Janet: Obama Care:
There are no more excuses for not repealing Obamacare. Establishment Republicans are, nonetheless, dragging their feet on what was a major campaign promise. We are hearing that liberals are calling Congress in massive numbers to ensure the survival of socialist medicine and the ‘death panel’. Conservatives must act asap.
The deadline to repeal Obamacare, with the reconciliation process that allows passage in the Senate with only 51 votes (Republicans have 52), is April 28, 2017.
Please be aware that repeal must come first, then, replace. A transition period is included in the repeal effort that gives Obamacare insurers and insured the time to transition to a replacement plan. Combining repeal and replace significantly jeopardizes the repeal process.

“4:30PM ET – Ami Horowitz, Satirist and Documentarian has caused a stir with the footage of the migrant crisis happening in Sweden, and all across Europe. The increase in crime, violent attacks and particularly sexually offenses against women and children are devastating. The President mentioned Ami’s information over the weekend, and since then the alt left media has been misreporting non-stop. The latest is the NY Times who ran a story on Ami Horowitz, saying that he was unavailable for comment, when in fact he was never approached or asked for comment. How many more lies is the NY Times ready to tell? And while the PC left attempts to deny the terror in the streets in Sweden, the actions of migrants are taking over:
Riots erupted in a heavily immigrant Stockholm suburb Monday night, as masked looters set cars ablaze and threw rocks at cops, injuring one police officer, Swedish officials said. The violence in Rinkeby began around 8 p.m., when officers arrested a suspect at an underground station on drug charges, The Local reported. A group soon gathered, hurling rocks and other objects at officers and prompting one cop to fire his gun “in a situation that demanded he use his firearm,” police spokesman Lars Bystrom said. 5:05PM ET – James O’Keefe, founder of Project Veritas and Ryan Grim, of the Huffington Post, join to debate and discuss the constant barrage of attacks against the President. Now, the spotlight has turned to the First Lady who dared to recite a prayer at the beginning of a speech. Wasn’t it Barack Hussein Obama, who said A Salaam Alaikum while giving a speech as President? This and many other examples of media bias will be the focus of today’s discussion.
Ryan Grim & Michael Calderone, Huffington Post: “James O’Keefe Threatens to Release ‘Hundreds of Hours’ of Leaked Newsroom Footage Soon” (Starts tomorrow!)
“Conservative provocateur James O’Keefe III said on Tuesday that he will soon release “hundreds of hours” of unaired footage secreted out of a major news organization.
“The footage could come as early as Thursday, he told Fox News host Sean Hannity during a radio interview. The footage was provided to him, O’Keefe said, by people inside the network.
“A Huffington Post reporter, who was also on the radio program, asked if O’Keefe had acquired the footage from camera or set crew members who would have access to it, but he declined to say. Networks record off-air interactions between hosts, reporters and guests, and a crew member sympathetic to O’Keefe’s cause could potentially access a lot of material.
“After the radio interview was recorded, HuffPost asked if O’Keefe would be releasing footage from multiple newsrooms or just one. “One corporation, multiple newsrooms,” he said.
“O’Keefe said he’d be releasing the footage ‘WikiLeaks-style.’ In fact, WikiLeaks has several distinct styles. At times, the organization has worked with major media outlets to break stories. In other instances, it has dumped everything it had on the internet at once. In the case of the John Podesta emails, WikiLeaks released new batches day by day.
“O’Keefe wouldn’t divulge which particular network would be hit, but said it was one President Donald Trump has spent much time talking about recently. “It’s the one he’s always targeting,” O’Keefe said.
“That would seem to suggest CNN. Trump has been on a tear against the network since it revealed the existence of an allegedly embarrassing dossier that intelligence agencies were investigating.
“A CNN spokeswoman did not immediately respond to a request for comment. . .”
T. Beckett Adams, Washington Examiner: “AP botches a story, reporters detect a conspiracy”
“’Trump weighs mobilizing Nat Guard for immigration roundups,’ the report’s original headline read.
“But the AP botched the story in a big way, as detailed here by theWashington Examiner.
“From overselling the leaked Department of Homeland Security memo on which the entire report hinges, to failing to provide proof that Trump was even aware of draft proposal, readers would be wise to remain skeptical of the AP report.
“To be clear, the draft memo mentioned in the story is definitely real, as confirmed by DHS officials. It’s just that it doesn’t say what the AP reported. . .”
“Many Republicans are dead-set against raising any taxes, even if needed to offset cuts elsewhere. Some Democrats are unbending on reducing high U.S. corporate tax rates despite widespread agreement that they are counterproductive. It’s hard to see why either side would give ground.” Albert Hunt, Bloomberg
Albert Hunt, Bloomberg: “It’s Been 31 Years since the Last Tax Overhaul. Here’s Why.”
“President Donald Trump has promised the most comprehensive overhaul of the tax system since 1986. That was when a Republican president joined forces with a Democratic House of Representatives and a Republican Senate to lower personal income-tax rates and simplify a messy and outdated tax system.
“Today, Republicans control both houses of Congress as well as the White House. Democrats agree with them that the system has once again become messy and outdated. So in theory it should be easier to reach agreement now than it was then.
“Forget that theory. Passing tax reform this year will be a much tougher slog than it was 30 years ago, or than Republicans expect it to be today.
“Republican opposition would have doomed President Ronald Reagan’s plans without Democratic support, and the bipartisanship and skilled political leadership needed to push them through don’t exist today.
“Thus while a sweeping tax-reform bill is a top priority of both Trump and House Speaker Paul Ryan, with a goal of passing it by July, the odds are that it won’t happen. A look at what took place in 1986 helps explain why. . .”
Debra Heine, PJM: “Hugh Hewitt: Fire Obama’s ‘Deep State’ Sleeper Cells Yesterday”
“Conservative radio talk show host Hugh Hewitt today pressed Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway to answer why the Trump administration has been so slow to fire Obama holdovers throughout the government.
“Hewitt also recommended that President Trump fill mounting court vacancies by ‘recess appointing’ judges on March 21:
“Why haven’t we fired the U.S. attorneys? They are all Obama appointees. They’re acting replacements, even if you haven’t got nominees lined up, would-be careerists. Why hasn’t he, a man of will, done that?
“Conway answered that the president would be making those decisions in concert with Attorney General Jeff Sessions, who she noted is “relatively new to the job” — and took far too long get confirmed . . .”
Bridget Johnson, PJM: Anti-Semitism Alarms: More Bomb Threats, Jewish Cemetery Vandalized”
“WASHINGTON — Jewish community centers received a new wave of phoned-in bomb threats Sunday and a Jewish cemetery in St. Louis was desecrated over the weekend, acts that Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) warned “are not only criminal but fan the flames of extremism that tears apart societies.”
“The JCC Association of North America said 11 Jewish community centers received threats over the weekend, on the heels of 68 bomb-threat calls to 53 centers in 26 states and one Canadian province in January. No devices have been found at any of the centers.
“‘‘While we are relieved that all such threats have proven to be hoaxes and that not a single person was harmed, we are concerned about the anti-Semitism behind these threats, and the repetition of threats intended to interfere with day-to-day life. Local JCCs serve not just the Jewish community, but the entire community,’ said David Posner, director of strategic performance at the JCC Association. ‘Participants from all different backgrounds come to their local JCCs for activities, Jewish cultural and religious programming, and opportunities to come together as a community.’”
“Posner said the group is working with the FBI as authorities investigate the threats.”
“Team Trump’s newest immigration orders definitely toughen enforcement, but they’re a far cry f”rom mass roundups.
“If the administration sticks to this approach — prioritizing the serious criminals for apprehension and deportation, while also making it harder to succeed at immigrating illegally — it’ll have broad public support.
“Over-the-top approaches (deporting law-abiding moms) will mean big trouble.
“In that regard, it’s worth noting that Trump still hasn’t touched Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, which gives safe harbor and work permits to those brought here illegally as young children, a k a ‘the dreamers.’…”
Jonathan Easley, The Hill: “Poll: Americans overwhelmingly oppose sanctuary cities”
“An overwhelming majority of Americans believe that cities that arrest illegal immigrants for crimes should be required to turn them over to federal authorities.
“The poll shows that President Trump has broad public support in his effort to crack down on sanctuary cities.
“A survey from Harvard–Harris Poll provided exclusively to The Hill found that 80 percent of voters say local authorities should have to comply with the law by reporting to federal agents the illegal immigrants they come into contact with.
“As it stands, hundreds of cities across the nation — many with Democratic mayors or city councils — are refusing to do so.
“Trump has signed “an executive order directing Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly to find ways to starve these sanctuary cities of federal funding. A Reuters analysis found the top 10 sanctuary cities in the U.S. receive $2.27 billion in federal funding for programs ranging from public health services to early childhood education.
“Kelly is expected to hire thousands of new immigration enforcement agents with broad authority to detain and deport those in the country illegally, potentially setting up a showdown between the federal government and sanctuary cities. . .”
Adan Salazar, InfoWars: “IT’S HAPPENING! DHS MEMO ORDERS IMMEDIATE CONSTRUCTION OF BORDER WALL”
“…Using materials originating in the United States…”
“A memo from the Department of Homeland Security calls for the immediate construction of a wall on the southern US border with Mexico.
“Signed Monday, the DHS memo addresses President Trump’s executive order regarding border security, and includes new policies strengthening deportation efforts and orders to hire more border agents.
“Section F of the 13-page memo, entitled, “Border Wall Construction and Funding,” details several orders to begin assembling the barrier, as well as how the administration intends to deal with costs.
“The memo also notably includes a clause which orders construction materials to be acquired from US manufacturers “to the maximum extent permitted by law.”
“Consistent with the President’s Executive Order, the will of Congress and the need to secure the border in the national interest, CBP, in consultation with the appropriate executive departments and agencies, and nongovernmental entities having relevant expertise-and using materials originating in the United States to the maximum extent permitted by law-shall immediately begin planning, design, construction and maintenance of a wall, including the attendant lighting, technology (including sensors), as well as patrol and access roads, along the land border with Mexico in accordance with existing law, in the most appropriate locations and utilizing appropriate materials and technology to most effectively achieve operational control of the border.”
Rich Lowry, NRO: “What’s Happening In Sweden”
“At a campaign rally over the weekend, Trump issued forth with a mystifyingly ominous statement. “You look,” he declared, “at what’s happening last night in Sweden.” What? Had the president invented a nonexistent terror attack? As it turned out, the reference was to a segment on Sweden he had watched on the Fox News show Tucker Carlson Tonight the previous night, rather than to any specific event in the Nordic country.
“The ensuing discussion quickly took on the character of much of the debate in the early Trump years — a blunderbuss president matched against a snotty and hyperventilating press, with a legitimate issue lurking underneath.
“By welcoming a historic number of asylum-seekers proportionate to its population, Sweden has indeed embarked on a vast social experiment that wasn’t well thought out and isn’t going very well. The unrest in the Stockholm suburb of Rinkeby after police made an arrest the other night underscored the problems inherent in Sweden’s immigration surge. . .:
Julia Terruso, Philly.com: “Soda companies, supermarkets report 30-50 pct. sales drop from soda tax”
Money for schools or for pension payments?
“Two months into the city’s sweetened-beverage tax, supermarkets and distributors are reporting a 30 percent to 50 percent drop in beverage sales and are planning for layoffs.
One of the city’s largest distributors says it will cut 20 percent of its workforce in March, and an owner of six ShopRite stores in Philadelphia says he expects to shed 300 workers this spring.
“People are seeing sales decline larger than anything they’ve seen up to this point in the city,” said Alex Baloga, vice president of external relations at the Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association.
“In response, the city questioned the legitimacy of the early figures and predicted that customers responding to the initial sticker shock by shopping outside the city would return…”
Mark Levin (02-21-17)
On Tuesday’s Mark Levin show, There is a concerted effort to suggest that President Donald Trump has tolerated anti-Semitism in regards to threats against Jewish Community Centers. Leftists like Jerry Nadler or Peter Alexander dare to suggest that Trump is anti-Semitic. Suddenly we are being told that Trump is encouraging anti-semitism through his supporters. This is what Trump refers to as fake news.
“Also, the evidence was overwhelming that Obama was anti-Semitic. Trump wasn’t hanging out with domestic terrorists or embracing a professor with ties to Hamas like Obama was. There has been no president more hostile to the Jewish community than Obama. Can anyone show us at any time that Trump has demonstrated anti-Semitism? Trump’s son in law and his daughter, who converted to Judaism, are both Orthodox Jews. After that, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi and other top Democrats are supporting Keith Ellison for DNC chair. Ellison has demonstrated anti-Semitic behavior. The Democrat Party is now the party that breeds anti-Semitism and hate. They are nothing more than a front for the power hungry in politics. The left hates Israel and is filled with bigotry. In addition, crazy infrastructure projects are not the responsibility of the government. Has the widening of the roads ever helped with traffic anywhere? They should leave it to the states and localities.
“Finally, the DHS is hiring more ICE and Border Patrol agents and starting construction of the wall. According to Secretary John Kelly, the DHS is going back to traditional routes of immigration enforcement. However, Trump and Kelly are not doing anything about the Dreamers.”
