Janet: Obama Care:

There are no more excuses for not repealing Obamacare. Establishment Republicans are, nonetheless, dragging their feet on what was a major campaign promise. We are hearing that liberals are calling Congress in massive numbers to ensure the survival of socialist medicine and the ‘death panel’. Conservatives must act asap.

The deadline to repeal Obamacare, with the reconciliation process that allows passage in the Senate with only 51 votes (Republicans have 52), is April 28, 2017.

Please be aware that repeal must come first, then, replace. A transition period is included in the repeal effort that gives Obamacare insurers and insured the time to transition to a replacement plan. Combining repeal and replace significantly jeopardizes the repeal process.

The map below contains a listing of public addresses and website links to 607 DPC practice locations in 47 states + DC (we still have not located any DPC practices in North Dakota, South Dakota, or Iowa,).  Website readers should note that these practices met our three part definition of DPC, although they may not always self-describe as DPC.  Both “Pure” DPC practices and DPC hybrids are included in the mapper, and they are now color coded!  I’m happy to report that over 70% of the practices in the mapper are known to be pure.

Pure = Green Icon

“Apparently, Trump will not necessarily reset the Obama reset of the Bush reset with Russia. Instead, he probably believes that Putin will soon agree that the 2009–16 era was an abnormal condition in which a far weaker Russia bullied friends and connived against almost everything the U.S. was for. And such asymmetry could not be expected to go on. A return to normal relations is not brinkmanship; it should settle down to tense competition, some cooperation, and grudging respect among two powerful rivals. Who knows, Putin may come to respect (and even prefer) an American leader who is unpredictable and unapologetically tough without being sanctimonious, sermonizing — and weak. . .”

Victor Davis Hanson

Pam Geller, AFDI: “South Dakota Muslim Brandishes Guns & Assault Weapons in Threatening Video From Christian Conference, “Be afraid” “Be f**king terrified.”

“In America, there is now a separate set of laws for Muslims and non-Muslims. Sharia in America. If a non-Muslim was armed to the teeth obscenely threatening Muslims with massive firepower at a mosque in their parking lot, he would be arrested, his face smeared across every newspaper and nightly news program across the country. This Muslim was not arrested or questioned.

“Holding a Quran, Ehab Jabar is brandishing serious firepower while threatening the women and children at Christian conference. “Be afraid” or “be terrified.”

“One of our off duty police officers approached this man that was holding a Koran, filming our event and wearing a T-shirt that said he was a Muslim. The officer asked the man to stop filming as we had announced at the beginning of the conference that no audio or video recording would be permitted. Upon being approached, the man announced immediately that he was leaving. The officer asked him if he had a concealed weapon on his person to which he said he did. The man also told the officer he was live streaming on Facebook. When the officer asked his name he told the officer “John Smith, the Muslim John Smith.”

“The Muslim man then proceeded out to his car in the parking lot where he filmed two more Facebook live videos. He was clearly angry and discussed that Shahram and I were promoting books. He seemed very upset with the resources he saw on our resource tables. He then began showing the camera 3 pistols, two assault weapons, and what appeared to be an extended magazine. With the brandishing of each weapon to the camera he said ‘be afraid’ or ‘be terrified.’ In fact, he said ‘be terrified’ twice. Now how is that not a terroristic threat? Please remember, he is in the parking lot of our Christian conference that is being attended by some 500 men, women and children. The attendees included a state representative and a state senator. . .”

Victor Davis Hanson, NRO: “Restoring Deterrence, One Bomb at a Time?”

“. . . In other words, apparently anywhere Trump thinks that he can make a point about deterrence, with good odds of not getting Americans killed or starting a war (he used Tomahawks not pilots where Russian planes were in the vicinity), he will probably drop a bomb or shoot off a missile or send in an iconic carrier fleet.
The message reminds the world that the Obama administration’s “lead from behind,” “don’t do stupid sh**,” plastic red-button reset, Cairo Speech foreign policy followed no historical arc that bent anywhere. And the U.S. was previously on the wrong, not the right, side of both history and the traditions of U.S. bipartisan foreign policy — an aberration from the past, not a blueprint of the future.
“Like Ronald Reagan, who, after Jimmy Carter’s managed declinism, shelled Lebanon, bombed Gaddafi, and invaded Grenada, Trump is trying to thread the needle between becoming bogged down somewhere and doing nothing.
“No president in recent memory also has outsourced such responsibility to his military advisers, whom Trump refers to as ‘our’ or ‘my’ ‘generals.’ He can afford to for now, because he has made excellent appointments at Defense, State, National Security, and Homeland Security. These are men who justifiably have won broad bipartisan support and who believe in the ancient ways of military and spiritual deterrence, balance of power, and alliances rather than the U.N., presidential sonorousness, or soft power to keep the peace. “These opportunistic deterrent expressions are likewise intended to remind several parties in particular that the Obama hiatus is over. . . “

Kevin Williamson, NRO: “The ‘Buy American’ Order: Cynical or Ignorant?”

“Donald J. Trump is nothing if not a consummate entertainer, and the character he plays on television — “Donald J. Trump” — has appeared in all manner of entertainment: the game show he hosted for many years, pornographic films, the 2016 presidential campaign. Now he is taking on a strange new role: that of Debbie Wasserman Schultz.
“Trump, who is surrounded by people who fancy themselves “nationalists” (in the cause of what nation, it is not entirely clear), is wading deep into an ancient puddle of stupidity most recently explored by Barack Obama (remember his “nationalist” moment, which lasted for about a month in 2011?) and Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the woman who (accidentally) did more than anyone other than Kellyanne Conway and Hillary Rodham Clinton to put Trump in the White House. To call it “economic nationalism” would be too grand: It is merely a very narrow form of special-interest politics consisting of backdoor handouts to favored corporate interests.
“Trump has signed an executive order organized around two themes: “Buy American” and “Hire American.” In sum, the executive order is intended to provide incentives for American businessmen to . . . not act too much like the guy who built Trump Tower with illegal-immigrant labor and who relies on the H-2B visa program to keep Mar-a-Lago stocked with dishwashers and housekeepers. That guy, if we are to take Trump’s rhetoric seriously, is kind of a jerk, one who doesn’t care about the country at all.
The “Buy American” order is, in Trump style, pretty vague, with a lot that will need to be filled in later by people who know what the hell they’re talking about. (Fortunately, he does have a few of those around.) It makes minor administrative changes to existing “Buy American” federal procurement rules, which date back to the “Buy American Act” passed in 1933, a year not renowned for the excellence of its political and economic ideas. Bad call, Herbert Hoover.
“The Buy American Act essentially requires that the federal government go to U.S.-based providers both for raw materials such as steel and concrete and for finished goods such as computers and automobiles. Because this is incredibly stupid and fundamentally unworkable, there are waivers: Washington loves a waiver — see the Affordable Care Act. Writing an unreasonable law and including discretionary waivers puts a great deal of power in the hands of politicians, many of whom turn out to be interested in such things as money and power, which introducing a large element of uncertainty and outright capriciousness into the procurement process. . .”

Victoria Friedman, Breitbart:” Polish Government Will Not Allow ‘Bloody Harvest’ of Multiculturalism”

“The Polish interior minister affirmed Poland will not repeat the Western European policy of multiculturalism which he said has led to the “bloody harvest” of multiple terror attacks across the continent since the start of the migrant crisis.

“The policy of multiculturalism in Western Europe is bringing about a bloody harvest in the form of terrorist attacks,” Mariusz Błaszczak told Polish Radio on Tuesday.

“The conservative Law and Justice (Prawo i Sprawiedliwość, PiS) government has refused to accept migrants from the Middle East and Africa under an EU programme to relocate across the bloc some 98,000 asylum seekers currently residing in camps in Italy and Greece.

“At the EU summit on the migrant crisis in September 2015, Poland’s previous coalition government led by Donald Tusk’s Civic Platform (Platforma Obywatelska, PO) agreed to accept 4,500-5,000 asylum seekers.

“However, the following month PiS swept the parliamentary election and proceeded to reject the previous government’s migrant position. . .”

“Jihadists exploited Obama’s national security weaknesses

“The FBI has “open investigations in all 50 states,” and there have been at least 37 “ISIS-linked plots to attack our country” since 2013, said DHS Secretary John Kelly on Tuesday.

“The U.S. border remains open and the jihadists are working to exploit that national security weakness and plot attacks “every single day,” Kelly said at a George Washington University address.

“‘We don’t know their intentions,’ he said. ‘We don’t know why they’re here or why they’re coming. We are completely blind to what they’re capable of.’

In the past year alone, there have been ‘36 homegrown terrorists in 18 states.’

“We’ve seen an unprecedented spike in homegrown terrorism,” Kelly pointed out. ‘These are the cases we know about – homegrown terrorism is notoriously difficult to predict and control.’

“‘I tell you, without exaggeration, they try to carry out this mission each and every single day and no one can tell you how to stop it. No one,’ he added. ‘They’re relentless.’

“If that isn’t enough, Kelly estimates that approximately 10,000 European citizens have joined the caliphate in Syria and Iraq, and thousands more from Africa and Asia.

“They have learned how to make IEDs, employ drones to drop ordinance, and acquired experience on the battlefield that by all reports they are bringing back home,” Kelly said. . .”

Robert Costa, WaPo: “Republicans avoid big loss by forcing runoff in Ga. House race”

“. . .Unofficial returns showed that Ossoff had earned less than 50 percent of the vote, the threshold needed to declare an outright victory. Instead, with 48.3 percent, Ossoff was headed to a runoff against Republican Karen Handel, the top GOP vote-getter in a special election to replace Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price in Georgia’s 6th Congressional District.

In a statement early Wednesday, Ossoff acknowledged that he had fallen short.

“‘This is already a remarkable victory,’ he said. ‘We defied the odds, shattered expectations, and now are ready to fight on and win in June.’

“Ossoff could find it difficult to sustain the momentum he witnessed this past week in a traditionally Republican district that has been in GOP hands since 1979. Although Handel had earned 19.7 percent of the vote with 88 percent of precincts reporting, in a runoff she is widely expected to rally Republican voters who had divided their votes among 11 GOP candidates in Tuesday’s race. . .”–and-opportunity-for-democrats/2017/04/18/a2231a48-242f-11e7-b503-9d616bd5a305_story.html?utm_term=.29fb0bf77724

Michelle Malkin, RCP: “Chelsea Clinton’s Cheerleading Cult”

“. . . Welcome to the liberal media’s manufacturing of “cool.” Leather jacket? Check. Overzealous airbrushing? Check. Humanizing grin? Check. Democratic establishment pedigree? Checkity-check-check.

“This is just the latest attempt by The Media Resistance to make Chelsea Clinton a thing. The same liberal lunatics in the press who rage about the Trump children’s nepotistic privileges champion the ‘refreshingly outspoken’ daughter of the Clinton dynasty — who, at 37 years old, will receive a ‘Lifetime Impact’ award from Variety on Friday for her ‘humanitarian work.’

“The honor comes during the same week that the Clinton Global Initiative cash machine officially shut down. Among the generous ‘humanitarian’ projects of CGI’s parent, the Clinton Foundation: chipping in a reported $3 million for Chelsea’s wedding to another heir of Democratic corruptocrats, Marc Mezvinsky — the newly jobless former hedge fund manager and son of convicted fraudster Edward Mezvinsky, a former Democratic congressman from Iowa.

“Remember: The Clintons’ own inner circle lambasted Chelsea’s hubby for exploiting the Clinton Foundation and CGI to prop up his now-defunct hedge fund. The duo also siphoned off charitable donations to pay for ‘taxes on money from her parents’ and expenses racked up to subsidize her “life for a decade,” according to longtime Clinton aide Doug Band.

But I digress from the Cult of Chelsea Coolness. Shake those pompoms, propaganda media . . .”

Mark Levin (04-18-17)

“On Tuesday’s Mark Levin show, The media is trying to manipulate people into believing that President Trump and Vladimir Putin are buddies. Russian officials see Trump as more dangerous to Russia’s interests than North Korea’s Kim Jong Un. This should be a screaming headline on CNN or MSNBC, but it’s not. The Russian propaganda machine is all out trashing and smearing Trump and his family and you won’t see this reported on any establishment media outlets.

“In addition, the FBI used a dossier published last year to gain approval to survey the Trump world in 2016. The members of Congress, no doubt Democrats, are leaking to CNN. Remember the discredited dossier came from a discredited British spy source. This dossier was created by opponents of Trump.

“Also, what is Carter Page guilty of? If he is not guilty of anything, he should take legal action against the media who is ruining his reputation. CNN is suggesting that Page was a Russian spy. If you are going to accuse someone of being a spy shouldn’t you have some evidence? Page was not even directly connected with Trump. This is a sleazy hit job by CNN for the purpose of taking down Trump.

“After that, Joni Marquez a retired Air Force captain was not permitted to open fire on two terrorists in Afghanistan in 2011. This resulted in the death of 38 fighters including 30 Americans and 8 Afghans aboard the Extortion 17 helicopter. The rules of engagement prevented Marquez and her crew from doing what needed to be done and saving these fighters. These battlefield rules of engagement were changed by Gen. Stanley McChrystal under Barack Obama. Later, Jeff Sessions calls in to discuss withholding grants from sanctuary cities.

“Finally, Mark Meckler calls in to talk about the status of Convention of States.”

Joe Concha, The Hill: “Drudge tweet could mark end of era at Fox”

“. . . The reclusive Drudge sent a rare and ominous tweet about O’Reilly on Tuesday, writing that the embattled Fox News host ‘has had a tremendous run.’
“‘Very few in the business get to decide when and how things end,’ the conservative media personality tweeted. ‘Media is most brutal of all industries…’

“The Drudge Report founder’s tweet comes after a New York Magazine report Tuesday that said the sons of Rupert Murdoch, the 21st Century Fox and Fox News executive chairman, are weighing pulling the highly rated host off the air in the wake of a sexual harassment scandal. . .”

David Shield, CBC: “Sask. ranchers stunned as beaver herds 150 cattle”

“Saskatchewan rancher Adrienne Ivey may have heard of a beaver, but until now, had never seen a beaver herd — cattle, that is.

“On Friday, Ivey and her husband were surprised to see 150 of their heifers crowded together in one of their pastures.

“Curious about the strange behaviour, they investigated further, to find the herd of cattle following a beaver that had wandered along.

“‘He was out and about, I think looking for a new place to build a beaver lodge, and they were following him,’ Ivey said. “There was about a three-foot space around him. They didn’t want to get closer than that.’

“According to Ivey, heifers are more inquisitive than the average bovine, which may have led to them following the beaver.

“‘They’re a curious bunch,’ she said. ‘They’re kind of like teenagers. . .’”
