John Podhoretz, Commentary: “The Embassy Moves

“So it has happened. The American embassy in Israel is now in Jerusalem, moving from Tel Aviv 70 years to the day the Jewish state came into being and 22 years since U.S. law declared it would move.

“Richard Haass, who runs the Council on Foreign Relations, this morning tweeted that the Embassy move was an iatrogenic mistake—iatrogenesis meaning a disease you catch from treating another. Well, that’s fast. There’s no evidence whatever there is any new disease. In fact, there is evidence of diseases healing all over the place.

“Last week Arab states expressed support for Israel’s bombing raids on Iranian positions in Syria. I doubt Haass expected to see such a thing before the creation of a Palestinian state. Instead, what we’re seeing is Arab states apparently abandoning their insistence on a Palestinian state as the sine qua non for any relationship with Israel.

“Yes, there are staged riots in Gaza right now, but in what sense is that new? Gazans have launched wars with Israel thrice in the past decade. If Haass truly thinks this is about the embassy and not about deeper and longer trends, I have a bridge from Gaza to the West Bank to sell him. The Gazans are goading Israeli forces into firing on them, and Europeans and American Leftists are screaming murder. And, again, what else is new.

“Well, what’s new is that there is an American administration that isn’t listening to them and doesn’t care about their opinion. . .”

Sean Moran, Breitbart: Lou Barletta Wins PA GOP Primary for Senate”

“President Donald Trump recorded a robocall for Rep. Barletta during the state’s Republican primary, urging voters to back the former Hazelton mayor.

Congressman Barletta explained to Breitbart News in the exclusive statement on Monday that President Trump understands that electing Rep. Barletta to the U.S. Senate will help the president implement his America First agenda.

“Barletta told Breitbart News:

‘President Trump clearly understands how important my campaign against Bob Casey is for advancing his agenda through the Senate. Bob Casey has rejected, resisted, and obstructed our president at every step. One vote in the Senate can make the difference, and the president is committed to helping me win this race.’

“In the recording, President Trump cheered Barletta for serving as one of the first congressmen to endorse him in the 2016 Republican presidential primary.

‘It took courage for Lou to do that, and I’ll never forget it,’ Trump argued. The forty-fifth president also noted Barletta’s support for pro-American immigration reform as well as his vote for the recently passed Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.”

Kurt Schlichter, Townhall: “Brutalized by Trump’s Winning, Liberals Nip at Conservatives’ Ankles”

“The Democrats are having a major case of the sadz, and it’s hilarious. Their generic lead in the midterms ballot has evaporated. After the Iran and North Korea triumphs, Obama’s legacy is just a smoking ruin of broken dreams and corrected failures. And Stormy Daniels’s cheesy reign on CNMSNBC has morphed into a rain of singles from leering weirdos at creepy places with names like “The Treasure Chest” and “Reliable Sources.”

“So what do the liberals do when they are losing the all the big fights? They try to score points by taking some conservative scalps, which should thrill Elizabeth Warren. But they only end up biting at conservatives’ ankles.

“They are targeting the great Ric Grenell, our new, conservative ambassador to Germany, because he dares represent the United States’ interests. See, liberals are confused about what a United States diplomat should do. They think the American ambassador’s job is to please the foreigners with whom he is assigned to interface. This is consistent with liberals’ default position that the United States is always wrong and its critics are always right. But here’s the thing – President Trump, and Ambassador Grenell, understand that the job of an American diplomat is to represent American interests.

“Whoa. Kooky, right? . . .”

Andrew Kerr, Daily Caller: “Clinton Campaign Funneled $150,000 To Hillary Clinton’s Personal Company”

“Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign has transferred nearly $150,000 of leftover campaign funds to a company she solely owns in the months following her election defeat, according to filings with the Federal Election Commission (FEC).

“The Clinton campaign has paid $149,457 to ZFS Holdings LLC, since May 2017 for the purpose of “rent,” FEC filings show, but the campaign has left it unclear if it’s paying at, above or below fair market value for the office space it’s renting.

“Also, the rent payments to ZFS were sent to the same address as Rorrie Gregorio, Clinton’s personal financial manager.

“‘Obviously, it has a certain fishiness to it,’ former FEC chairman and founder of the Institute for Free Speech Brad Smith told The Daily Caller News Foundation about the rent payments.

“If ZFS is undercharging the Clinton campaign for rent, it could “constitute something of value to the committee and would thus be an in-kind contribution,” according to a 1995 FEC ruling. But if ZFS is overcharging the campaign, it could mean campaign funds are going to the company Clinton solely owns.

“Using campaign funds for personal use is a violation of federal campaign law. . .”

Tyler Durden, Zero Hedge: “Amazon, Starbucks Furious After Seattle Passes Controversial ‘Homeless Tax’”

Update: Amazon is not alone in its anger at Seattle’s plans. Starbucks took a moment away from signaling its virtue and lashed out at the city’s new tax. John Kelly, senior vice president, Global Public Affairs & Social Impact at Starbucks, said in a statement.

“This City continues to spend without reforming and fail without accountability, while ignoring the plight of hundreds of children sleeping outside.

If they cannot provide a warm meal and safe bed to a five year-old child, no one believes they will be able to make housing affordable or address opiate addiction.

“This City pays more attention to the desires of the owners of illegally parked RVs than families seeking emergency shelter.

“Ouch! How long before we hear a new round of boycott starbucks? . .”

Jim Treacher, PJM: “Things to Do in the Newly Free Bathrooms at Starbucks”

“. . . I’m grateful to Howard Schultz for enabling positive social change via universal bathroom access, and I plan to make the most of it. Here are a few things I plan to do in the bathrooms at the 17 Starbucks locations nearest me, whether I end up buying anything or not:

  • Grab a nap.Being a victim of social injustice — as I’ve just declared myself to be, for whatever reason I please — is exhausting. I can’t stay woke all the time. Sometimes I just need a place to lay my head for a few minutes, or hours. A Starbucks bathroom is the perfect place to turn out the lights, curl up on the floor, and catch a few winks. And yes, I can hear you knocking, racist!
  • Set up a satellite office.Starbucks and I agree that I shouldn’t be “less than,” but rather “more than.” And part of being “more than” is being successful in business. There are any number of money-making schemes I could run out of the bathroom at Starbucks. I might write a novel. Start my own call center. Dispense pharmaceuticals on a freelance basis. Provide, um, personal services… whatever! I need space to do it, and Starbucks can and will give me that space.
  • Anything else I damn well feel like. It’s none of your beeswax, Starbucks. Quit acting like you own the place.

“None of this will make Starbucks any less racist, of course. Racism will never go away as long as white people are allowed to exist. But whether you’re black, transracial (like me), female, transgender (like me), or otherwise part of a protected class, you can take advantage of Starbucks’ half-hearted attempt at reparations. Starbucks is yours, anytime you want. Do with it as you will.

“Just make sure to wash your hands when you’re done. . .”

Hannity:  Josh Umber Site

“Josh Umber free market program: Standard fee: $50/month for an adult, $10 per child; no limit on number of visits; medication is purchased in bulk and sold to the patient at a 90% discount.

“The map below contains a listing of public addresses and website links to 607 DPC practice locations in 47 states + DC (we still have not located any DPC practices in North Dakota, South Dakota, or Iowa,).  Website readers should note that these practices met our three part definition of DPC, although they may not always self-describe as DPC.  Both “Pure” DPC practices and DPC hybrids are included in the mapper, and they are now color coded!  I’m happy to report that over 70% of the practices in the mapper are known to be pure.

Mark Levin, 5-15 -18

“On Monday’s Mark Levin Show, NRA TV Host Dan Bongino fills in for Mark. The Obama-gate spying scandal was a setup from day one! Liberals are in a panic because their story keeps changing on why team Obama weaponized our government to spy on team Trump. The FBI is running scared because they still don’t have a viable genesis story as to why they spied on Trump’s campaign.

“Also, Blackwater’s Erik Prince was interviewed by Mueller’s investigators for a meeting Prince and George Nader both attended in the Seychelles. Nader, who’s been given immunity by Mueller, is represented by Obama’s former White House Counsel.

“Later, today was a historic day in Israel. U.S finally recognized the legitimate capital of Israel and opened up the embassy in Jerusalem. That took guts from Trump. The media painted this as negative because of all the protests. There are not protests when they show up with bombs – those are attacks.”
