Matt Brouillette, Commonwealth Foundation, Subject: Finish strong!

“June 24, 2016

“Dear Representative:

“I know the desire and pressure to finish the FY 2016-17 budget on-time is high, and everyone wants to get out of Harrisburg for the summer.

But I want to encourage you to not just get it done, but to get it done right. Unfortunately, what I’m hearing right now about negotiations is quite discouraging so I wanted to urge you to:

  • Continue standing up for taxpayers—all of them, not just some or most. Resist the temptation to justify certain tax increases because they only harm this or that group. Don’t let Gov. Wolf divide and conquer you, or your constituents, by taxing anyone unfairly or unequally.
  • Refuse to undermine the victories you just secured in the FY 2015-16 budget battle. The taxpayers benefited because you refused to surrender to Gov. Wolf’s demands. Increasing spending by 5% (when inflation is under 1%) and extracting another $1 billion in new/higher taxes from working Pennsylvanians would be a massive give-back of what you just won for them.
  • Don’t accept the hyperbole and heated rhetoric. Remember, last year Gov. Wolf claimed we had a $2.3 billion deficit that would require $4.6 billion in new and higher taxes. He argued that if you failed to close that deficit, raise taxes, and increase spending, you would have to cut “a billion dollars from education, a billion dollars from human services. We’re going to have cuts the likes of which this Commonwealth has not seen in a generation, if ever.”

“You didn’t buy into Gov. Wolf’s wild claims and unreasonable demands. Not only did you balance the budget, but you did so without raising taxes while boosting education and human services spending. Instead of “cutting a billion dollars from education,” you increased it by $250 million (and that’s not counting the additional $550 million in education pension spending). Instead of “cutting a billion dollars from human services,” you increased it by $83 million.

“So as you work to complete the FY 2016-17 budget, I want to encourage you to not just get it done but get it done right. Stand up for taxpayers, build on the good things you accomplished in FY 2015-16, and pass a no-tax, fiscally-responsible budget.

Feel free to uphold your God-given and 2nd Amendment right.

Bring your different American flags. Dress in Colonial garb. Wear your red, white, and blue.

Bring large and easily read posters. Bring banners (we need attendees to hold quite a few that we have). Bring your family. We need proud Americans to throw out 50 pounds of candy, and literature pertaining to our organization.

Hillsdale: Read the Declaration of Independence

“How many Americans do you think have actually read the Declaration of Independence? It’s an important question because the Declaration lays out principles of human freedom—the principles of Liberty—better than anything else. When we forget these principles, we risk losing our freedom.

“Join us this 4th of July in reading the Declaration of Independence together. Pledge to read the Declaration on July 4, 2016, and we will send you a digital copy of the Declaration of Independence to read with your friends and family.

“Take the pledge. Read the Declaration. Celebrate your freedom.”

“To some in the media, the very act of stonewalling is heroic. Confronting congressional investigators makes you a “fighter.” Enduring inquiries and consolidating your base makes you a “survivor.” Bill Clinton used this playbook to escape political accountability for infidelity, perjury, and obstruction of justice. The Obama administration has used it to flush the IRS’s targeting of tea-party groups down the memory hole, transforming one of the most outrageous abuses of power in the modern history of the executive branch into old news in record time.” David French

Rushbo: The Country Class

“RUSH ARCHIVE:  We, in what Mr. Codevilla calls, the country class, meaning not the hick class, but the country, we are the country. The ruling class is a minority, and I have touched on this. We are being ruled, i.e., governed by a minority. Less than 10, 15% of Americans agree with the thought process, the philosophies, the goals and objectives of the ruling class. And we in the country class, we believe in merit. We rise or fall based on merit. We believe that a good GPA is what’s necessary to get you into college.

“We believe that performing well on the job is how you get promoted and how you get paid well. Not true in the ruling class. In fact, that is looked down upon. It’s sort of like the old money versus new money business. The old money, inherited from robber barons of the past, great wealth. The people who inherited it don’t do anything for it, but it has great lineage. People who have earned great wealth rather than having inherited it are shunned by the old-money people because it’s working class to have earned money.

“It’s just not done. It’s considered gauche, it’s considered filthy. And it’s much the same way with merit throughout the ruling class. You don’t have to be the best. In fact, if you do the right things and say the right things, you can be an abject failure meritocracy-wise and still be promoted.

“This resonated with me in so many ways. I grew up wanting to be in radio, and when I moved to New York in 1988 my objective was to become the most listened to person on radio. Not top five, not top ten, but the most listened to. And I did it. It didn’t count for anything with those people. And yet there are people who never have had any audience, who still don’t have any audience, who are widely accepted members of the ruling class, who are considered very powerful simply because they walk the walk, they talk the talk, they kiss the right rear ends and do all of this.

“But the point is these people are a minority, and they have no relationship to the rest of us in the country class. And somehow we are now being ruled by these people. We’re not being governed. We’re being ruled by them. And they have certain beliefs right now. Among them is that the United States is the problem in the world. Among them is that those of us not in the ruling class haven’t the smarts, haven’t the ability to know what’s best for ourselves. They have to do it for us. . .“

America’s Ruling Class — And the Perils of Revolution

“Never has there been so little diversity within America’s upper crust. Always, in America as elsewhere, some people have been wealthier and more powerful than others. But until our own time America’s upper crust was a mixture of people who had gained prominence in a variety of ways, who drew their money and status from different sources and were not predictably of one mind on any given matter. The Boston Brahmins, the New York financiers, the land barons of California, Texas, and Florida, the industrialists of Pittsburgh, the Southern aristocracy, and the hardscrabble politicians who made it big in Chicago or Memphis had little contact with one another. Few had much contact with government, and “bureaucrat” was a dirty word for all. So was “social engineering.” Nor had the schools and universities that formed yesterday’s upper crust imposed a single orthodoxy about the origins of man, about American history, and about how America should be governed. All that has changed.

“Today’s ruling class, from Boston to San Diego, was formed by an educational system that exposed them to the same ideas and gave them remarkably uniform guidance, as well as tastes and habits. These amount to a social canon of judgments about good and evil, complete with secular sacred history, sins (against minorities and the environment), and saints. Using the right words and avoiding the wrong ones when referring to such matters — speaking the “in” language — serves as a badge of identity. Regardless of what business or profession they are in, their road up included government channels and government money because, as government has grown, its boundary with the rest of American life has become indistinct. Many began their careers in government and leveraged their way into the private sector. Some, e.g., Secretary of the Treasury Timothy Geithner, never held a non-government job. Hence whether formally in government, out of it, or halfway, America’s ruling class speaks the language and has the tastes, habits, and tools of bureaucrats. It rules uneasily over the majority of Americans not oriented to government.

“The two classes have less in common culturally, dislike each other more, and embody ways of life more different from one another than did the 19th century’s Northerners and Southerners — nearly all of whom, as Lincoln reminded them, ‘prayed to the same God.’ By contrast, while most Americans pray to the God ‘who created and doth sustain us,’ our ruling class prays to itself as ‘saviors of the planet’ and improvers of humanity. Our classes’ clash is over ‘whose country’ America is, over what way of life will prevail, over who is to defer to whom about what. The gravity of such divisions points us, as it did Lincoln, to Mark’s Gospel: ‘if a house be divided against itself, that house cannot stand.’. . .”

Martha Raddatz et al., ABC: “Benghazi Committee Releases Final Report”

“. . . The report rebuts some findings of the previous investigations and focuses on the administration’s initially blaming the attacks on an anti-Muslim video posted on YouTube.

“Benghazi, Libya, was a terrorist haven, and so those folks who were involved in not protecting these Americans certainly should be held accountable,” committee member Rep. Mike Pompeo, R-Kan., told ABC News in an interview. ‘The folks who told a wolf tale, a lie in the aftermath of the attacks, who told the American people a political tale about a YouTube video ought [to] also be accountable.’

“The report described how officials, including Clinton, focused on the video in a high-level meeting the evening of the attacks.

Democrats on the committee were not allowed to co-author the report and accused the majority of shutting them out of the drafting and interview process. . .”

Also – WSJ: “Clinton’s Benghazi Cover Story”

“She wonders why she’s so distrusted. Here’s the reason.

Democrats have succeeded in persuading the Washington press corps that what happened when four Americans died at Benghazi, Libya, on Sept. 11, 2012 isn’t a story. But the House report released Monday about that night and its aftermath contains details that ought to concern Americans who care about political accountability. . .”

David French, NRO: “The Benghazi Debacle Should Have Ended Hillary Clinton’s Career”

“Clinton’s State Department failed to adequately protect its diplomats in Libya, with the Obama administration so intent on avoiding “boots on the ground” in the aftermath of its Libyan air war that it left Americans dangerously exposed even as the jihadist threat was plainly and clearly ramping up. The report details at least ten previous terror attacks in Benghazi, including two IED attacks on the American compound, yet the State Department had decreased its security there in the months before Ambassador Chris Stevens and four others were killed.
“Obama’s Pentagon failed to mobilize assets to protect those same Americans even as they endured an hours-long assault on September 11, 2012. One of the most painful elements of the report is its description of exactly how difficult it was for the Pentagon to ramp up even the quick-strike elements of the most powerful military in the history of the world. Fighters were in one location, tankers in another. Ground assets were in one place, air transport in another. It took hours for clear commands from the White House and Pentagon to filter sufficiently far down the ranks to spur actual military activity.
“Then, confronted with the damage afterward, the administration lied, repeatedly. . .”

Byron York, Washington Examiner: “Polls are telling Donald Trump the truth, but he’s not listening”

“Polls used to tell Donald Trump something. They told him he was winning the Republican primary race, that his message and style were connecting with voters, that he was more popular than any of his rivals.

“Trump talked about polls all the time, at his rallies, his news conferences, his interviews with reporters. Day and night, it was polls, polls, polls.

“And by the way, the polls were right — and Trump was right about the polls. He really was winning the GOP race.

“Now the polls are telling Trump something else. He’s not winning. He’s behind Hillary Clinton by a substantial amount in national polls and by smaller amounts in key state polls. The polls tell him he is in deep trouble with major voting groups — like Republicans, and women — without whose substantial support he can’t win.

“Hillary Clinton is 6.8 points ahead of Trump in the RealClearPolitics average of polls. Another way of looking at that is Trump is farther behind Clinton now than Mitt Romney ever was at any time after clinching the 2012 Republican nomination. And Romney, as Trump has reminded the world many, many times, lost.

“Clinton has led Trump in every single one of the last 21 polls in the RealClearPolitics average. . .”

But . . . Quinnipiac: June 29, 2016 – Hate Winning, As Clinton-Trump Race Too Close To Call, Quinnipiac University National Poll Finds; Neither Candidate Would Be Good President, Voters Say”

“Democrat Hillary Clinton has 42 percent to Republican Donald Trump’s 40 percent – too close to call – as American voters say neither candidate would be a good president and that the campaign has increased hatred and prejudice in the nation, according to a Quinnipiac University National poll released today.
“This compares to results of a June 1 national poll by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN- uh-pe-ack) University, showing Clinton edging Trump 45 – 41 percent.
“When third party candidates are added to today’s survey, Clinton gets 39 percent with Trump at 37 percent. Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson gets 8 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein gets 4 percent. . .”

“. . . Border agent Chris Cabrera, also vice president of the National Border Patrol Council 3307, said the respiratory disease tuberculosis is encountered “pretty regularly,” and that little has been done to improve the quarantine areas where illegals who harbor communicable diseases are detained.

“We see tuberculosis pretty regularly. Scabies – more often than not we have large amounts of infectious diseases as far as scabies go,” the border patrol council spokesperson stated. “And the interesting part with that is it’s not actually seen on the body during the infectious period. And so these people clear through our system and then they go into the rest of the country with that disease.”

“We see a lot of measles, a lot of chickenpox a lot of unidentified illnesses, a lot of lung infections that we don’t even know what we have no idea what they are.”

Cabrera had claimed in 2014 that detainment facilities were lacking in adequate medical resources, describing areas cordoning off sick illegal immigrants as little more than a yellow strip of caution tape. . .”

Brittany Hughes, MRC TV: “EXCLUSIVE: Obama Admin. Dumps 4,000 More Alien Kids into the U.S.”

“According to data recently released by the Office of Refugee Settlement, the Obama administration dumped another4,097 illegal alien kids into U.S. communities during the month of April, adding on to the 29,250 kids the government had shipped to sponsors in the United States between October and March.

Broken down, this means the federal government sent about 132 illegal alien children per day to live in American neighborhoods during the month of April.

While this might not seem like a shockingly high number, here’s another way of looking at it. Based on 2015-16 enrollment data, the average Washington, D.C. middle school holds about 550 students. So in other words, the number of illegal alien kids the federal government processed and released in April alone would max out seven Washington, D.C. middle schools. . .”

Alex Swoyer, Breitbart: “Trump Campaign Details 49 Blistering Allegations about Hillary Clinton”

“On Friday, presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump’s campaign released the “Top 50 Facts about Hillary Clinton” that Trump detailed in his speech last Wednesday. Each assertion the Trump campaign lists is presented with government reports and/or media reports.

“After Breitbart’s review, the 49 allegations, as number 11 was omitted in press release, listed by the Trump campaign mostly relate to Clinton’s involvement in “disastrous” trade deals for the United States as well as questionable decisions and interactions with foreign affairs — especially criticizing her decisions and involvement with interventions in the Middle East.

“Below is the list of 49 facts presented by the Trump campaign and a brief summary of the details reviewed by Breitbart News, which were noted in the 35-page press release that can be read in more detail here:

Gary Bryne: Clinton’s Crisis of Character

Thx  Ted!

Former Secret Service officer Gary Byrne, author of the new book Crisis of Character, which examines Hillary Clinton’s conduct under his watch, appeared on Monday’s broadcast of FOX News Channel’s Hannity. Byrne talked Hillary Clinton’s temperament, her “terrified staff,” Bill Clinton carrying on affairs, drug use in the White House and more with host Sean Hannity.
“Byrne said Clinton was feared by her staff and was notorious for her yelling. Byrne told Hannity that she has “blown up” at him and other Secret Service agents.
“She gets angry at things that are policy issues that, you know, take time to fix, and she’s got this attitude where she wants things fixed right now, immediately. She screams and yells at people,” Byrne said in an interview aired Monday night.
“There’s many examples that I site in my book where she blows up at people,” Byrne said. “Like I’ve said, she has blown up at me before, and agents, and her staff. At one time, I saw her staff so afraid to tell her about a mistake that was made. They weren’t upset about the waste of the mistake, ordering the wrong invitations, they were terrified that someone was going to have to tell Hillary Clinton that there was a mistake made.”
“Byrne says Clinton’s behavior during his tenure in the Secret Service proved to him that she does not have the temperament for the Oval office.

“BYRNE: I feel so strongly that people need to know the real Hillary Clinton and how dangerous she is in her behavior. She is not a leader. She is not a leader.
SEAN: She does not have the temperament?
BYRNE: She doesn’t have the temperament. She didn’t have the temperament to handle the social office when she was First Lady, she does not have the temperament.
SEAN: She’s dishonest.
BYRNE: She’s dishonest, she habitually lies, anybody that can separate themselves from their politics and review her behavior over the past 15 years…
SEAN: You’re going to be accused of being political.
BYRNE: Absolutely I’m sure I will be, I have already and it’s not.
SEAN: And what’s your answer?
Byrne: It’s got nothing to do as politics.

“Byrne wrote about then-President Bill Clinton’s behavior, accusing him of carrying on multiple affairs and gave his perspective on the Monica Lewinsky affair and the scandal as it was happening. Byrne talked about several different affairs and how the Secret Service was expected to clean up after him.
HANNITY: How many women do you know, for sure, that he had affairs with in the Oval Office?
BYRNE: In the White House complex? I’d say easily three, maybe four, that I know of.
HANNITY: And you could see Monica Lewinsky from a mile away?
BYRNE: Sure. Sure.
HANNITY: You knew she wanted to be near him.
BYRNE: She was certainly manipulated some of the staff, other officers, myself to find out where he was—
HANNITY: She wasn’t manipulating if you saw through it.
BYRNE: Yeah, I agree. But I saw through it right away, but she was trying to place herself in his path, as he would move throughout the complex.

Byrne talks drug use in the White House:
HANNITY: Before I get into all the issues involving Bill and Hillary and what she knew and didn’t know and covering up and lying and you being put in the middle of all this. People use drugs the at the White House?
BYRNE: There were some issues. One of the ones I comment in my book, and I’m very careful not to tell too much about it because I don’t want — hopefully this person got on with their lives and lived a healthy life. But there was one particular staff member that they had come in in the morning, and they’d be so beat up and exhausted looking, worn out, exhausted to the point where they couldn’t be seen saying good morning. And they’d go in their office and go the bathroom and come out of the bathroom completely elevated and happy and smiling.
HANNITY: It was obvious you thought coke was being used?
BYRNE: I did. And later on, I was told that this particular person actually, they did something similar to an intervention and got her help and got her to a clinic, and I never did see her again. But I understand she did all right. . .”

Jenny Beth Martin: IRS

“. . . Initially, the IRS reported that there were 298 groups targeted, but NOW we’ve uncovered thatat least 426 groups were targeted by this corrupt agency!

This breaking news is proof that the entire IRS is corrupt and that we have got to continue our fight to expose the wrongdoings within the agency and hold them accountable. Can you dig deep and send the most you can right away? Whether it’s $25, $50, $100, or $250, we need whatever you can spare!

“The pressure we’ve put on Congress to expose the IRS, led by Obama stooge John Koskinen, has gotten us this far… but now we have to make sure we oust the Commissioner and get to the bottom of this once and for all.

“The 426 figure is much higher than the initially reported number of 298, and it’s taken us three years just to get this information out of the IRS!

“Sixty of the groups targeted have the word “tea” in their name, 33 have “patriot,” eight refer to the Constitution, and another 26 have “liberty” in their name.

“The federal government has been working to systematically curtail our right to Free Speech, and we cannot let them get away with it. This clear bias against conservative, Tea Party groups is outrageous and cannot be tolerated.

“And I am certain as long as Commissioner Koskinen, who’s misled Congress and hidden evidence during their investigation, is still leading this corrupt agency, there is certainly targeting of groups still occurring.

Can you help us get to the bottom of this scandal and stop the IRS from trying to take away our First Amendment rights?

The Glock at my Door

Thx Barb!

“Today, I placed my Glock 9 pistol on the table right next to my front door. I left its clip beside it, then left it alone and went about my business. While I was gone, the mailman delivered my mail, the neighbor’s son across the street mowed the yard, a girl walked her dog down the street, and quite a few cars stopped at the stop sign near the front of my house.
“After about an hour, I checked on the gun. It was quietly sitting there, right where I had left it. It had not moved itself outside. It had not killed anyone. Certainly, even with the numerous opportunities it had presented to do that. In fact, it had not even loaded itself. Well you can imagine my surprise, with all the hype by the Left and the media, about how dangerous guns are and how ‘They’ kill people. Either the media is wrong, or I’m in possession of the laziest gun in the world.
“The United States is 3rd in murders throughout the world. But if you take out just 5 ‘left-wing’ cities: Chicago, Detroit, Washington DC, St Louis and New Orleans — the United States is 4th from the bottom, in the ENTIRE world, for murders. These 5 cities are controlled by Democrats. They also have the toughest gun control laws in the USA. It would be absurd to draw any conclusions from this data?
Well, I’m off to check on my spoons. I hear they’re making people fat.”

Women compete for men and one bargaining tactic is her sexual availability. Women who “put out” and do so with noise get more choices with whom to share her endorphins. Getting laid has momentary pleasure but, more subtly, produces enduring bonds. (My own history was to fall “in love” after the third round of sex!)

Abortion, however, allows the woman to be more sexually available and either partner to have more freedom to say “no” if she gets pregnant.

SCOTUS has decided that abortion is not a real medical procedure, specialized training and back up clinical interventions are rarely needed, and a woman can escape the clutches not only of a man but also of his offspring that would have traveled in her belly.

This morality is translated into “women’s rights.” STDs abound. In seriatum partnerships mark urban societies. Population crashes. Toys multiply. And our civilization expires because toys always dominate children . . .
