“”Crony Capitalism: A First Hand Account”

“Our guest speakers for Wednesday, March 1st are a husband and wife team. They are normal people with a 6 year old son who experienced first hand the power of crony capitalism forcing them into financial ruin. This sparked within them a desire to not only spread the message to others by giving them a first hand account of their story, but also provide a message of hope. Instead of cowering in a corner, they chose to use this travesty as an opportunity. They are passionate liberty-minded individuals who believe in their fellow humans. They embrace the idea of what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger, and they have used that new found strength and passion for liberty in forming Liberty Link Media Group; where their mission is to be a leading voice of activism in the liberty movement, and to utilize their many years of experience; Nicholas as a media and marketing professional, and Dawn as a Forensic Psychologist, to bring professional video content, PR, marketing, and media that has long been lacking to the movement.

“In 2014 their small family-owned tech company was sued by the Attorney General of Florida with no cause as part of a sweeping action to take out the competition of much larger companies. Companies who had provided money to the campaigns of high profile Florida politicians. Despite having no evidence to support their assertions they forged forward against the company assuming Nicholas and Dawn would simply settle as all others do. Unfortunately, they found themselves embroiled in a 2 year battle that continues today. What transpired during those two years is a story you will only see in the movies. You do not want to miss this!

Janet: Obama Care:

There are no more excuses for not repealing Obamacare. Establishment Republicans are, nonetheless, dragging their feet on what was a major campaign promise. We are hearing that liberals are calling Congress in massive numbers to ensure the survival of socialist medicine and the ‘death panel’. Conservatives must act asap.

The deadline to repeal Obamacare, with the reconciliation process that allows passage in the Senate with only 51 votes (Republicans have 52), is April 28, 2017.

Please be aware that repeal must come first, then, replace. A transition period is included in the repeal effort that gives Obamacare insurers and insured the time to transition to a replacement plan. Combining repeal and replace significantly jeopardizes the repeal process.

Idrees Ali, Reuters: “Exclusive: China finishing South China Sea buildings that could house missiles – U.S. officials”

“China, in an early test of U.S. President Donald Trump, has nearly finished building almost two dozen structures on artificial islands in the South China Sea that appear designed to house long-range surface-to-air missiles, two U.S. officials told Reuters.

“The development is likely to raise questions about whether and how the United States will respond, given its vows to take a tough line on China in the South China Sea.

“China claims almost all the waters, which carry a third of the world’s maritime traffic. Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines, Taiwan and Vietnam also have claims. Trump’s administration has called China’s island building in the South China Sea illegal.”

Vladimir Isachenkov, AP: “Russia military acknowledges new branch: info warfare troops”

“MOSCOW (AP) — Along with a steady flow of new missiles, planes and tanks, Russia’s defense minister said Wednesday his nation also has built up its muscle by forming a new branch of the military — information warfare troops.

“Sergei Shoigu’s statement — which came amid Western allegations of Russian hacking — marked the first official acknowledgement of the existence of such forces.

“Speaking to parliament, Shoigu said that the military received a sweeping array of new weapons last year, including 41 intercontinental ballistic missiles.

“He added that the wide-ranging military modernization will continue this year, with the air force set to receive 170 new aircraft. The army will receive 905 tanks and other armored vehicles, and the navy will receive 17 new ships.

“Also this year, three regiments of Russia’s strategic nuclear forces will receive new intercontinental ballistic missiles, Shoigu said. Each regiment has up to 10 launchers.

“The rising number of new weapons has raised demands for new personnel. Shoigu said the military currently needs 1,300 more pilots and will recruit them by 2018.

“Declaring the formation of the dedicated information warfare troops, Shoigu noted that “propaganda needs to be clever, smart and efficient.” He wouldn’t describe the troops’ mission. . .”

Edmund DeMarche, Fox: “Trump set to take center stage at CPAC as theme appears to be now or never”

“. . . There are some conservatives who will never embrace the former Democrat who, according to the Associated Press, once elicited boos at the conference now held annually at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in suburban Maryland.

Trump addressed CPAC in 2011 and was booed when he said crowd-favorite Rep. Ron Paul “cannot get elected.” Paul and his son Sen. Rand Paul usually dominate the conference’s straw poll. Sen. Ted Cruz won last year’s poll and Trump came in a modest third.

Trump skipped last year’s event during the presidential primary and the group, in response, said the decision “sends a clear message to conservatives.”

The Guardian newspaper wrote, “As the real estate developer said of Ron Paul in 2011, “I think he’s a good guy but honestly he has zero chance of being elected. You have to win an election.” Trump won that election, and this will be first time that the conservative movement under Trump will be on full display.”

Kellyanne Conway, a senior advisor to Trump told CPAC that “tomorrow it will be TPAC when he’s here.”

NY Post: “Why give ‘sanctuary’ to gang members?

“Proof keeps piling up that Mayor de Blasio and his fellow progressives are not just looking to protect “otherwise law-abiding” illegal immigrants.

“Last week, the city freed a gang member from Rikers, even though the feds had issued a “detainer” for him, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement official said Tuesday.

“Estivan Velasquez’s criminal history includes reckless endangerment, criminal weapon possession and disorderly conduct, the feds say. In 2015, a judge ordered him deported, and ICE asked to be notified after he finished his time at Rikers.

“But ICE was left in the dark because Velasquez isn’t dangerous enough for de Blasio. His offense ‘does not qualify as a violent or serious felony,’ a mayoral aide said.

“So much for that ‘otherwise law-abiding’ talk. In any case, it’s not for de Blasio to decide whether to obey a judge’s orders and ICE detainers; snubbing federal authorities verges on aiding and abetting fugitives.

“Fortunately, ICE tracked down Velasqez [sic!] on its own, and he’s now in ‘detention pending removal.’ But de Blasio’s flouting of federal law puts New Yorkers at risk — especially ICE agents and cops. . .”

Adam Kredo, Free Beacon: “Cruz: Flynn Firing Was Obama Admin, Media Orchestrated Hit Job”

“Obama administration loyalists leaked classified material against Flynn

“. . .Cruz, speaking on the sidelines of the Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC, made reference to a Washington Free Beacon report last week disclosing how former Obama administration holdovers and loyalists spread classified information to their allies in the media as part of an effort to handicap the Trump administration’s national security apparatus.

“These leaks, Cruz said, constitute a ‘federal crime’ and should worry all American citizens about the status of America’s intelligence community, which has been accused of leaking information to undermine Trump.

“Flynn’s phone calls with Russian officials, which took place before he officially entered the White House, do not appear to violate any law. Yet the release of classified information about them certainly is a crime, Cruz said.

“The circumstances about the Flynn leaks are distressing. Releasing the details of intercepted conversations with foreign ambassadors is not the ordinary sort of leak that Washington was built on,” Cruz said. “It is a federal crime.”

Bradford Richardson, Washington Times: “James O’Keefe offers $10,000 awards for evidence of ‘media malfeasance’”

“Conservative sleuth James O’Keefe is ramping up his effort to take down the mainstream media by enlisting the help of ordinary citizens to go undercover and expose wrongdoing in newsrooms around the country.

“The Project Veritas leader announced he will give $10,000 to anyone who brings him evidence of “corruption, malfeasance and wrongdoing” in the press.

“‘If you have hidden audio recordings, videotapes or documents inside of a newsroom or media institution, and the material is good enough, I will pay you $10,000,’ Mr. O’Keefe says in the video set to be released on Thursday.

“The announcement of the award coincides with the first release of the “CNN Tapes” project, for which Project Veritas is uploading 119 hours of audio recordings taken by an anonymous source within the cable network’s Atlanta headquarters . .”.

Tyler Durden, Zero Hedge: “O’Keefe Drops “Bombshell” Undercover Footage From Within CNN”

“Per O’Keefe’s website, today’s release includes 119 hours of secretly recorded raw footage from an inside source at CNN with another 100 hours of footage still to be released.  Given the volume of footage to be released, O’Keefe is asking for help to transcribe and investigate the recordings and encourages users to provide tips on interesting discoveries here.

The audio was secretly recorded in 2009 by an anonymous source inside CNN’s Atlanta headquarters who we are identifying as Miss X. The tapes contain soundbites from current and previous CNN employees Joe Sterling, Arthur Brice, and Nicky Robertson, as well as numerous others. . . “

“Project Veritas released CNN audio recorded by anonymous insider

“Project Veritas has uploaded at least 119 hours of audio files recorded by an anonymous source at CNN around 2009.

“Due to the sheer volume of the leaks, Project Veritas founder James O’Keefe is enlisting the Internet’s help to comb through the audio to find juicy bits highlighting CNN’s lack of objectivity in news reporting and extreme bias.

“So far, crowdsourcing threads on Reddit and 4Chan have popped up to analyze the tapes, and citizen journalists are encouraged to join the efforts.

Despite the apparent age of the tapes, they may reveal CNN’s transition from news reporting to pure political propaganda over the past several years. . .”

Andrew McCarthy, PJM: “Trump’s Immigration Guidance: The Rule of Law Returns”

“On Tuesday, John Kelly, President Trump’s secretary of Homeland Security, published a six-page, single-spaced memorandum detailing new guidance on immigration enforcement. “Thereupon, I spent about 1,500 words summarizing the guidance in a column at National Review. Brevity being the soul of wit, both the memo and my description of it could have been reduced to a single, easy-to-remember sentence:

“Henceforth, the United States shall be governed by the laws of the United States.

“That it was necessary for Secretary Kelly to say more than this — and, sadly, that such alarm has greeted a memo that merely announces the return of the rule of law in immigration enforcement — owes to the Obama administration abuses of three legal doctrines: prosecutorial discretion, preemption, and separation of powers (specifically, the executive usurpation of legislative power).

“To the extent President Obama declined to enforce immigration law (notwithstanding his constitutional obligation to execute the laws faithfully), he did so under the guise of prosecutorial discretion. In the pre-Obama days, prosecutorial discretion was an unremarkable, uncontroversial resource-allocation doctrine. It simply meant that since resources are finite, and since it would be neither possible nor desirable to prosecute every crime, we target law-enforcement resources to get the most crime-fighting bang for the taxpayer buck. That means prioritizing enforcement action against (a) the worst offenders and (b) the unlawful causes of the activity. . .”

Rich Lowry, RCP: “Actually, Sweden Is Having Big Trouble with Mideast Refugees”

“. . . At a campaign rally over the weekend, Trump issued forth with a mystifyingly ominous statement. “You look,” he declared, “at what’s happening last night in Sweden.” What? Had the president invented a nonexistent terror attack? As it turned out, the reference was to a segment on Sweden he had watched on the Fox News show Tucker Carlson Tonight the previous night, rather than to any specific event in the Nordic country.

“The ensuing discussion quickly took on the character of much of the debate in the early Trump years — a blunderbuss president matched against a snotty and hyperventilating press, with a legitimate issue lurking underneath.

“By welcoming a historic number of asylum-seekers proportionate to its population, Sweden has indeed embarked on a vast social experiment that wasn’t well thought out and isn’t going very well. The unrest in the Stockholm suburb of Rinkeby after police made an arrest the other night underscored the problems inherent in Sweden’s immigration surge.

“Sweden’s admirable humanitarianism is outstripping its capacity to absorb newcomers. . .”

Salena Zito, NY Post: “Why all your news now comes with a heap of condescension

“. . . Local and state governments often function as intermediary institutions that can be more responsive to local needs than the federal government. Local newspapers long performed a similar role. But for areas of the country where local papers have been left behind, the void is palpable.

“The Bedford Gazette is the oldest continuously published newspaper in Pennsylvania, dating back to 1805. Its circulation is now 9,000 in a county of 49,000. It, like other area papers — the Altoona Mirror, Somerset Daily American and the Erie Times-News — has lost circulation, though none of the papers would give me the exact figure. (Some appear to have lost about half of their peak circulation.) Other competitors are long gone.

“On a day last week when the Page 1 story in the national papers was Trump’s rambling and combative press conference, the Bedford Gazette ran with three local stories above the fold and a piece on Sen. Pat Toomey holding a town-hall meeting two counties over. Both are legitimate and interesting coverage choices. But they should complement each other. . .”

Mark Levin (02-23-17)

“On Thursday’s Mark Levin show, What’s interesting is that many young people at CPAC are rock solid conservatives. They want President Donald Trump to succeed, to the extent that Trump remains conservative. They are not buying Trump’s Nationalist Populist rhetoric. They believe in liberty, the Constitution, building up the military, liberty, faith, private property rights, and national sovereignty.

Also, Mark interviewed Sen Ted Cruz at CPAC who suggested there may be a Supreme Court vacancy this summer and said the best way to drain the swamp is term limits.

After that, Sean Hannity calls in to discuss the passing of Alan Colmes. So many liberals are nasty, but Colmes was a decent person who loved his audience.

In addition, it looks like Keith Ellison is in the lead for DNC chair and he’s saying we need to protect the Constitution by impeaching Trump which is laughable because the left doesn’t care about the Constitution. Trump has committed no impeachable offenses. The Democrats are trying to drive Trump’s negatives up and suggest he’s acting criminally where no criminality exists. Democrats will not allow an election to get in their way of promoting their own agenda.

Later, Gov Dan Malloy has told Connecticut police not to follow the DHS directive on illegal residents. Malloy said that officials should not detain any one based on their immigration status.”
