thank you very much? It seems so obvious, so common sense that the notion that we have to make a stand for the safety, privacy, and dignity of women and girls to use their own restrooms unimpeded is mind-blowing. “And yet here we are. On one hand, we are fighting ordinances and legislation that allows people who were born male (but decide to “identify” as something else) to use the same bathrooms, showers, and locker rooms as women and girls. On the other hand, when cities and states stand up to the bullying of the Left and proactively preserve the privacy and dignity of women and girls, they are pressured to conform to this radical agenda by activist groups. “And that’s not the worst of it. Now businesses–corporations that you or I might use or support–are jumping into the fray. “Recently, the NBA, IBM, Paypal, Apple, Facebook, Google, and Sales force all stated their opposition to a North Carolina law that would allow private entities (schools, restaurants, businesses, etc.) to set their own standards, but requires that use of publicly-owned restrooms would be determined by biological sex. The NBA even went so far as to threaten to move the All Star game out of Charlotte to protest the bill. “Wait a minute! This is so insane that it actually bears repeating. The NBA has somehow decided that allowing a tiny minority of men to use women’s bathrooms is so important (and somehow relevant to basketball) that it needs to be an economic bully about it. “There is a time to be eloquent in defense of our rights and liberties. And there is a time to brutal, honest, unflinching, and plain-spoken. . .”

Leo Knepper, CAP: “DEP Secretary’s Math Doesn’t Add Up”
“First, a little background. In 2010, the EPA in Washington, DC imposed regulations governing nutrients that made their way into the Chesapeake Bay. The Susquehanna River is part of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed; giving the EPA authority over nearly half of Pennsylvania’s landmass due to the various tributaries feeding into the Susquehanna. The cost to Pennsylvania taxpayers to meet the EPA’s mandates will be nearly $5.6 billion over the next ten years under the current reduction system.
“Here is where the Secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), John Quigley comes into play.
“Earlier in March, Quigley was questioned about the cost savings Pennsylvania taxpayers might enjoy if the nutrient reduction targets were achieved using competitive bidding via the private sector versus the current model that is driven by large-scale government infrastructure spending. A rebuttal from The Coalition for Affordable Bay Solutions (CABS) neatly summarized the duplicitousness of Quigley’s response:
“‘…[I]f $2 per lb. nitrogen reduction credits from riparian buffers are available to meet the Bay mandate…[then] the total cost to meet the 24 million lbs. of nitrogen mandates would be $48 million annually. Yet the Secretary continues to state that the most reliable estimate of the resources required to meet the mandate is $5.6 billion including operations and maintenance through 2025.’
“The numbers that Quigley uses to argue against competitive bidding total $480 million over ten years, but at the same time, he is stating that the DEP needs more money because the cost will be $5.6 billion in the same period. Both statements cannot be true.
“In further researching the subject, we reviewed a 2013 report completed by the Legislative Budget and Finance Committee (LCBF) that found using a competitive bid process would reduce the cost to taxpayers by 80-85 percent versus maintaining the status quo. It is no surprise that the competitive bidding option would save taxpayers money. However, it is unfortunate that the Secretary of the DEP would oppose a more cost effective method for complying with a federal mandate.”
END NOTE . . .
Mark Levin (3/31/16)
“On Thursday’s Mark Levin show, The FBI is entering the final phase of its investigation against Hillary Clinton. Hillary has made this country more vulnerable to enemies as a result of her actions with her e-mail server. It’s ironic that the leading candidate for the Democratic Party is at the center of a criminal investigation; Ted Cruz and Donald Trump aren’t. Hillary is qualified to be a prisoner, not a President.
“After that, Donald Trump’s answer on abortion shows that he doesn’t have a mature and developed position on it. Trump doesn’t have a lot of developed thoughts on many issues. What America needs is a presidential candidate who knows the issues and can stand their ground on matters of principle. We don’t need more deal makers, we need victory and to restore the Republic.
“Later, Morton Blackwell, President of the Leadership Institute, calls in to talk about the RNC rules.”
