“Where there are no goals, there is no leadership, no direction; no Victory or meaningful survival for a society. Most individuals want no part of this existential debate; they are “good men” who do nothing. They are distracted by immediate challenges which consume them. The urgent overtakes the important. The result is a society of individuals who willingly enslave themselves rather than contemplate a life, and then act to realize that vision.” Copley, 2012, 248.

Kevin Williams, NRO: “In Dallas, Scenes from a GOP Funeral”
“But that is what the Trump movement is about: Murdering the Republican party as a vessel of classical liberalism of the Adam Smith variety and reanimating it, Frankenstein-style, as a vehicle of Anglo identity politics . .”.
“Trump leaves Texas Republicans morose and anxious Dallas — The scene on the sidewalks in the fantastically scuzzy corner of downtown Dallas surrounding the Kay Bailey Hutchison (really!) Convention Center is kind of weird, because there are a few different things going on here, two of which — the Texas state Republican convention and a gathering of lady bodybuilders — produce what would be on its own a pretty strange mix of people, the sometimes pachydermal hindquarters of the old politicos lumbering around from the Texas Right To Life booth to that guy with the clipboard quizzing people about Texas secession contrasting strangely with the linebacker-ish shoulders and canned-ham thighs of the buffed-up young women, but that already-goofy human stew is peppered with a considerable army of Walking Dead–type homeless psychotics muttering to themselves — one of them is shouting at the McDonalds for selling dollar-menu poison, says that she is sure the NSA is listening, turns to me and shouts, “If you see something, say something!” and then breaking (seriously, this happened, right there on Griffin Street) into a medley of “Hard Knock Life” and “Rockin’ in the Free World” — an entire free-range mental ward zombie-marching around in the brilliant Texas sunshine on a glorious May afternoon. . .” http://www.nationalreview.com/article/435401/donald-trump-texas-republicans-hispanic-outreach
Michael Barbaro & Megan Twohey, NYT: “Crossing the Line: How Donald Trump Behaved With Women in Private”
“Interviews reveal unwelcome advances, a shrewd reliance on ambition, and unsettling workplace conduct over decades.
“Donald J. Trump had barely met Rowanne Brewer Lane when he asked her to change out of her clothes.
‘Donald was having a pool party at Mar-a-Lago. There were about 50 models and 30 men. There were girls in the pools, splashing around. For some reason Donald seemed a little smitten with me. He just started talking to me and nobody else.
‘He suddenly took me by the hand, and he started to show me around the mansion. He asked me if I had a swimsuit with me. I said no. I hadn’t intended to swim. He took me into a room and opened drawers and asked me to put on a swimsuit.’
Ms. Brewer Lane, at the time a 26-year-old model, did as Mr. Trump asked. “I went into the bathroom and tried one on,” she recalled. It was a bikini. “I came out, and he said, ‘Wow.’ ”
Mr. Trump, then 44 and in the midst of his first divorce, decided to show her off to the crowd at Mar-a-Lago, his estate in Palm Beach, Fla.
“He brought me out to the pool and said, ‘That is a stunning Trump girl, isn’t it?’ ” Ms. Brewer Lane said.
Donald Trump and women: The words evoke a familiar cascade of casual insults, hurled from the safe distance of a Twitter account, a radio show or a campaign podium. This is the public treatment of some women by Mr. Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee for president: degrading, impersonal, performed. “That must be a pretty picture, you dropping to your knees,” he told a female contestant on “The Celebrity Apprentice.” Rosie O’Donnell, he said, had a “fat, ugly face.” A lawyer who needed to pump milk for a newborn? “Disgusting,” he said.
But the 1990 episode at Mar-a-Lago that Ms. Brewer Lane described was different: a debasing face-to-face encounter between Mr. Trump and a young woman he hardly knew. This is the private treatment of some women by Mr. Trump, the up-close and more intimate encounters. . .”
Adele Nazarian, Breitbart: “Glenn Beck, Anti-Trump Conservatives to Meet with Facebook’s Zuckerberg”
“On Wednesday, billionaire Mark Zuckerberg will hold a meeting with “leading conservatives,” embattled The Blaze head Glenn Beck, and former George W. Bush Administration official and co-host of Fox News Channel’s The Five Dana Perino, at the website’s Menlo Park headquarters to discuss Facebook’s conservative media suppression and censorship scandal.
“Last week it was reported that “anonymous sources at Facebook’s news team have confirmed to Gizmodo that, in addition to suppressing conservative news sources, the company suppresses stories about itself while artificially promoting stories about the Black Lives Matter movement.”
In spite of this, Zuckerberg denies any wrongdoing, stating ‘we have found no evidence that this report is true.’ He is instead planning to hold a session Wednesday where he will essentially “pat conservatives on the head” with a photo-op that is a direct testament to the fact that nothing has changed. It is also quite telling that he has reached out to Beck, who is struggling to remain relevant in the conservative media sphere.
“Beck announced the meeting in a Facebook post on his page early Sunday morning. Beck and Perino will be joined by Arthur Brooks of the American Enterprise Institute, CNN’s S.E. Cupp, and Mitt Romney’s former digital director, Zac Moffatt.”

Rushbo: “Democrat Congressman Writes Tell-All”
“RUSH: Have you heard about this book written by Congressman X? ‘An anonymous congressman has dropped a bombshell election-year book that confirms why Americans hate their national government and have rallied to anti-establishment presidential candidates like Donald Trump. The veteran politician…’ He’s a Democrat, right? He’s a Democrat. He calls himself Congressman X. The book is anonymous. It’s 65 pages. Heck, it’s not even a book. It could be an essay, a manifesto.
“But he ‘lays bare a rotten and corrupt Congress enslaved by lobbyists and interested only in re-election … ‘Like most of my colleagues, I promise my constituents a lot of stuff I can never deliver,’ he admits. ‘But what the hell? It makes them happy hearing it … My main job is to keep my job.’’ (emph added, jb) Well, it’s what Ted Cruz told me the first time I had lunch with him. Cruz laid out for me what it was like when he arrived in the Senate, what he thought it was gonna be and what he found — and he was stunned. He said he couldn’t find very many people that cared about issues of substance at all. . .”
AP: “Israeli leader: Iran mocks WWII Holocaust, prepares another”
“JERUSALEM (AP) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu lashed out at Iran Sunday for staging a Holocaust-themed cartoon contest that mocked the Nazi genocide of six million Jews during World War II and said the Islamic Republic was busy planning for another one.
“Iran has long backed armed groups committed to Israel’s destruction and its leaders have called for it to be wiped off the map. Israel fears that Iran’s nuclear program is designed to threaten its very existence. But Netanyahu said that it not just Iran’s belligerent policies that Israel opposed, but its values.
“‘It denies the Holocaust, it mocks the Holocaust and it is also preparing another Holocaust,’ Netanyahu said at his weekly Cabinet meeting. ‘I think that every country in the world must stand up and fully condemn this.’ . . . ”
NY Post: “The Clinton Sleaze Never Ends”
“In most cases, news that a major presidential candidate’s family charity doled out millions to a for-profit company controlled by the candidate’s longtime friends would be raising lots of eyebrows.
“But this is Bill and Hillary we’re talking about. So it’s just the latest in a long list of disclosures about the slush fund that operates publicly as the Clinton Foundation.
“The foundation is deeply intertwined with the massive wealth they’ve accumulated in the past 15 years — even as its donors have themselves reaped enormous benefits.
“The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that the foundation in 2010 committed $2 billion to Energy Pioneer Solutions, despite IRS rules that say a charity is not “supposed to act in anyone’s private interests.” The ex-president even personally arranged a US Energy Department grant to the company.
“Among the firm’s owners are several longtime Clinton friends — including a wealthy blond divorcée from Chappaqua whose relationship with Bill has long been the subject of speculation. The Journal reports that the foundation even removed the fiscal link from its Web site to avoid calling attention to Bill’s “friendship.”
“So we’re back to that again.”
Washington Examiner: “Clinton Decline: Helpless, Hapless, Hopeless”
“Campaign number crunchers and psephologists, the political accountants by whom Clinton is surrounded, say it is she. But what a hapless, lifeless candidate, incapable of exciting anyone. On the other hand, as Sanders can boast without being controverted, here’s a grizzled old socialist who inspires excitement and high turnout. In polls, he beats Donald Trump by bigger margins than she does.
“Clinton, the second most unpopular major-party nominee in history, relies heavily on Trump being even more unpopular. Even so, he also sparks excitement, and Democrats would feel more comfortable if there were some of that on their side, too.
“Clinton is also precisely the sort of candidate who could blow an easy win. She has no skill at retail politics, and it isn’t just a technical problem. As hard as she tries, she cannot fake the sincerity she so obviously lacks. This, and not just a lack of rhetorical skill, is why she shouts her way monotonously through her lackluster speeches. Anything more subtle would be even more unconvincing.
Clinton’s abysmal personal corruption is a problem that hasn’t been plumbed in the primaries. Yes, her emails have been brought up from time to time (although not by Sanders). But the fact that she put herself above laws on government transparency and secrecy, apparently to shield herself from the scrutiny of voters and the president, is only one issue among many. Hardly anything has been said about the effortless six-figure payouts that she and her husband have gobbled up from people who had something to gain from her service in government.
“If Trump is alarming because he admires Vladimir Putin, what are we to think of candidate Clinton, whose bank account is home to money from Kremlin-linked institutions? If Trump’s finances are shady, what of the candidate whose wealthy donors steered American uranium rights to Russian firms while she served on the panel that approved their activities?”
WND: “The essential guide to Hillary’s high crimes, misdemeanors”
‘We’ve been investigating her longer than the Justice Department’
“. . . Starting with the latest – hot off the presses:
got to know both ‘Billy,’ as she calls him, and ‘Chilly,’ as she calls her. Dolly Kyle knew Bill from the time she was 11 and he was 12. She maintained a close relationship with him right up till his presidential run in 1992. She describes a couple that is racist to the core, anti-Semitic, motivated exclusively by self-interest and prone to punishing anyone who represents a threat – politically or personally. It’s an amazing but true story and a fascinating read by a serious professional writer and former Clinton insider. It’s available right now only in the WND Superstore in hardcover (autographed too) and in e-book form at Amazon. Take your pick. If you’d like a real bargain, snag the hardcover version for just $4.95 and get a year’s worth of either WND’s digital weekly magazine, WND Weekly, or a year’s worth of WND’s monthly print magazine Whistleblower. (Those offers available only to those not currently subscribing.)
“Partners in Crime” by two-time No. 1 New York Times bestselling author Jerome Corsi is up next. This is the newest peek into how the Clintons operate – in broad daylight – as America’s No. 1 crime family. It exposes the way Bill and Hillary use their “family foundation” to shake down foreign donations for their own personal use, avoiding taxes, under the pretense of “charitable work.” It’s a huge scam and Corsi, as always, has the goods on them. Similarly, you can literally steal this book for $4.95 if you agree to subscribe to either WND Weekly or Whistleblower magazine for a year.
The Hillary Clinton Investigative Justice Project is an effort to enlist you in the hard work of exposing this woman. Would you consider giving $10, $50, $100 or more to support investigative reporting into Hillary through what we hope is the end of her political career this November? We’re doing our best. But we need your help. This process is expensive, time-consuming and urgent.
“Clinton Cash: The Untold Story of How and Why Foreign Governments and Businesses Made Bill and Hillary Rich” is another great work by a friend of ours – author Peter Schweizer. It’s a work of great authenticity and we highly recommend it.
We also recommend Ed Klein’s “Unlikeable: The Problem With Hillary.”
Then there is our very own “Hillary Unhinged: In Her Own Words.” It’s a collection of quotes that are unforgettable, unbelievable and thoroughly damning. Got a friend who likes Hillary? Just hand him this one. If you’re not a current subscribe to either Whistleblower Magazine or WND Weekly, it’s yours for just $4.95.
Rick Moran, PJM: “Colleges Requested Not to Ask if ‘Justice-Involved Individuals’ Have a Criminal Record”
“If you’re the parent of a student just entering college, what would you say if you discovered that the school your precious little one has chosen refuses to ask an applicant if he’s been convicted of a crime?
“Just the printable quotes, please.
“The latest scathingly brilliant idea from the Obama administration comes from the Department of Education, which has sent one of its ubiquitous “Dear Colleague” letters to colleges and universities, requesting that administrators refrain from asking a potential student if she’s been convicted of a crime.
“Pardon me. We can’t ask if they’re “criminals.” The latest in doublespeak makes someone with a criminal record a “justice-involved individual.”
“It’s the ‘disparate impact’ of it all, don’t you know. The black crime rate is higher than the white crime rate so, naturally, asking a convicted rapist who may move into the dorm room across the hall from your teenage daughter if he’s a perv is racist through and through. . .”

Joanne Yurchak: Transgendered
“Attached is a “Dear Colleague” letter from the U.S. Department of Justice/Department of Education. It contains detailed “guidance” regarding the transgender issue from the DOJ/DOE. It is extremely informative and provides an excellent insight into the Obama administration’s “thinking.”
“Below is an article by Jane Robbins and Emmett McGroarty on this same issue. IMO, they hit the nail on the head when they say:
“If necessary, give up the federal money. Yes, give it up. For most states, federal funding constitutes less than ten percent of the education budget. Much of that could probably be recouped by not having to comply with the endless federal regulations and the maintenance of federal programs which serve the interests of neither the states nor students. Imagine the freedom of throwing off the federal shackles — and the satisfaction in watching Lynch & Co. sputter and spew in utter impotence.”
“The edicts are coming much too fast and furious from this autocratic administration to ignore them. They typically threaten to withhold money to assure compliance from states. They did it with Common Core, and they will continue until states step up and say “ENOUGH — WE WILL NOT COMPLY!”
PLEASE write to your state AND federal congresspeople and tell them what you think.

Sy Snyder, PoliticsPA: 5/13 Ups & Downs
“Larry Farnese. The 1st district curse strikes again. Henry Cianfrani and Vince Fumo, who collectively represented the Philly State Senate seat from 1967 to 2008, both ended up in prison. On Tuesday, Holly Otterbein of Citified revealed that Larry Farnese had been indicted on thirteen counts. Allegedly, the State Senator spent campaign cash to get a committeewoman daughter’s in a study abroad program. In exchange, she supported Farnese’s successful effort to become the leader of the Eighth Ward. So add Larry Farnese to the long list of recent Democratic officials touched by scandal.
“Kathleen Kane. Speaking of that list, Attorney General Kathleen Kane reappeared in the headlines this week. First, Brad Bumsted of the Tribune-Review uncovered that Kane had billed Pennsylvanians for $252,000 worth of legal representation for the numerous lawsuits she is fighting. Then, the newest Quinnipiac Poll found that a record high 50% of respondents want the AG to resign. Her approval rating also dropped to an all-time low of 23%. It’s getting tough to tell who’s looking forward to 2017 more, Kane or her constituents.
“Barack Obama. Someone who did get good news from the Quinnipiac Poll, though, was the Commander-in-Chief. President Obama’s approval rating jumped five points over a month to 49%. On top of that, 52% approve of Merrick Garland’s Supreme Court nomination and 58% want him to be considered by the Senate. A progressive think tank also found that two-thirds of Pennsylvanians want an up-or-down vote on Garland. It remains to be seen, however, if these numbers will have an effect on Senator Toomey.
“Tom Killion. Killion became Pennsylvania’s 50th State Senator on Wednesday. After spending a decaden in the State House, Killion finally made it to the upper chamber after winning a special election in the 9th district during last April’s primary. Now he has restored the GOP’s majority to the 31-19 margin it stood at after last year’s SD-37 special election.
“Allen West. The former Florida Congressman was a Tea Party star after the 2010 midterms, though his visibility noticeably dimmed after his defeat in 2012. Apparently he has his own website now and chose this week to go after PA’s Physician General Rachel Levine. West’s site tried to use Levine in the debate over the controversial North Carolina bathroom law. Instead, he rallied supporters behind the doctor and his attempt to smear her backfired.”
