CNBC: “Apple, tech stocks soar, set to lead the Dow to a 22,000 record”
“Shares of Apple surged nearly 6 percent in the premarket.
“The gains in Apple would theoretically add more than 50 points to the Dow, which would push it above 22,000 at Wednesday’s open.
“The Dow posted a record close of 21,963.92 on Tuesday, just 36.08 points shy of 22,000.
Rushbo: “The Republican Obamacare Betrayal”
“. . . the Reuters story: “Republicans have vowed to dismantle the Affordable Care Act since Democratic President Barack Obama signed it into law in 2010, and it appeared they finally had their chance when Republican President Donald Trump took office in January. But the law, which helped 20 million people obtain health insurance, has steadily grown more popular.”
“Like hell it has. But here we go. Obamacare more popular than ever, Republicans hated and despised. And that may be, but not for the reasons Reuters implies here. Obamacare hasn’t helped 20 million people obtain health insurance. And here’s another thing about this CBO score. I have intended to mention this the past couple or three days and just never got around to it.
“The CBO score. We gotta get rid of the CBO. The CBO, the Congressional Budget Office, is one of the primary obstacles to any legislation being passed, but particularly health care reform. You remember when the media and the Democrats were just breathlessly excited when they released the CBO numbers that repealing and replacing Obamacare would cause 22 million Americans to lose their health insurance? Do you know why that would happen? It was because it repealed the mandate that people had to buy it.
“It wasn’t because the government was gonna come and take it away from you. It wasn’t because what you had was going to be canceled. It wasn’t because the insurance companies were then given permission to tell you to take a hike. It was simply the CBO statically, not dynamically, statically concluded that if you take away the mandate, the federal law requiring citizens to buy insurance, that 22 million people would lose their health insurance.
In other words, the CBO said that 22 million people would cancel their policy. Well, that’s not what they said. That’s the end result. That’s how it would have had to happen. Because nobody was gonna take anybody’s health insurance away, and nobody’s health insurance was gonna be canceled. And yet the CBO is out there screeching that 22 million people will lose their health insurance. “No, we can’t do that, that’s horrible, that’s inhumane, that’s no compassion.”
“No, no. It was simply the CBO the guessing that if people didn’t have to buy it, they wouldn’t. Which may make sense. How many people have bought this rigmarole simply because the law requires them to? How many people have actually engaged in this and gone and petered around inside one of these exchanges to come up with an Obamacare policy because they had to?
“So the idea that removing the mandate requiring them to buy it is a good thing! It is a reinstallation, if you will, of the degree of liberty and freedom we had before Obamacare. Before Obamacare, you didn’t have to have it. Everybody wanted it, but you didn’t have to go buy it. No matter what it costs, you didn’t have to buy it. So the CBO says 22 million people will lose their health insurance. What a gross misstatement of what would actually happen. And of course with the absence of critical thinking being taught, nobody concluded the correct thing.
“By the way, that’s a wild guess number. The CBO just assumed that people would lose — i.e., that’s the wrong word — CBO just assumed people would cancel their policies if they didn’t have to buy them. What does that tell you? Well, it tells me that somebody in Congress thinks a lot of people are buying health insurance that don’t want it, and the first chance they get they don’t have to buy it, they’ll get rid of it. Which is a good thing. And it ends up being portrayed as heartless and cruel and typically Republican, when in fact it was a good thing. And it didn’t have any relationship whatsoever to people’s health care or health insurance.
“And yet that statistic, released the way it was, with the wording as it was, led to a lot of people not supporting it because they envisioned insurance companies canceling people, because, yes, that’s what insurance companies do. All companies would rather their customers get sick and die than have to cover them and pay for them. Big Tobacco wanted to kill they are customer. Big Oil wants to destroy the planet. Big Pharmaceutical doesn’t want to cure disease. Big Coal, all they want to do is pollute the rivers. Big Box Retail, all they want to do is rip people off.
“You take your pick. Whatever major industry we’re talking about, the Democrats have demonized ’em. And now the health insurance providers are such that if they don’t have to provide it, they won’t, when in fact it wasn’t about that at all. But back to the wording of this story. Obamacare did not and has not helped 20 million people obtain health insurance.
Now, Reuters writes this as though Obamacare provided a freebie. Obamacare provided an entitlement. Yes. Because people who couldn’t otherwise afford it because insurance companies are mean were given subsidies in order to be able to buy it because the law said they had to, but corporations are so mean that they price it out of people’s reach, and that means that Obama made it possible for people have it, which is a stack of coal.. .”

Mary Anastasia O’Grady, WSJ: “Venezuela Heads for Civil War
“The regime has rifles and armored vehicles, but the people have numbers and anger.
“In my column two weeks ago, “How Cuba Runs Venezuela,” I failed to mention Havana’s 2005 takeover of the Venezuelan office that issues national identity cards and passports. It was a Castro-intelligence coup, carried out with then-President Hugo Chávez’s permission. The move handed Havana the national Rolodex necessary to spy on Venezuelans and surreptitiously colonize the country. Islamic extremists received Venezuelan passports to give them false cover when crossing borders. Regime supporters got the papers they need to vote under more than one identity.
“This is something to keep in mind when Venezuelan strongman Nicolás Maduro reports the results of Sunday’s election for representatives to draft a new constitution. In polls, some 80% of Venezuelans oppose Mr. Maduro’s “constituent assembly.” But the opposition boycotted Sunday’s election because they know Cuba is running things, that voter rolls are corrupted, and that there is no transparency in the operation of electronic voting machines.
Opposition leaders in Caracas are still trying to use peaceful means to unseat Mr. Maduro. Last week they orchestrated an effective 48-hour national strike and on Friday another day of demonstrations.
“But grass-roots faith and hope in a peaceful solution has been lost. One symptom of this desperation is the mass exodus under way. On Tuesday the Panam Post reported that “more than 26,000 people crossed the border into Colombia Monday, July 26, according to the National Director of Migration in [the Colombian city of] Cúcuta.”
“Venezuelan applications for asylum in the U.S. were up 160% last year, making Venezuelans No. 1 among asylum seekers to the U.S. According to the United Nations Refugee Agency, there were 27,000 Venezuelan asylum seekers world-wide in 2016. By mid-July this year there were already 50,000.
“Last week the National Guard arrested and badly beat violinist Wuilly Arteaga, who has become a national symbol of peace. Many of those fleeing say they fear that after Sunday the regime crackdown will intensify. Some of those staying behind have already begun to launch counteroffensives. This provides the regime an excuse for increasing repression, yet there is a growing sense that violence is the only remaining option.
“The regime has the armored vehicles, the high-powered rifles, and the SWAT gear. But the population has the numbers and the anger. It also may increasingly have support from dissident government forces. . .”
Andrew Breiner, Rollcall: “Poll Shows Kid Rock as Republican Front-Runner, 8 Points behind Stabenow”
“Name recognition pushes Robert Ritchie to top of GOP field in Michigan
“Kid Rock, the rap rock musician and outspoken supporter of President Donald Trump, tops the field Republican Senate field in Michigan, according to a new poll, but he trails Democratic incumbent Debbie Stabenow.
“Considering Rock, or Robert Ritchie as he was born, hasn’t yet declared his candidacy in the race, Stabenow’s 8-point lead in a hypothetical matchup will likely add fuel to his possible candidacy. Ritchie took 33 percent in the Target-Insyght poll, compared to his closest rival, businessman and veteran John James, who had 16 percent. (James filed to run last month.)
“The poll showed 49 percent of likely Michigan voters think Trump is doing an “excellent” or “pretty good” job as president, a much more positive assessment than his national approval ratings, currently just under 40 percent. . .”
Hannity: “Here Are the Unanswered Questions Surrounding the Wasserman Schultz Scandal”
“Things are going from bad to worse for former Democratic National Committee Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz as the scandal surrounding her shady IT staffer continues to widen; raising serious ethical and legal questions over her relationship with the technician and how he gained access to some of the nation’s most sensitive information.
“The firing of a low-level IT worker is hardly national news, but the conditions of Imran Awan’s employment and his attempt to flee the country after sending hundreds of thousands of dollars to his native Pakistan is raising eyebrows amongst lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.
“GOP legislators are beginning to call for Schultz to testify before Congress over her relationship with Awan; the American people deserve answers to these very serious questions.
- Why was Imran Awan hired? What were the circumstances that led Debbie Wasserman Schultz to hire Imran Awan, as well as several family members and close friends to oversee her computer systems?
- How much access did he have?Did Awan have access to emails and sensitive correspondence from prominent members of Congress, including information relating to the House Foreign Intelligence Committee?
- Who else was involved? We know Awan had hired family members and close friends while working for Schultz. Did they too have access to sensitive national intelligence?
- Why was he paid so much?Sources close to the scandal say Awan was paid nearly $150,000 a year to remain on Debbie Wasserman Schultz’ IT team, even though he was barred from Capitol Hill back in February.
- What events surrounded his firing?Even though Awan was banned from the Capitol earlier this year, Schultz kept him on her payroll for months; only firing the shady IT staffer after he tried to flee the country.
- What is Debbie hiding? The former DNC boss has been “stonewalling” the FBI’s investigation in to Russian hacking for months; refusing to hand over hard drives, ignoring investigators’ requests, and even threatening the Chief of the Capitol Hill Police over her widening scandal. What is she hiding?
“Debbie Wasserman Schultz released a brief statement on the scandal, implying Awan was being targeted because of ‘religious profiling.’ . . .
Michelle Moons, BigGovt: “Sarah Sanders Blasts Press for ‘Russia Scandal Fake News’, Points to Clintons’ Real Russia Relationships”
“WASHINGTON, D.C. — Newly minted White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders flipped Russia conspiracy questions during Tuesday’s press briefing, pointing to a lack of evidence against the Trump Administration and a host of evidence against Bill and Hillary Clinton.
Sanders slammed media questions aimed at showing that there were any “misleading” actions by the Trump campaign or Trump Administration with regards to Russia.
“The thing I see misleading is a year’s worth of stories that have been fueling a false narrative about this Russia collusion. And a phony scandal based on anonymous sources. And, I think if we’re gonna talk about misleading, that’s the only thing misleading I see in this entire process.”
“Sanders then accused the media of being focused on a meeting that Trump’s son Don Jr. took, which she characterized as having ‘no consequence.’
“‘The Democrats actually colluded with a foreign government like Ukraine,’ she pushed back. ‘The Democrat-linked firm Fusion GPS actually took money from the Russian government while it created the phony dossier that’s been the basis for all of the Russia scandal fake news.’
“‘Look no further than the Clintons,’ for a relationship with Russia, Sanders retorted as reporters attempted to interrupt her statements. She cited the $500,000 former President Bill Clinton accepted to give a speech to a Russian bank. She added that Russian President Vladimir Putin himself thanked Clinton for giving the speech.
“She then cited the one-fifth of United States’ uranium that then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton allowed to be sold to a Russian firm. Sanders added that the firm’s investors included Clinton Foundation donors. . . .”
Tyler Durden, ZeroHedge:” Special Counsel Mueller Adds another Obama Ally to His Team”
“With each passing day, it’s looking increasingly like the only people qualified to serve on Special Counsel Mueller’s investigative team are lawyers who have either directly worked for and/or contributed to the campaigns of Barack Obama and/or Hillary Clinton. As Reuters points out today, Mueller’s latest hire is Greg Andres, a former DOJ attorney who was appointed during the Obama administartion and served under Attorney General Eric Holder.
“A former U.S. Justice Department official has become the latest lawyer to join special counsel Robert Mueller’s team investigating Russia’s interference in the 2016 presidential election, a spokesman for the team confirmed.
“Greg Andres started on Tuesday, becoming the 16th lawyer on the team, said Josh Stueve, a spokesman for the special counsel.
“Most recently a white-collar criminal defense lawyer with New York law firm Davis Polk & Wardwell, Andres, 50, served at the Justice Department from 2010 to 2012. He was deputy assistant attorney general in the criminal division, where he oversaw the fraud unit and managed the program that targeted illegal foreign bribery. . .”
Jerome Corsi, InfoWars: “WHY DID HILLARY SEND MUELLER TO MOSCOW WITH URANIUM IN 2009?”
“Mueller’s secret mission to Russia coincided with Clinton efforts to sell 20% of US uranium to Kremlin
“WASHINGTON, D.C. – Exactly why Secretary of State Hillary Clinton ordered FBI Director Robert Mueller to make a secret airplane trip to Russia on Sept. 21, 2009, to return a sample of uranium that had been seized in a CIA sting operation in the Republic of Georgia nearly four years earlier remains so shrouded in mystery, the cable revealed by WikiLeaks exposing the clandestine mission demands further investigation.
“Particularly troubling in Clinton’s diplomatic cable of Aug. 17, 2009, detailing Mueller’s clandestine mission is the detail that appropriate arrangements ‘need to be made to ensure the transfer of the material is conducted at the airport, plane-side, upon the arrival of the Director’s [Mueller’s] aircraft.’
“Why after flying from Washington, D.C., to Moscow would Mueller need to transfer on the tarmac to a ‘responsible Russian law enforcement authority’ a 10-gram sample of Highly Enriched Uranium (HEU) seized in the Georgia sting, instead of arranging a formal transfer of the HEU at a Russian government agency, where Mueller could engage in substantive discussion over the incident with Russian authorities?
“Yet, Clinton’s State Department cable clearly states, ‘We require that the transfer of this material be conducted at the airport, on the tarmac near by the plane, upon arrival of the director’s aircraft. . .’”
Kevin Daly, Daily Caller: “Trump DOJ Suing Over Affirmative Action In Universities”
“The Department of Justice (DOJ) is preparing a concerted campaign against affirmative action policies in higher education, The New York Times has learned.
“The Times obtained an internal announcement circulated within DOJ’s civil rights division, a department unit which enforces federal anti-discrimination laws, soliciting interest in ‘investigations and possible litigation related to intentional race-based discrimination in college and university admissions.’
“The report claims that the purpose of the effort is to identify and litigate against policies which disadvantage white applicants. However, the Times’ report does not identify those sections of the document which evince interest in protecting white students.
“Indeed, such a tactic is at odds with the strategies employed by anti-affirmative action groups that are currently fight race-conscious admissions policies in court. Groups such as Students for Fair Admissions have sued institutions of higher education, including Harvard University and the University of Texas, on the basis of discrimination against Asian applicants.
“Other efforts to curtail race-based admission due to alleged discrimination against whites have not ended successfully. . .”

Mark Levin (07-31-17)
“On Monday’s Mark Levin show, Mitch McConnell is threatening consultants and third parties that if they help anyone going against Luther Strange they will not get business from the Republican Party. What he is doing against Mo Brooks is despicable. McConnell is trying to paint Brooks as an anti-Trump and pro Nancy Pelosi politician. McConnell is a failed leader who cannot communicate to the people and tell the truth to his base. He and the Republican elite view us as pawns and as people to be manipulated. The Republican machine lies and deceives its constituents every election cycle.
“After that, Bernie Sanders likes to talk about how great single payer is. Why didn’t Vermont put single payer in place if they would have saved money by implementing it? Sanders keeps bringing up Canada as a good example of single payer. Nobody runs from America to Canada for their great healthcare because of lines and rationing. Do the American people want to wait 47 weeks to see a neurologist or wait a month to see a radiation oncologist? Why don’t Republicans go to toe to toe with Democrats on this debate? Republicans support big government healthcare. These politicians keep passing laws of which they know nothing about. This is about us. Have you ever had a government agency that was responsive to you? We are all supposed to hate the private sector, private business and successful people, because Sanders and his ilk are always trying to pass their ideology on us.
“Also, Sanders should be reminded that people are not thrown off their healthcare at all, but will drop the coverage once the healthcare mandate is eliminated. This healthcare debate has been based on all lies. To add, Anthony Scaramucci is no longer the White House Communications Director. Trump was right to let him go. It doesn’t matter who you are, no one has a right to talk the way he did to reporters. John Kelly will do a good job in this position.
“Later, a two state solution is a final solution for the state of Israel. The Palestinian authority is now going to give $344 million in foreign aid to terrorists. This money is coming from the U.S., Europe and even from Israel. Finally, the North Koreans say they can now go as far as Denver with an ICBM. Our Congress has been spending an entire year in chasing phony collusion claims. We have a special counsel who is investigating, among other things, the firing of James Comey. Meanwhile, More than half the continental U.S. is within range of a North Korean missile. It is a grave threat to the country.”
