Kathryn  Ferro: MontCo Tax Hikes

“I hope that this message finds you all well! This Thursday, Dec. 1st, the Montgomery County Council will be holding two hearings in regards to the proposed property tax hike that is in the county’s budget for the next fiscal year. The hearings will be at 11:30am and 4pm. The proposed tax hike is 11%, and the council claims it will cover costs for Montgomery County Community College. However, it will also cover a pay increase for non-union public employees and a contribution to the county surplus, absorb health care costs, and increase funding for the 911 system. This will increase the county’s budget from $391 million in the previous fiscal year to $409 million for the upcoming year, accounting for an $18 million spending increase. You can read more about the tax hike proposal here: or here:

Montgomery County Commissioner Joe Gale has requested that there be some activists present to voice opposition to the tax increases. The council meetings are held at One Montgomery Plaza which is at 425 Swede St., Norristown, PA 19401. The hearing will be held inside the Montgomery County Courthouse, on the 8th floor in the Commissioner’s board room. I hope some of you are able to attend one of these meetings; it is a great way to voice your opposition to these tax hikes. Please let me know if you plan to attend and I hope to see you on Thursday!

Subject: Citizens for Liberty: “One Cowboy’s Daughter Standing For Freedom”

“One of our board members, Karen Drum, is a friend of the late LaVoy Finicum family (as well as Citizens for Liberty’s friends, Cliven and Carol Bundy). You all remember that LaVoy was murdered in Oregon by the FBI, as they teamed up with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), while he was protecting his land that the government was trying to seize, for its uranium.

LaVoy’s daughter, Challice Finicum Finch, her husband, and their four children, want to come and talk to US about this horrific ordeal, and the imprisoned political prisoners for helping her father.

She will speak on WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 7, 7 until 9p.m. (doors open at 6:30), at the King of Prussia Volunteer Fire Company, 170 Allendale Road. This is NOT a Citizens for Liberty event, however, we are honored to sponsor this via “Liberty Rising in Pennsylvania” and hosted by Challice of “One Cowboy’s Daughter Standing For Freedom.”

This is NOT a potluck dinner buffet event. Light refreshments will be provided.

Will you come and show your support to this family? What an honor this is. We are on pins and needles!

Victor Davis Hanson, NRO: “A Party of Teeth-Gnashers”

The broken record of racism/sexism/homophobia plays on and on and on.
“After the Democratic equality-of-opportunity agenda was largely realized (Social Security, Medicare, overtime, a 40-hour work week, disability insurance, civil rights, etc.), the next-generation equality-of-result effort has largely failed.

“What is left of Democratic ideology is identity politics and assorted dead-end green movements as conservation has become radical environmentalism and fairness under the law is now unapologetic redistributionism. The 2016 campaign and the frenzied reaction to the result are reminders that the Left is no longer serious about formulating and advancing a practical agenda. In sum, for now it is reduced to a party of teeth-gnashers.
“The Podesta archive, when coupled with the pay-for-play Clinton Foundation, summed up the liberal ideology: progressive platitudes as cover for an elite’s pursuit of power and influence. Examine a coastal Democratic establishmentarian, and there is little discernable difference in his lifestyle, income, or material tastes from those conservatives (usually poorer) whom he accuses of all sorts of politically incorrect behaviors. Self-righteous outrage is a Democratic selling point and a wise career move for journalists, academics, bureaucrats, and politicians.
“Without an ideology that even remotely matched the life she led, Hillary Clinton could only run a campaign without consistent positions. She flipped on the Keystone pipeline and trade agreements. She refuted the entire 1990s Clinton economic and social agenda. Indeed, her positions of 2008 — anti–gay marriage, border enforcement, and rural populism — were the very positions that she smeared others for embracing in 2016. In 2008, Clinton damned Obama for his ‘clingers’ speech; in 2016, she trumped him with her deplorables and irredeemables.
“She both derided Wall Street and was enriched by it. Her 2008 brief flirtation with the white working classes as a modern Annie Oakley came full circle in 2016, with exultant promises to put coal miners out of work. In the end, Hillary had no ideology other than getting even richer by leveraging the office of secretary of state and pandering to identity politics in hopes that record numbers of women and minorities would vote for a 68-year-old white multimillionaire, much as they had voted for Barack Obama. The more she talked of the LGBT or Latino communities, apparently the more we were to think that the Clintons had subverted their offices and reputations to grift a $150 million personal fortune for the underprivileged. . .”

Rushbo: “From Fake News Conspiracies to the Jill Stein Recount, the Left Is Trying to Delegitimize Trump’s Presidency”

“. . .They are doing everything they’re doing to delegitimize the Trump election right now, and then they will move forward to try to delegitimize the Trump presidency.  That is what all of this is about.  Now, with the Jill Stein recount, there’s much more than that going on, but that is part of it.  The delegitimizing of the Trump election, his victory and his upcoming presidency.  Just look at it as a replay of Florida 2000 with different circumstances.

“This recount that she’s mounted here is such a scam, and it’s such a fraud on so many levels.  But its secret purpose — and there might be two or three secret purposes — the overall primary reason for it, outside of raising money for Jill Stein — you know what this also could be?  It could also be a trial balloon for Obama to see how easy he could get rich like the Clintons did when they left office.  I mean, if there are this many ticked-off Democrats willing to send in thousands of dollars at the first conspiracy note, imagine how Obama might be salivating out there at the opportunity he’s got to become Obama Inc.

“Now, this fake news business, let me tell you why it’s even a factor. It’s the same thing I said here at the opening of the program.  I don’t know what to believe in the mainstream media anymore.  My instinct is to not believe any of it, and it’s their fault.  They got this ball rolling.  They are the people, I hate to say this ’cause I like this guy, Jim Rutenberg at the New York Times, we highlighted the story he wrote sometime this past summer.

“A front-page article in the New York Times pretty much encouraging journalists to throw objectivity out the window, throw it aside, because the circumstances are so dire. The candidacy of Donald Trump and the potential election of Donald Trump so dire, circumstances so extreme that they had to throw out all the rules, all the objectivity, all the fairness, they had to become activists.  They had to become advocates.  They had to become opinion journalists.  And they did.  The New York Times urged the media.  And never were objective and they never were fair.  All that was a pretense and an illusion.

“But they threw the illusion out the window.  So when the Drive-By Media, led by the New York Times, openly encourages itself and others to cast aside the time-honored traditions and rules and principles of journalism, when they admit they’re gonna become fake news, how can you blame anybody else for getting into it? . . .”

“. . .Is it really wise to import Muslims from the most backward, violent and jihad-addled parts of the Islamic world?. . .” John Schindler

David French, NRO: “It’s Time for Honest Talk about Muslim Immigration”

“Some immigrants from jihad zones will be involved in murdering Americans. Is this an acceptable price for compassion?
“When we survey the American experience since 9/11, two undeniable truths emerge, and it’s past time that we grapple head-on with them. First, the vast majority of Muslim immigrants — no matter their country of origin — are not terrorists. They won’t attack anyone, they won’t participate in terrorist plots, and they abhor terrorism. Some even provide invaluable information in the fight against jihad. That’s the good news.
“The bad news is the second truth: Some Muslim immigrants (or their children) will either attempt to commit mass murder or will actually succeed in killing and wounding Americans by the dozens. All groups of immigrants contain some number of criminals. But not all groups of immigrants contain meaningful numbers of terrorists. This one does. It’s simply a fact.
“Moreover, there isn’t an even geographic distribution of terrorists. We don’t have as many terrorist immigrants from Indonesia, India, or Malaysia as we do from Pakistan, Afghanistan, Somalia, or from the conflict zones in the Middle East. It’s much less risky to bring into the country a cardiologist from Jakarta than a refugee from Kandahar.
“If the Democrats wish to maintain immigration from jihadist conflict zones, they need to rid their rhetoric of the language of “Islamophobia” and tell the truth. If they want to continue admitting refugees from jihad zones, they need to make the case that meeting the humanitarian needs of an an extremely small fraction of the world’s Muslim refugees is worth the cost of importing a small number of mass murderers. They must make the case that the human toll in America is the price we must pay for national compassion. . .”

“After receiving static for thinking of Romney, Trump moves toward Petraeus

“After Trump voters appealed to Trump NOT to select Romney as Sec. of State, Trump met with General Petraeus today as Trump’s team said he was a strong contender for the position.

Trump needs to hear quickly from his supporters about this globalist successor to Kissinger & Brzezinski.”

John Schindler, Observer: “It’s Almost Too Late to Get Serious about Jihadism”

“It’s happened again. Yesterday, on the campus of Ohio State University, an angry young man used his car as a weapon, plowing through a group of bystanders, whom he then attacked with a butcher knife. Eleven innocent people were injured, though mercifully all are expected to make a full recovery.

“This time, we got lucky. A campus cop was on-scene within a minute and, when the madman running amok refused to follow orders to drop his knife, the policeman opened fire, killing him before he struck lethally. Which was clearly his intent, as described by a student who witnessed the event unfold: “He seemed like a crazed animal. He seemed like he was determined. He seemed like he was there for one reason—to do as much damage as he could.”

“Before any facts were established, the left-wing online outrage machine went into overdrive, like clockwork, with Democratic politicians and activists denouncing their usual suspects. One was Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, recently the Democratic vice-presidential nominee, who tweeted, “Deeply saddened by the senseless act of gun violence at Ohio State this morning.” Countless fervent Social Justice Warriors took to social media to express their deep hope that the shooter was a white racist—presumably inspired by President-elect Donald Trump and his message of “hate.”

“Embarrassingly for the Left, the failed spree killer in Columbus turned out to have no gun at all. Worse for the liberal smart-set, he was a Somali refugee—hardly a redneck domestic terrorist. The disappointment felt online was palpable as it turned out the perpetrator was a Muslim of color, plus an immigrant to boot. He seemed to be practically a caricature drawn from Trump’s repeated warnings about the dangers posed by importing Muslims to America.

“Virtually every liberal cliché was on display here. . .”

Kevin Williamson, NRO: “The Golden Age of Mass Delusion”

“. . .Texas has passed a regulation requiring that human corpses be disposed of in accordance with the state’s regulation for the disposal of human corpses. That this exercise in tautology was necessary — and that it is controversial — is a reminder that we live in the golden age of mass delusion.

“The underlying question here, which properly understood isn’t a question at all, has to do with abortion, and what it is that an abortion does. The biological answer to that question is straightforward: An abortion is a procedure in which a physician or another party kills a living human organism, either prior to birth or in the course of inducing a birth. About the three relevant criteria — 1) living, 2) human, 3) organism — there is no serious question: The tissue is living tissue, not dead tissue; it is human tissue, not rutabaga or koala bear tissue; it is arranged into an individual organism rather than an organ or a tumor or an extension of the maternal body.

“Because the biology is straightforward, maintaining the fiction that abortion is something other than the premeditated killing of a living human being requires a retreat into poorly wrought metaphysics. The same people who will lecture you about science eight days a week inexplicably embrace pre-modern superstitious notions of “ensoulment” and work up some fine angels-dancing-on-the-head-of-a-pin material about “personhood,” the legal construction one uses when one is trying one’s best not to notice that what happens in an abortion is killing and that what is killed is a distinct and individual human being.
“The abortion ethic is based on a lie: that the procedure involves nothing more than the elimination of a meaningless clump of cells. That lie is bound up in a nest of lies of which it is one particularly poisonous constituent, all of which are aimed at denying the relationship between sex and procreation or at denying the deep and wide-ranging consequences of attempting to disrupt that relationship. And that larger tangle of lies is itself only a constituent of an even more sprawling mess of confusion and deceit holding that men and women are interchangeable social units, that motherhood and fatherhood are social fictions that were dreamt up rather than evolved, and that you, Sunshine, and your desires are the very center of this universe.

“The dead baby in the surgical tray makes all that nonsense rather hard to sustain.

Robert Spencer, PJM: “Who Will Blink First: Iran, or Trump?”

“Assuming that Hillary Clinton will not find some last-ditch bit of Clintonesque chicanery that will put her in the White House after all, Donald Trump will likely be inaugurated president come January 20, and he will have an ultimatum waiting for him.

“The Ayatollah Khamenei warned the day before Thanksgiving that if the U.S. dared to extend sanctions on Iran, the Islamic Republic would retaliate. President-elect Trump, meanwhile, has vowed to cancel the deal altogether, which would almost certainly include restored and new sanctions.

“Who will blink first?

“The House of Representatives already set the confrontation on course last week, when it reauthorized the Iran Sanctions Act (ISA) for ten years. This was an almost entirely symbolic move, however, as the ISA will expire at the end of this year unless the Senate approves it and Barack Obama signs it — and Obama is about as likely to do that as he is to put on a Make America Great Again cap. . .”

William McGurn, WSJ: “The War That Dare Not Speak Its Name”

“For all his promises to get America out, Obama’s legacy is a renewed war in Iraq.

“When David Petraeus appeared Monday at Trump Tower for a meeting with the president-elect, the headlines naturally fixated on whether the retired Army general and former CIA chief would serve as secretary of state for the incoming administration.

“Certainly Mr. Trump’s choice here will be one of his most consequential cabinet picks. But the appearance of Mr. Petraeus carries an even more striking implication. Because his presence is a reminder of a painful truth that Mr. Trump, Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton all found easier to ignore throughout the 2016 election campaign.

“The truth is this: America is still at war in Iraq. . .”

Investors: “Bye-Bye, ObamaCare: Tom Price to Head HHS”

“ObamaCare: Tom Price, the Republican congressman and former physician from Georgia, has been named by Donald Trump to head the Department of Health and Human Services. For those who harbored any doubts about Trump’s commitment to repealing ObamaCare, you can now rest easy.

“Price, a former orthopedic surgeon, is known as Congress’ most astute critic of the Affordable Care Act, having practiced medicine himself and understanding fully its many flaws. He will be ready on Day One to find a way to replace the 2010 health care law, which was passed by Democrats without a single Republican vote.

“We’re sure of this because he’s already put forward a workable plan, the Empowering Patients First Act, that would vastly improve our nation’s health care system without nationalizing it — something that ObamaCare was designed to do eventually.

“Price’s plan is ‘a highly detailed legislative proposal that would repeal the Affordable Care Act and replace it with patient-centered provisions that would control costs and expand coverage in the private health insurance markets,’ said Robert Moffitt, a senior fellow in The Heritage Foundation’s Center for Health Policy Studies. . .”

Mark Levin (11/29/16)

“On Tuesday’s Mark Levin show, When it comes to Donald Trump’s cabinet, it’s make the Establishment and Goldman Sachs great again. With the nomination of Elaine Chao, the wife of Sen. Mitch McConnell, for Secretary of Transportation and Steven Mnuchin, a former Goldman Sachs employee, for Treasury Secretary, it’s quite obvious that President-elect Trump and the Republican Establishment are now partners.

“This is not Trump draining the swamp, this is the swamp draining Trump. Conservatives need to be more vigilant than ever. Has anyone seen any Sen Ted Cruz supporters nominated for cabinet positions? Trump hasn’t had a good appointment since Mike Flynn, Jeff Sessions, and Mike Pompeo. At the end of the day personnel is policy. Without principled and loyal cabinet secretaries the Trump administration is putting itself in a failing position. “After that, there is no mandate for populism, nationalism, and big government who picks winners and losers. . It was conservatives near the end who decided the winner of this election; we were the neithers.

“Later, Kellyanne Conway said the Trump election was a landslide. This is not the case as Trump is 44th in a line of presidents who won the Electoral College. He won 56.9% of the Electoral College and this is not a landslide by any historical measure.”
